I'd like to see more animatronics back in films. Even today Jurassic Park remains one of the more visually successful films through its use of both CGI and animatronics for the close-ups.
Can I just say WOW? I mean some of Disney's animatronics were designed in the 60s, and they still did it better than anyone. And these new ones are ridiculous. Nobody does it like Disney...
Just imagine what it will be like when they come out with the A1000 series!!!! :) They'll move more realistically, and show facial expressions... even react to audiences without the need of other input!
The author of the book Future Shock looked at the Disney animatronics and thought that "soon" they would be so good that they would be staffing the ticket counter at the airport and you wouldn't be able to tell them from real people. That book was written over 40 years ago!!! So much for predicting.
3:25 hmmmm...what would happen if their wires some how got crossed up and had switched to "evil mode" . if that were to happen.. how would they control that.. i have heard of malfuntions in these things too so that is kind of scary.. but somehow i enjoy looking at them and yet frightend at the same time.
The newsest edition to the family is the Mr. Potato Head animatronic at Toy Story Mania which can talk to certain guest, sing and can even take of his ear! Great job Disney!
I wish my parents wouldn't have been such fuddy-duddys and just taken me to Epcot. They were like "Oh it's boring, you won't like it." I LOVE animatronics! I would die to see some up close again.
for the adult section of disney world, they should offer an animatronic brothel. Think about this - it would be a revolution in adult entertainment as well as a breakthrough in technology. A few years down the road, they could begin manufacturing self contained units for sale to individuals!
the timekeeper was my favorite animatronic robot so uniquely voiced by various actors i want the timekeeper animatronic how dare disney hide timekeeper from me
When the quality and complexity or holographic film becomes so sophisticated that it is not possible to tell the difference beween the real world and the holographic characters, that will probably be the day when the animatronic characters will retire.
a scary thought for the future though... You may not be able to know who is human and who is robot on the streets when this has become something ordinary
@lennabug and this doesn't include their free roaming dinosaur called "Lucky." Do a search for "Lucky the Dinosaur." Also, they now have a Wall-E robot that acts JUST like the character in the movie. Same curiosity like behavior and everything.
Robots re-enacting the same programmed moves to a canned audio track, thousands of times. An exciting novelty perhaps in the 1960s, tired kitsch in 2008. Disney hired a mafia thug to union bust; hated living, breathing employees. >>> "Remarkable achievement. Great work. Yet the result is always empty nonetheless. They need to find a better way to present them -- better writing, better concepts. Right now the overall effect is a little less interesting than Christmas dept. store windows."
this guy I know is obssessed with disney and wants me to go but anamatronis terrify me, he teases me about it tio the point I wanna knock himout. He tellsme Im rediculous n nobody is afraidof them. Anyone share in my fear?
Yeah I have this fear as well (glad to hear someone else has it) but if you have a chance to go to Disney, you should totally go to splash mountain and a few other of their rides. Disney really helped change my major fear into a great interest in the Disney animatronics because of how realistic it is. The fear isn't really gone though (it's more like an uncomfortable feeling) but at least I am able to look at it physically and watch in amazement. This is just how I solved my phobia slightly, there's different solutions for different people :)
Yeah. Those robot rides at Disney get boring. About three minutes in the novelty wears off. Literally copying live people shows how far they are from being live people. The eyes are always too deepset and always look like an anumated dead person. The clicky=clicky of the eyelids is pure kitsch. One always leaves a Disney park a little emptier than when one went in. Disney hated having to pay human employees. he hired a mafia hitman to bust the union at his studio. He prefered robots.

how the fuck do they make these without getting scared

Disneyworld is really a world of wonders!! Great video!!

I got 4 words for you. Five. Nights. At. Freddy's.
+Traumaqueenamy I have 1 word for you. Stop.
The newsest edition to the family is the Mr. Potato Head animatronic at Toy Story Mania which can talk to certain guest, sing and can even take of his ear! Great job Disney!

That looks like an amazing job. :P Good luck, jonesyaaron. I love the lasso guy at the end! That's sick.
I loved this video. But you've got to admit, the very end was creepy.
for the adult section of disney world, they should offer an animatronic brothel. Think about this - it would be a revolution in adult entertainment as well as a breakthrough in technology. A few years down the road, they could begin manufacturing self contained units for sale to individuals!
Looking back at these now, they seem so simple next to our more modern AAs
WOW!, thats incredible!. I wanna go to Disneyland now!.
and this is pretty old, probably now have even more amazing technology.
the timekeeper was my favorite animatronic robot so uniquely voiced by various actors i want the timekeeper animatronic how dare disney hide timekeeper from me
cool animatronics!!!! the best iv seen im sure

This looks so cool! I really hope I have a chance to see this one day...
I wish they would do one of Walt Disney coming back to earth and wringing Michael Eisner's neck.
The Jack Sparrow animatronics is amaizing!!! I sware Johnny Depp acting in person!!
Do a search for chicago animatronics and jefferson graveyard and see a audio animatronic halloween show on you tube. Disney is amazing!
a scary thought for the future though... You may not be able to know who is human and who is robot on the streets when this has become something ordinary
maybe the place where they made the robots are now in a forgotten part of disneyland
This is really ASWEME!!
This is awesome, I love it!
you think they can keep the same rides from 40 years ago and still attract newer generations... at least they still got the main originals
Great, now I'm scared to go to a Disney park now.
@lennabug and this doesn't include their free roaming dinosaur called "Lucky." Do a search for "Lucky the Dinosaur." Also, they now have a Wall-E robot that acts JUST like the character in the movie. Same curiosity like behavior and everything.
Oh my god, I was on that Great Movie Ride, and I thought the Wicked Witch was an actual actor, man.
@cherryberryROX12 I agree, Animatronics are terrifying actually.
That is an awesome video!
animatronics freak my out!
and that's almost 4 years ago too
To be honest, this kind of stuff scares me. It's not real, but it looks real. Terminator, anyone? Or Surrogates?
What if they made animatronics like 50 years from now that can walk. :P
@slobinski haha, that's awesome.
they'd make nice house pets :)
Good point.

It's all fun and games until they escape, run amok and take over the park!
I wish they would improve the animatronics in Fantasyland.
Is it just me or does the speaker sound like tron from KH2
Why do they use PVC injection? Slilcone would be my choice. More realistic and easier to craft.
@samsen1 Dude this was uploaded in 2006... Miley Cyrus wasnt even born back then!
this guy I know is obssessed with disney and wants me to go but anamatronis terrify me, he teases me about it tio the point I wanna knock himout. He tellsme Im rediculous n nobody is afraidof them. Anyone share in my fear?
+Terry Petronella I have a fear of animatronics too, but Disney is too amazing to miss out on. I know this was posted months ago, but oh well.
+Taylor Ward im glad im not alone in my fear lmao

These creep me out....
I aways wanted to create my own Androids. But maybe i'll take classes for it I'm only 14. I want to create the fnaf Characters as androids.
+MY ART STUDIO CHANNEL 2015 Of course you do.
I hope they'll make a Mickey Mouse animatronic someday. What? They're just not connected to the mouse anymore. Shame, really.....
then you must have automatonophobia
No you don't. Trust me. You don't. It's actually horrible, even if it has a grinning exterior.
@thecopykidofthestarz Michael Eisner ruined Disney's animation industry.
I wanna see them without their "skin"
AMERICA FUCK YEAH!!!

I knew there would be comments about FNAF, which is great because I like the game too.
