Selena!! I am actually making my St. John’s salve today!! I wildcrafted mine and seed-saved for next year. I watched my oil carefully to make sure I had zero rancidity, having to use fresh plant matter. All of this to let it sit 6 weeks and now today, finally…I’m turning mine into salve and I’ve been taking the tincture I made for the past 3 days.
As a naturopath I access the whole picture looking at current symptoms from head to toe including physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms. I also explore the clients external world to be able to understand their internal world at cellular level. I would need to know what your current diet, hydration you consume and details of any medications you take as there could be contraindications. This process takes an hour and half in my consultation and results in me being able to give the client a personal prescription that works with the body not against the body. Focusing on hydration, food, purposeful supplementation / herbal medicine and naturopathic techniques. It would not be ethical for me to make suggestions without knowing the full picture as this would be prescribing in the same manner as allopathic medicine. Which is very unlikely to be beneficial. I hope you understand and it makes sense to you. This video may explain it in a different way: ruclips.net/video/F4iyBUEcWz4/видео.html
I would make sure to identify it 100% as true medicinal St John’s Wort. Common names can be confusing as different countries use the same common names for different plants so you want to look up the Latin name Hypericum perforatum 🌱❤️🌱
I don't work in ratios, I work with the folk method. I was taught the ratio method in my training but went back to my roots and the folk method. As every plant you pick will have different chemical constituents due to where it was grown, the health of the soil, what plants surround it, water levels, weather, planets etc.. So many different influences. So my personal belief is I cannot reduce plants down to ratio's. It works brilliant for some people but not for me. If you like to work with ratio's a quick google search will give you the correct ratio. Happy brewing 🌱❤️🌱

Are there any types of garden St John's Wort we shouldn't use? I have one n my garden and want to make sure it's ok to use.
