Does the headboard require to be next to a wall ? Can i keep the bed not mounted next to a wall but still sit and rest my back on the headbaord without damaging and can the headboard hold my back and weight without problem???

It depends on a person’s weight. The headboard does not seem very strong. So I think it can stand weight of apx. 45-60 kg person.
