Visited there last week. Was mostly interested in King John, ever since I read the Robin Hood stories as a child. The crypt is especially spiritual, after the centuries of pilgrimage you can still feel the psychic energy absorbed by the walls. What I love about all these ancient cathedrals is that they were built with such skill, devotion and good taste by people who were much poorer than us.
Really enjoyed your tour of Worcester Cathedral, thank you! Very informative and although I'm a local and have enjoyed visiting for many years, I learnt some new things about the cathedral and it's history.
Oh, the other thing is during the Civil War, King Charles II watched the battle for Fort Royal from the tower of the cathedral, and when the Royalists lost, many of their soldiers were held prisoner in the cathedral.
Very nicely done. It was informative and beautifully balanced with narrative, history, art, architecture and music. I look forward to more of your presentations.
