77 million accounts hacked from PSN in 2011. Havnt trusted Sony since. Yes hackers are going to hack, but more accounts just means more exsposure to risks.

The number of players active on Steam has dropped significantly. There were 30k more people playing Fallout 4 last I looked. No one wants their information put in a place that is constantly being broken into. Sony gets hacked more than Walgreens gets robbed in San Francisco.

My issue with this is mostly the fact they planned for it to be this way from the very beginning. So why on earth did they allow people who cant create PSN accounts in their regions to even buy the game in the first place
There are countries where u can’t make a PSN account?
@@Gr00tanpsn is not available in many countries pretty much locking them out of playing those specific games until they use a vpn but that costs money as well

It's a sad end for the game if they go through with this

They cannot win this, even when they win they'll lose because a big chunk of the playersbase will just leave.
What a disappointment. No more Liber-Tea for me. Isn't this the same way drug dealers operate? "The first hit is free...after that, you'll do anything I want you to do just for some more candy." The 'First hit' being the "grace period" without requiring a linked PSN account. And no, I obviously didn't read the EULA close enough to see this before I agreed to it. Regardless, it was a fun game while it lasted. I genuinely enjoy(ed) playing it.
I wouldnt have a problem with this, if it weren't for two facts:
1. I dont exactly own HD2. My brother does, and he family shares it with me. It was he that got me into it. My current job sees me spending all my money on bills and such, that i can't afford to buy the Game. And knowing how this works, i have to legit own the game to play it. So i guess the SES Sovereign of Liberty is going out of Commission.
2. PSN is constantly getting hacked. And id rather not risk it. And no, for those who suggest it, i am NOT getting VPN. Like i said, I just have enough cash earned for Bills and Food.
Wish i could Spread Managed Democracy more, but it seems my time as a diver is at its end. For those staying, Fight on for Super Earth.

Uninstalled this game from my system. Until they back off. I'm not supporting this.

This was on the steam page that you would be required to link your psn to hd2 since launch
They just removed all the good will I had keeping all of the game's issues at bay in the span of 3 minutes.
I think it is a good excuse to stop playing
This new update broke my PC got to format 2 times at first I update the patch and try to run it but game guard verify pops out and I restart my PC and got stucked on the boot loading , I format and changed my SSD I format it and runs smoothly again after I install the game same thing happened again I reformat it one more and tried playing on my 2nd new pc while I wait for the other one to format, guess what it broke my 2months old pc wtf is with this update I'm now formatting my 2 pc.
So let me get this straight. Steam users have to have a Sony PSN account to access Helldivers?

I am the last helldiver alive... If you are seeing this, the bugs and bots have won the war... The bots had something up their metal sleeves the entire time, a super weapon called the "Sony Diver Destroyer" which destroyed every single Super Destroyer on every planet where the bots were invading so there was a masive decrease in the helldiver production speed and population which was a huge detrement since the terminids had something else coming aswell... There was a chemical in the Termicide called "PSN" which caused the bugs to mutate to massive proportions and gain more intelligence and this advancement led to the infestation of Super Earth...There is no more Democracy, no more Liberty and no more Super Earth....This is the end of Democracy.

So I need an account for a company I have been Actively avoiding for 10? Years to play a game I bought and (almost played out) 2 months ago?

I sunk a good 3000 hours of my life into this bullshit and I thought that there was this good game that was so trustworthy and great only for this to happen.
Twas fun while it lasted, but oh well. I knew it was too good to be true.

It also had a GIANT skip button on the linking page in the game and guess what? I skipped it and have no intention of making a PSN account

The outrage isn't justified it was clearly on the store page sony published this game and if they want you to have a psn account to play it you have to get one they never hid this prerequisite. You don't have to like it go play something else I guess

The mention on the steam page is tiny. a small yellow box sandwiched between two more yellow boxes. and even beyond those, the page has many other information blurbs, such as "Notice: This game only supports Japanese interface/voice for customers in Japan." and "STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY: Playable"
yes, it is on the consumer to read these things, absolutely. but let's not act like they do. and just with the ToS, they are well aware that you don't look at these things. I've seen numerous people saying that they had no clue helldivers had anything to do with sony until this announcement. and it's very easy to not link these two things together.
they say that the original plan was to require PSN accounts, but this is a game that had no hype leading up to it. nobody was expecting that, because the first big wave of players never heard of the game before it came out(in a state where no connections to PSN or Sony were required)

They are driving the game to the ground anyway with all the senseless nerfs and changes, the game is nowhere near as fun as it was one or two months ago where you could try any load-out combination and just blast around, change by change they are rendering the game into a tedious and mediocre experience where after a week you've seen and done all that there is to see and do, which involves not engaging in combat on a horde shooter (facepalm)

Many people who play now, live in countries where you CAN NOT make a PSN account. So they bought a game, and now, after months of playing, they will be just fucked. THAT is the problem.

The account is free
You don't pay in cash
You do however pay in all your steam data getting leaked to hackers because Sony can't manage to put down any security measures that actually do anything

What's the reason to punish Arrowhead? It's not there choice. PSN is not hard to do, you don't need ps5 for this. 5 minutes and go.
The fact people played the last few months without problems also shows you do not need PSN either. If crossplay is the problem disable it for those that don't want to link.
This is not a big deal, they are very client oriented, they do not demand money, they trying there best to fix different issues. I this thing could be forgiven) because of other different good things.

The point is I bought it on steam not playstation, so I shouldn't need to suck sony dong to enjoy helldiving. I wish game developers would stop picking the most censorious studio on the planet as their publisher, just look at the stellarblade controversy. Not sure what they mean by "security" when their network gets hacked frequently. I explicitly don't own a playstation, and I'm not going to create an account just to play helldivers 2. If arrowhead can't find a workaround then they can get fucked.
