Yep. I just substitute teach occasionaly, but I have talked to several friends who teach high school and college, and there is now a plague of students who use internet shorthand in term papers. And, even more maddening, at some of the schools, they have been told to allow it. Don't want to hurt a kid's self esteem by telling him he's a lazy moron.
If there are children running around who can't tell the difference between the real person and the character they play, the answer isn't to have the character behave as a saint, the answer is to get them to understand the difference. I know it's sounds harsh, but if they survived learning there is no Santa, Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy, I trust they'll be just fine knowing Drake Bell isn't Raul.
