Since the Supreme Court has already decided government can not ban firearms in common use, each politician that voted for or signed this bill into law should be held financially liable for all costs of litigation and all punitive fines/fees awarded by the court as well.

Also a reminder, legal penalties for violation of Oath of Office include removal from office AND either a fine, confinement, or death or all 3. We have had a ban on "assault" weapons here in Maryland for 10 years. It has done nothing to stop or slow down gun crime or gun violence... just made the state more money from people that follow the law.

Since the Supreme Court has already decided government can not ban firearms in common use, each politician that voted for or signed this bill into law should be held financially liable for all costs of litigation and all punitive fines/fees awarded by the court as well.

Also a reminder, legal penalties for violation of Oath of Office include removal from office AND either a fine, confinement, or death or all 3. (5 U.S.C § 7311, 5 U.S.C § 3331, 18 U.S.C § 2381-2390, 18 U.S.C § 1918, 18 U.S.C 241/242, 42 U.S.C § 1983) According to the U.S. Constitution article 6 section 2, "immunity" from the constitutional rule of law doesn't exist, and the FBI/ATF/whatever is 1 pencil whip away from existence by ANY president. @Jim Combs it's true though, and people making purchases and complying with the illegal nfa are part of the problem, because they keep enabling ATF to be falsely justified with further extortion on our rights. Murdock V Pennsylvania 319 U.S. 105 (1943), taxation of rights was ruled by SCOTUS as unconstitutional and unlawful to enforce. They keep getting away with it because people keep buying in to the ATF/FBI's intimidation bs. They can't tell you that YOU are the criminal when they go ahead and sell illegally confiscated firearms directly to the cartels. They should all be on trial (among the other numerous crimes they commit).
Also, yes they sold weapons to cartels, it's called "Operation Fast and Furious", they are actively working on destroying all evidence that it happened (which is another federal crime, wouldn't surprise me if they tried to claim "immunity" over it should they fail).

We have had a ban on "assault" weapons here in Maryland for 10 years. It has done nothing to stop or slow down gun crime or gun violence... just made the state more money from people that follow the law.

This didn't do too well in Connecticut. The "register" your legally purchased rifle and pay us a fee to do it" wasn't received well. People saw "registration" just a step away from "confiscation".. And the" fee" was looked upon as a discriminatory, revenue-generating tax on guns that were taxed at point of sale..This will be interesting to watch..

At the time of my post 87 sheriffs have refused to enforce this new 'law', the governor has no control of the sheriffs as they are voted into office, not appointed as police chiefs are, any they are accountable to the voters who voted for them, and it appeared that they are taking the Oath they swore seriously.
