This video just saved my life.....I hadn't built a PC from scratch in about a 8 years. I was super nervous, but when I found this video of the case I bought.....It was like a God Sent! Thank you so much for being soooo detailed!
Hats off to Lian Li for another excellent product and a bow to Christopher for another perfect build guide. Please Christopher...DO NOT CHANGE your tempo ever!!! 1 hour or 1 hour and a half does not mind at all anyone who wants to take his time and learn things about build guides. If they want to ''learn eveything'' in 8 min 59 sec cause they are bored, let them go to other places. Keep taking your time and explaining what is important to be explained. Thank you again pal!!
Just built my pc using a lot of this video as a guide, especially the front panel connector part. As a new builder, opening the back up and seeing the mass of cables before me while not knowing what any of them were or did was terrifying, and the manual was no help. Thankfully stumbled onto this video. Thank you so much!!!
Its the best pc build guide I have seen till now. You have not skipped anything, clearly showing motherboard connections and even cable management, which others seem to speed up or skip. And you even showed initial setup. Excellent work and production value.👍👍
Your guides are very comprehensive and this is the second time I "tried" to use your guide. Once for the Lancool II and now for the Lancool III. I needed Microcenters help for the Lancool II since that was my first build and the RGB confused me. I found many parts very helpful especially for orienting me to the various features specific to the Lancool case. I really wish you would have mercy on us newbs and do a build the default, "out of the box" way. Since you're constantly building/deconstructing I can't imagine it would be much of a burden. One issue I have is that you don't leave the front fans the way they came because you prefer having a radiator in the front. Since RGB is the most complicated part of a build for many people, it would be nice to see how the included case fans are hooked up the way they came out of the box. This is because, for a novice builder like me, any deviation from what is given to me out of the box causes some confusion. However, my critique is very minor and wouldn't apply to someone who has built more than 2 PC's in their lifetime. Great job on this guide!
Same here, second build for me but RGB wasn't even adressable and basically just LED strips when I built my first PC. Came here to see how the default RGB controller is supposed to be set up (user manual is utterly useless and confusing for this) and it's the only part of the build you don't adress... Sad & confused noises!
I just bought this case over the weekend and I have the motherboard, power supply and fan/radiator installed sitting on my dining room table. I haven't connected any of the cables, because I was so nervous as I haven't built a machine in a very long time. After watching this video, I feel confident in giving it a shot. This video may have saved me a few dollars as I was going to head back to microcenter and pay them to complete the build. Finger crossed. In fact, I'm confident that I'll figure it out, because I would like to build a nicer (more expensive) machine for myself and give the one I'm currently building to my son.
Hi Christopher, I just finished my first PC build ever today. After buying a custom built 4080/13900k build from CyberpowerPC and have to RMA it twice before the GPU literally went up in smoke, I decided I should take matters into my own hands. I used this guide, as I built my PC in the Lian Li III RGB case as well, and it was the greatest help. The build booted up and straight into windows first go! My only issue has been trying to get the back magnetic cable covers to close over the CPU power cables and the 24 pin mobo connecter. I had to end up just placing the glass back plate on and scrapping the cable covers all together. However, I wanted to thank you for such a great guide, it gave me the confidence to build my own pc and I couldn't be happier, thank you so very much!
Really helped me through my build, took your advice and got some Lian Li fans and I’m loving them! And thanks to you I knew exactly how to hook it all up! Can’t thank you enough!
I came here to find out how to connect the case fans (manual is very cryptic about the cabling), and hats off Christopher! I did not expect such a complete guide. I don't think I'll even need the manuals of the other components, as you even covered those AND the post-build installation efforts. Very impressive knowledge base for (first-time) builders!
420 radiator didn't fit on top for me with this case FYI. the manual says you can, and you probably could, but my MB didn't let me because of an obstruction.
Christopher, I just wanted to say thanks for this video. I completed my first PC build last month by following these steps, and it's been running with no issues. Thank you!
You Sir, are awesome! Without doubt this is the best PC build that I have seen (for my hardware) and I've looked at more than a few. I very much appreciate the detail and time you spent on this project. My build will be very similar using the Lian Li Lancool III, an MSI Edge motherboard and MSI RTX 3080 12gb GPU. My purpose is to have a very capable setup for MSFS2020. This is my first build in four decades (built a Sinclair ZX81 in '82 - a bit of soldering involved). Things sure have changed...anyway, you have alleviated many of my concerns by showing me the way and I thank you!
I just found this channel yesterday. I have to say that this is the most impresive step by step build guide that I have see in my life. Excellent work sir!.
I've seen a few Reviews ans Builds with the Lancool III Case, but your Video is absolutely the best. Your showing all options, where and how to mount drives, how to swap I/O Panel. others don't do this. by the way - nice build of yours.
I used a gigabyte motherboard for this build and it made installing all the drivers as easy as clicking a single button. They prompt you to download the gigabyte control centre upon startup and downloads all the drivers you need from their cloud.
It's incredibly nice that this exact video exists, as I am getting my Lian Li Lancool III case in a few days and everything with it, I know how to assemble it but it is very very very nice to be able to click between segments of this video just in case, Keep up the amazing work, subscribed.
GREAT VIDEO ! YOU EXPLAIN IN LOTS MORE DETAIL ! I WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE FAN RGB CONTROLLER - THIS IS THE ONLY VIDEO THAT EXPLAINS YHIS, THANK YOU 👍
I recently built my first PC with help from your channel, so thanks. I've also returned my NZXT H7 Flow and will be getting this case instead, will certainly use this video as a guide. Thanks again man👍
Just wanted to say thank you so much for an amazing build guide. My pc is finished and I wouldn’t have known where to mount the radiator if it weren’t for this video. Thanks again!
Nice Work! I'm tempted to get this case, I've got the Lancool 2 mesh performance and love it. The main anxiety is for the fan cabling and dust. Had to insert extra dust filters for mine on the front and side. Those Uni fans look so sleek. Ahh the urge to build another system!!
This helped a ton with the front IO. Lianli included a ton of options there and the manual is no help; The cables aren't even labeled. Even for a moderately experienced builder like me it was confusing. Thanks for helping out!
Thank you so much, I followed most of your guide on how to build my first PC, my build was a bit different but still so helpful and informative. 👍👍👍👍 thank you!!!
I'm glad you used another brand MVME SSD other than Samsung. Many others have faster write and read speeds than the usual Samsung that most recommend. And I don't see why they do that. And some of the others are cheaper as well.
It's cool they gave the anti-sag bracket for free, but it won't work well with mid and high-end motherboards because of the heatsinks and nvme slots. In the right side, it gets in the way of the SATA ports and motherboard cables...
I have the black non-rgb one and it's awesome. All components black and no lights. I put the I/O front panel from top to bottom because it looks more cool, it gives the case a much cleaner look and it hides the buttons, usb connectors, jacks and stuff; I removed those HDD cages on the inside for a better airflow which can come from the sides of the case and go up to the GPU; I changed the fan on the back and put a be quiet! Pure Wings 2 140 because it's much quieter than the stock one at high RPM; I really like the visible SSD on the back and those doors that hides the cables, love them (where 99% of the people who own this case hates them because they suck at WM) One thing that makes this case one of the best airflow cases but in the same time it gives one big minus it's the dust filters, doesn't have one (except the PSU, the only place which comes with dust filter). By not having them, it gives the case a better airflow but in the same time the dust on componets it's starting to be visible in time. And not just on the components, the front mesh of the case aswell. On future upgrades i'm gonna buy some black sleeved extension cables to give the interior a much more cleaner/black look and that dust filter kit for this case and maybe some more better 140 fans for the front intake, the stock ones are noisy when they ramp up. Something from be quiet!, Noctua, Corsair or someone who have a black option and quieter
holy moly i just bought the mesh 2 performance, when did this thing come out? I never saw it on the website when I was looking at mine.. How about letting me have the last build you did since you have a new fresh one LOL.
Huge thanks to Christopher for this video and this was extremely helpful! I built my pc with the Asus Z790 wifi d4 along with the zotac 4070. I struggled with the cabling which slightly hindered proper back panel closing but solved it with some effort. Extension cables are recommended for other builders.
Hats off to this amazing builld I used your video to build my 6950xt in that case however my gpu sags but feels sturdy doesn’t move all over the place it just look tilted is that ok ?
I will be starting my new build gaming computer hopefully just before the end of this month, two things I need to do when building this, is to look at one of your old builds to see how you wire the Power unit, and two is try to get a Windows 10Pro key, do you have any sights you would recommend that will work for my Build in Ireland. I already have, case, cooling unit, power, and NvMe SSD 1tb for it, last few things to get is motherboard, CPU and later on NvMe SSD 2tb plus GPU.
I use Kinguin for cheap windows keys, just make sure the key you get is for your region, sometimes you have to call Microsoft on a toll-free number but its easy enough and windows gets registered. As for the PSU, it's easy enough, thickest cable (24-pin) for motherboard power, either 1 or 2 square (4-pin) cable/s for CPU power (depends on CPU and if you are planning to overclock, 1 cable works for usual use though, did for my 3700x), then PCI-e (VGA) Cables for graphics card, avoid the linked cables that could be split a number of ways 8+8, 8+6+2, 6+2+6+3, best to use individual 8-pin cables. Depending on GPU, I just went safe with my 3070ti and added 3 cables for power, individual 8-pin x3 (depends on what GPU, then finally SATA cable/s for SSD or HDD storage. Enjoy the build dude!! :)
Good advice from @Raider I have bought lost of keys of Kinguin, have to phone to activate over 50% of the time, but thats a small price to pay for the cost saving
Another thing I've noticed which I noticed on all my lian li fans, is they are sloppy when it's sticker centering time. Producing that wobble like effect on that exhaust rear fan is not pleasant on the eyes. If you are buying especially a prem fan, they should make dang sure the stickers are centered.
The problem with this case is if u have a heavy graphics(3090 suprim x for example) card and u need a gpu suport(the vertical one that comes with the card) u cant mount the 3 fans on the top of psu shourd...
The explanation of the cables coming from the front panel/fans was quite helpful - the manual was near-indecipherable to me despite having built tons of PCs (sans RGB, which was the problem here, lol).
Ah great build, looks awesome, quick question, how many fans did you buy separately in total excluding the ones that came from the case? I'm thinking of potentially building the same, maybe instead of a 3070 ti getting a 3080ti and was wondering whether to go with the same amount of fans as you have in the video. Seems to be 13 fans in total and you're not using any of the original fans? Is there a particular reason you get the RGB case if you're not going to use the fans?
I have this case and I’m currently building in it. I am waiting on a cable for the graphics card before I power it up. This is my first build and I have a moron level of understanding. At present, I can honestly say that the most confusing and complex aspect of building a pc is RGB element. I have control hub from my Lian li infinity fans, which I hoped I could run all my fans and rgb through, but no that would be too easy, none of the connectors are compatible, so I suspect I’m going to have three different rgb controllers, one for the infinity fans, one for the case and one the motherboard to control the RAM and cooler effects. Given that the fans and case are the same manufacturer, I think this is a massive flaw. If I had my time again, I wouldn’t go rgb, it’s too confusing and does add to the performance. My overall feeling on pc building is that it’s needlessly complicated, and the instruction manuals are complete ass, without videos like this, I would be a broken man.
That was amazingly thorough and helpful review. I have a LC 2 non mesh and was reluctant about this but now it is a sure buy. I have gone back and forth on the Ryzens (never had one) and Intel and cannot decide. When I do, thos is the case as I use a 360 top AIO.
@@ChristopherFlannigan I am looking forward to building an Intel ARC with integrated graphics. In a torrent case with the p.s.u. capable of ECO. So the stock air cooler is parallel to the mobo and under the P.S.U. But, I cannot afford to. So, you should build that one for us to see. hahaha. Bus bars and voltage. for Actually overclocking.
I was really hoping to use this guide to help me figure out the RGB connectors, but it appears it is the one feature omitted from the build. Very disappointing.
Bought this case and am preparing to install a new build. After having a Fractal Design case for years that comes with a fan hub already built into the case, it's a bit stingey of Lian Li not to include one!
29:00 I was really hoping you'd at least show us where this plugs in to. Only cable i’m having trouble with. It just falls off the argb connector just by staring at it so I don’t know if it’s even the right connector!
14:20 drive trays: it does not look like you can have them all in place AND get your ATX Power-cables out of a full-sized PSU - and confirmed at 45:00 where you see him bunch all the cables in there where the second drive would normally sit
Thank you very much for this detailed video. Up to the day, still one of the most comprehensive tutorial. I am left with the doubt of how do these big GPUs manage without the extra support though. Anyone has any suggestions?
This video just saved my life.....I hadn't built a PC from scratch in about a 8 years. I was super nervous, but when I found this video of the case I bought.....It was like a God Sent! Thank you so much for being soooo detailed!

I watched this video and still did a shit job putting my pc together, might not be as pretty but it works lol
The best building videos ever. I don't know any other channel that makes videos of this quality. Great work.
Glad you think so!
I’ve built in this case twice. One white and one black. The utility of this case is unmatched. It is so good.

I probably replay lancool2 video like 10+ times and built a similar one. My best birthday ever and happy with my build

Seems to be 13 fans in total and you're not using any of the original fans? Is there a particular reason you get the RGB case if you're not going to use the fans?
Thanks for this brilliant build video, helped out so much
Best video, for real. Thanks
That's my case! Thank you alot
Great video, thanks for all the finely detailed information👍
Thanks!
No problem and thankyou
I like that aio it looks very nice. Is it a better buy than the Lian Li Galahad?
Both are good, but I really like the deepcool castle AIO's
@@ChristopherFlannigan have you seen the new one Lian Li announced? super customizable and has the same inf effect. i’d love to see a build with it!
The best guide
Thank you for the helpful video, great information. Terrific job!
Where does the controller argb cable go, you kinda just blew past it cus you didn't use it...
Thank you for this build walkthrough
That was amazingly thorough and helpful review. I have a LC 2 non mesh and was reluctant about this but now it is a sure buy. I have gone back and forth on the Ryzens (never had one) and Intel and cannot decide. When I do, thos is the case as I use a 360 top AIO.
very detailed tutorial. great job! tnx
Your guide saved me thanks a lot
Very in depth! Thanks for the info
How can we permanently disable the RGB on the default front Lian Li RGB fans?
Still not 100% on water cooling. but, with the psu mounted at the bottom of the case. sure.
Both have their pros and cons
@@ChristopherFlannigan I am looking forward to building an Intel ARC with integrated graphics. In a torrent case with the p.s.u. capable of ECO. So the stock air cooler is parallel to the mobo and under the P.S.U. But, I cannot afford to. So, you should build that one for us to see. hahaha. Bus bars and voltage. for Actually overclocking.
I was really hoping to use this guide to help me figure out the RGB connectors, but it appears it is the one feature omitted from the build. Very disappointing.
Bought this case and am preparing to install a new build. After having a Fractal Design case for years that comes with a fan hub already built into the case, it's a bit stingey of Lian Li not to include one!
i was going crazy trying to figure how to get the three front fans to connect, so I have to get a hub for it?
Amazing
Thanks
29:00 I was really hoping you'd at least show us where this plugs in to. Only cable i’m having trouble with. It just falls off the argb connector just by staring at it so I don’t know if it’s even the right connector!
Great tutorial build and install.
14:20 drive trays: it does not look like you can have them all in place AND get your ATX Power-cables out of a full-sized PSU - and confirmed at 45:00 where you see him bunch all the cables in there where the second drive would normally sit
Thanks, this was so helpful for me
Hey, really nice step be step... Going though a build in the same case. A bit over done. But haven't seen anything like it online.
Thank you very much for this detailed video. Up to the day, still one of the most comprehensive tutorial.
I am left with the doubt of how do these big GPUs manage without the extra support though.
Anyone has any suggestions?
thanks!
I don’t have one of those adapters in the back to connect all those cables ,not sure where they all go without that little box , but great video
as always great detail
very helpful guide thank you
