I love your videos. Real food, real prices, real time considerations, family friendly, great variety, not too many steps, and I can get it done after work with little planning, little prep. Yes there are lots of people who are great chefs but their meals are too involved for the working mom. I dont have 2 hours to devote dinner not with after school sports, gymnastics, play practice, laundry, homework and housework. Thanks for keeping dinner real. Hopeful to get back to all those activities soon. But still don't want to devote a ton of time in the kitchen, it's just appreciated. Real food that is delicious, fast, and easy. And also, I love it when you make your $5 videos it's actually $5 for the meal it's not one of those that you click on it and find out then it's eight servings and $5 a serving. Which is what some people are doing......not realistic. I keep microwave rice on hand too....sometimes my daughter just wants rice and peas, go figure. Also, keep the dehydrated chopped onions on the shelf or frozen ones, they are a time and eye saver I use them a lot or make my own to preserve my garden onions all year. So noce to just freeze them on a cookie tray and then throw them in a ziplock freezer bag. I chop about 20 heads of garlic and do the same thing once a year. It's so much faster to just take a spoon of it out rather than peel and mince it every meal. And finally, is the instant pot pasta soggy or mushy, skeptical about making any pasta dishes in the instant pot I usually make my noodles separate because I'm worried that it's going to be a touch mushy and I can't stand mushy pasta
For your fried rice, to get that "take out" Chinese food taste, add a tablespoon of sesame seed oil (the dark one) to your rice along with the soy sauce.
This looks like another winner! I've been scared of my instant pot but you make it look easy. I really love how you explained that about the spaghetti sauce needing to thicken. I would have totally freaked out without that explanation. You really should consider packaging these menu plans with printables and selling them on Etsy or by subscription. Don't get me wrong: I love that they are free! But so far your channel content is worth more than a lot of the paid services.
Thank you for sharing your Instant Pot recipes. I remember being your age & the question I asked myself every afternoon was, "What are we going to have for supper tonight"??? I didn't do a great job of planning. I did use my crockpot some, but the only thing I knew how to cook was roast, potatoes, carrots, & onions. The rest of the time I spent money on the drive-thru... Although I knew how to cook, it's difficult at best to be supermom. Thankfully, both my kids are decent cooks. I'd change many things if I could have a redo. Keep posting your great advice for meals. You're a rock star! 🙂
I've been on the fence for a month about getting an Instant Pot and you made me decide to get one. My husband doesn't eat meat so I often make 2 separate (ish) meals and this will make it easier. I'm Asian American and have no rice cooker (gasp!) and was debating between a fancy rice cooker or the instant pot. Decided on the instant pot from your post. I've watched others but I didn't love what they cooked but your meals are very similar to what I make for my family. This seemed so much easier and looks delicious. Thanks!
Until you get another Instant Pot you can order another inner pot from Amazon. That way you can cook the rice first, pull out the inner pot and replace with the other pot and complete your meal.
You can also cook the rice first, then dump it in a pile on a plate, cook all else, then add your rice back. Just use the plate the rice was on as your own for dinner in case the kids or hubby notice a rice grain or two.
New sub here.... commenting on a old video 🤦🏼♀️ I have a pressure cooker, it’s not an “instant pot” but almost identical lol and I can’t wait to try these recipes! My husband is SO SO picky and doesn’t like complicated meals and your recipes are so simple and not over the top and now I can actually get him to eat what I cook! I love your channel so much and can’t get enough of your videos! One of my top 5 fave RUclips channels 😍
You call yourself a mother?!? Giving your children microwave rice?!? Just kidding! My kids eat Microwave food all the time! Took 7 recipes from 2 of your videos and made one, froze one! It’s a whole new life girl! Now I’m watching this to get next weeks grocery list in order! Tarter tot casserole was a success tonight! And homemade hamburger helper was amazing last night! Keep making videos!
Thank you so much for making these videos sweet Mama! Sooooooo helpful to me and my family! I have spent way too much money on groceries and all of your videos are helping me tremendously!!! I’m cutting around $500 off of my grocery budget a month! 😶😆
New sub! I don't have an Instant Pot but have been toying with getting one. You are my hero! You take the scary out of it. You made simple dinners my husband would eat (he will not eat anything "fancy") and it seems so much faster than just cooking them on the stove. Thank you for sharing!
On your stew meat, if you tried off the wet meat well, put your Instant Pot on sauté and let it get hot, add cold oil to hot pot, heat oil, and then throw in the meat, the meat won’t stick and will brown nicely for greater flavor. Works with any type of meat or fish in any type pan or pot. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
Great recipe ideas. I’d love to see more instant pot recipes, only a little slower so I can more easily see the settings for each step. I’ve only used my instant pot once but would like to use it more. Thanks.
Denise Pineda hello, in the upper corner of the video you can change the playback speed. You can slow it down if you need to see particular settings. Hope this helps you
Okay, so I've been super sceptible about the Instapot. You made it look so easy! And you used frozen meat!! Who knew? I guess, I worry about putting everything together, maybe. Looking forward to more of these. Thanks! I love that you Aldi too!!
Just wanted to say that you are doing an amazing job and if you have or just feel like serving uncle ben’s rice, that’s way better than going thru a drive thru!!! It’s still way better! Love these videos!!!
I love your videos, I’ve been sharing them with my sister and daughter that now lives on her own! You are such a good mom and wife and a strong foundation to your home and family! Amazing woman!!! God bless ♥️😉🙌🏼
i make broth and store it in old spaghetti jars. I put them in the freezer - they are only about 2/3 to 3/4 full. Best to turn them on their side with the lid on tight to freeze them.
I got an instant pot for christmas....it's still in the box lol. I'm loving your easy recipes though and Im thinking its time to break mine out of the box!
try it out girl! i did the same with mine. it intimidated me for a while...but once i got the hang of it i love just cleaning one pot when i use it! pinterest has a lot of easy recipes to try. start small with just trying boiled eggs or baked potatoes. then try something with more steps
I did your chicken and dumpling recipe. I made it with 2 cans of biscuits verses 1. My goodness my family loved it! Thank you. It was a lot quicker and easier. I will say with a regular crockpot for the biscuits to become dumplings you want to put it on high for about an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours though.
you can cook rice in the microwave. i usually use instant rice and put just enough water to barely cover the rice (i don't measure stuff). 6 minutes is long enough to feed a bowl of enough rice for me and 3 guys.
Great love your hints: just bought the pot on amazon and cooked my first meal. Wow love how fast and easy. Thanks would not have tried it if didn’t see you do it!
10:14 For Chicken Noodle Soup This comment is for myself. My husband and I think this is the most delicious homemade chicken noodles soup ever! We make it all the time!
At first when I saw that you were cooking spaghetti in the instant pot I was going to click out of the video, but I am glad I didn’t! It is such a great suggestion and would save time and water not waiting for a pot to boil! I love the recipes you share. Thank you!!
Love your meal ideas. I want to try the beef and broccoli soon. Dried dill is also a really good addition in chicken soup. I also sub out ground beef with chicken breasts, ground chicken or ground turkey when I make spaghetti. My three littles eat any of them and it’s a good way to change it up or use what I have on hand.
We tried most of your recipes & they’re so good! We don’t have an instant pot, but we have a slow cooker. Can the chicken fried rice, beef & broccoli, & chicken noodle soup be cooked in the slow cooker or the stove? If so, how long in the slow cooker?
Love these great recipes! Don’t have an IP yet but I’m definitely thinking about getting one now. 😂 Also we all have ‘those’ days...microwave rice is not too bad! I’ve given my kids ice cream for dinner so....! 😱🤣
You are so sweet and real and such a great mama and wifey! Glad I found your channel and thanks for the inspiration and recipes. I’m gonna try not to be intimidated by my instant pot now too ha :)
I just discovered you. I love your cooking videos. I love to cook and one of my favorite way of cooking is crockpot or instapot. Mainly during the week because I work. I hope you keep making your cooking videos they give me great meal ideas. My husband Thanks you too lol . Oh I’m sure I’m a lot older than you. Never apologize for taking a short cut in cooking especially when you taking care of a house and your family. Look at it this way , your kids look like they love vegetables that’s a huge accomplishment also your not going to a fast food place. So no matter what you cook it’s always more healthy than that option 😉 have a blessed day ❤️
I am loving all the recipes you have posted. I have made two dinners from one of your last videos and my family loved them. I like how you used Aldi because that is where we shop alot! You give many great options and ideas! For me a mom of 6 I am loving them!
Considering there are so many that go without food, who gives a hoot If you "microwave" the nutrition they are going to have. Stop giving a crap about what others think! You're taking care of your family. You do YOU! That beef and broccoli looked good hahah!
I could never hate you for using that rice. Still better than take out! I also don’t peel carrots anymore. It removes the nutrients, I just scrub these and go.
Those are some amazingly good looking meals. I have 2 instant pots and I have only used 1 of 1 time and they are over 8 yrs old :( but you do make it look so easy. :) Thanks so much for sharing!! P.S. new subscriber here. :)
Did you know that you can set the timer on the iPot for 0 minutes? I noticed that when you made your beef and broccoli dish after adding the broccoli you set it for 1 minute. Broccoli cooks fast! :)
Rachel Decelien I believe crockpot/slow cooker is the same thing just two different terms! Instant pot is a high pressure cooker that cooks foods very fast with high pressure and heat. However, the instant pot can also cook just like a slow cooker at low temps

I HAD two Insta Pots! Now I have none😓. I knocked one off the counter breaking it. The other one the lid, the seal broke. It still cooked but. It still worked but I was afraid to use it. I could see it burning someone, so I just threw it away.
Have you though about how much frozen chicken really costs per pound? I thought I was getting a good deal. This week at Lidl (grocery store), chicken cutlets are $1.49lb, not frozen. On a regular everyday basis, frozen chicken is $1.79lb. So my natural choice would be Lidl at $1.49lb not Walmart @ 1.79lb. Next week the best price for fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts is $2 a lb. Which store is the better price? Let’s do the math. Walmart frozen chicken is $1.79lb, but when I read the bag it says 18% water/sodium mix injected into chicken. So 18% of my chicken is actually water/salt. 1lb=16oz. 16x18%= 2.88 oz of water for every 16oz or 1lb. $1.79x.18= $.32 for water. So your chicken costs $1.79 + $.32 = $2.11lb. That means the $2lb chicken costs less. If the bag is 2.5lb cost .27 more. What’s a quarter? $14 a year. Stock up and freeze chicken breast cutlets at $1.49 then your at .62lb savings or $1.55 week or $80.60 a year. I thought $1.79 was a bargain but it’s not. This why I need to know the real cost of my frozen chicken. Comparing them equally. Sorry if this more info than you are interested in.

I always add the cream cheese after cooking and melt it then so it doesn’t end up lumpy in the soup.
I love my instant pot. These recipes will make dinner so easy. Thanks!!!

Hi Just found you, I'm really excited to try your instant pot recipes.... Never used my instant pot and bought it last year in November 2018 lol....
Who would dare judge you? You and your kids are adorable! Keep up the great work, I live in Texas too!!
Thank you for making this video! These meals are so easy and make the instant pot not so scary!

I have a question! When you freeze your meals how long do you cook them for if you take them straight out of the freezer and put them in the oven?
❤️ Love the great affordable options just like the other slow cooker video you did! Thanks

Those are nice recipes and I have made some of the dishes you made and love them like the fried rice, and the spaghetti dinner.
I love watching your cooking videos.
I'm definitely adding chicken fried rice to this week's menu plan.

thank you!
Hi new subscriber!! I'm a mom of 5 boys..the youngest being twins! I am enjoying these videos!
Can these be made in a slow cooker following the Instant Pot recipe?
Love all your post. Have you ever used a hand mixer to shred your meats. So much easier:)
Also try some sesame oil in your fries rice super yummy!
Those are some amazingly good looking meals. I have 2 instant pots and I have only used 1 of 1 time and they are over 8 yrs old :( but you do make it look so easy. :) Thanks so much for sharing!! P.S. new subscriber here. :)
Don't for get to save veggie scraps and make your on veggie broth then freeze it to use later.
thank you! i have done that before and it was amazing!
What size is your pot? Thank you for sharing!
I use microwave rice!
Did you know that you can set the timer on the iPot for 0 minutes? I noticed that when you made your beef and broccoli dish after adding the broccoli you set it for 1 minute. Broccoli cooks fast! :)
What size instant pot do you own? I’m looking to purchase one myself. But I want to buy the right size
House Of Harris mine is a 6 quart!
All yall makes me wish for an instant pot
Love the recipes Abby! 💕🤗
thank you!
Why no spices in Tortilla soup???
Also, maybe don’t cut your meat on a wood cutting board if it’s porous it could get really nasty over time lol. Thanks for the recipes! 👍🏽
I was surprise u didn't use the cake mixter to chop ur chicken like u have done before
Instant pot , crock pot, slow cooker, what are the differences please? Thank you
Rachel Decelien I believe crockpot/slow cooker is the same thing just two different terms! Instant pot is a high pressure cooker that cooks foods very fast with high pressure and heat. However, the instant pot can also cook just like a slow cooker at low temps
@@thesimplifiedsaver thank you very much 🥰
Hi Abby, next time make your rice the day before.
I made the chicken fried rice tonight and it didn’t turn out like yours!! :( I’ll have to try it again soon.
Oh I’m so sorry! Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll answer them for you
My guess? Parbroiled Rice. It's my absolute fave as the grains stay nice and separated and firm. No mushy rice! Also, it has a lower glycemic index than even BROWN RICE. Breaks down evenly with no blood sugar spike. (Controlled Diabetic here). Love your videos!!!!
If you make the rice ahead of time it always turns out better for fried rice. I make mine the night before and put it in the fridge.
I HAD two Insta Pots! Now I have none😓. I knocked one off the counter breaking it. The other one the lid, the seal broke. It still cooked but. It still worked but I was afraid to use it. I could see it burning someone, so I just threw it away.
New sub, LOVE you're video's ❤🖒
$14 a year. ❤️👍🏻
If the carrots look good I dont peel mine either.
You dont clean your chicken
Pleaseeeee wash your meat! Seriously! Love your videos though!
SwankCurls I thought I was the only one to notice.
Washing meat is dangerous. The bacteria present in meat is only killed by cooking it to appropriate temperatures. If you wash it you are atomizing bacteria and spreading it all over your kitchen. Not to mention if you are buying chicken or beef or pork from any store in the country the USDA requires it be bathed in ammonia to kill germs. And the ammonia doesn't wash off. Either way, washing the meat puts you at more risk, not less, takes more time, and is completely ineffective.
You don’t need to wash your meat.
