  • It's been quite some time since I've uploaded a Pokemon video on RUclips. Figured with the Elgato Game Capture I got, now's a good time as any.
This playthrough is for the very 1st Pokemon Stadium game on the N64. Limited with it's features, the game is moreso a showcase of the teams used during the Nintendo Cup for 1997 and 1998 in Japan; Also known as the 1st 2 Pokemon Game Tournaments in the world.
Playing with rental Pokemon doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll get far in this mode, but that won't stop me from at least trying. Let's see how far I get!

Crazy this game saw release when it was basically the beta version of Pokemon Stadium.

I think this is a early epic prototype to Pokémon stadium on n64.

Michael Murietta Actually, international Pokémon Stadium is the second release in the series, Pocket Monsters Stadium was the first one, but it was so incomplete having only 42 Pokémon available for battle

@@GouShin1 our Pokémon stadium is basically the 3rd entry or like entry paralleling the Japanese version with Japanese version. So basically there’s 4 Pokémon stadiums on the n64

@@crabwaluigi actually there’s three. This one which is Pocket Monsters Stadium (only in Japan), then Pocket Monsters Stadium 2 (released worldwide as Pokémon Stadium), and Pocket Monsters Stadium Gold & Silver (released worldwide as Pokémon Stadium 2).

I don't know how or who, but I vaguely remember being at someone's house and they actually had this version of Pokemon Stadium and I think a 64DD as well. I'm from Canada and we're talking around 1999 at the earliest memory. I remember my late brother saying the announcer was saying words like "sticky tack!" over and over, getting weirded out by it. I guess what was really being said from what I can gather now is I think 「さあ、今度の攻撃だ!」(Now the next attack is!). Yeah I'm learning Japanese now all these years later.

In the Japanese version, Swift cannot miss if the target has no Evasion boosts. If it does, it can miss - and that Chansey used Minimize. This was changed for the NA/EU versions.
