    1965 and 1966 Mustang Fastback full replacement body shell by Thoroughbred GT at SEMA 2013. I interview V.P. John Miller as he discusses what separates their replacement body shells and "skeletons" from the others. Full or partial replacement for that wrecked or rusty Mustang Restoration project. Works on converting a coupe to fastback too.

    Cheaper than the competition for buying new bodies. if you had a rusted up donor then this body would be great.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  11 лет назад +3

      And cheaper than many will spend repairing and patching a car body that is too far gone.

    how easy is to buy a rusted out car from georgia for $500 with title and put that vin number onto the new one and build your new car. just take it to the motor vehicle and register it. i doubt it would be hard to do...i am in nj and have bought 2 fastbacks 1 from indiana the other from Cali and no problem with title and reg

      leloodallasmultipass I am convinced their is a market for a removable cowl retro fit set up for the early cars.

      leloodallasmultipass Why would you want the cowl to be removable?

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  9 лет назад +3

      Dave Brittain To be more specific the top cowl panel because you have a way to clean out the debris( leaves, bugs, dirt ) that gathers and plugs the cowl vents. So many of the early Mustangs have rusted cowl assembly for this reason and they are major work to repair. Staring in 1969 Ford changed the design to a removable cowl set up.

    Anyone with a better idea? Someone some real competition for the 2014 Mustang, does this not give you the idea to turn the clock back to 1965-1966...??

      The demand is clearly there, for now anyway, to have these replacement bodies on the market.

    The most obvious question is "MADE IN USA?????"

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  10 лет назад +1

      If you mean the actual stamping's , they are done overseas if I recall correctly. The assembly and therefore the tolerances and gaps can be quality controlled much better.

      why I sold mine , all the new parts made in china !!, original parts thru the roof.

    • @dallasharris8753
      @dallasharris8753 5 лет назад +1

      Dan Cardin, it looks great... glad that see that they are remanufacturing them, only sad thing is they are made overseas tho, so much for “Made in the USA 🇺🇸”. but assembled here instead.... bring back jobs and manufacturing in the United States of America.... where the original pony cars were made !!! Now the Chinese are gonna reproduce them there and copy them to sell cheaper knockoffs like they did the Ford trucks.... Overall , Nice job tho!! We can do all this in the USA 🇺🇸 and still manufacture and sell a quality product !!!!

    Do you know if there's anyone do Gran Torino sheet metal parts I've got a 73 GTS and there's some metal parts I'm looking for.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  7 лет назад +1

      I don't think any one is making sheet metal for those. Probably going to have to source some good used. MAC auto is a place to check or Perogie enterprises in NJ for sourcing good used.

    Fyi...The dual exhaust rear frame reinforcements are also in the K code cars, not just the GT's.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  7 лет назад +1

      Yes of course any of the duel exhaust cars which would mean all GT A and K codes and yes the K code did not have to be a GT.

      Auto Metal Direct does something similar but with an original shell as the starting point. I believe Dynacorn is doing the E bodies.

    I have a '66 2+2 that has been in my family since '71 it has spent it's life in California, garaged and well maintained. It takes a lot of love to keep a car that long and when I take it out it is always the only one on the road... kind of depressing for me that now they can easily be purchased new and a few more might be the street.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  8 лет назад +1

      +ROLLINGTHUNDER Sounds like you have a great car, I'm sure there is room for a few more on the road as not sure how often people will actually be driving them.

    • @rollingthunder1751
      @rollingthunder1751 8 лет назад

      +MustangConnection1 Thanks for the reply and you're most likely right, there may be room for a few more,,,, just not on my road lol ; ) Great channel, keep it up!

      so your depressed that others can have what you have. odd, you are one notch above the type that lets one rot into the ground instead or selling it to someone that will restore it and put it back on the road.

    the problem with a new shell is it can not be registered as a 65 as it is ilegal to remove tags from a donner 65 mustang

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  4 года назад

      It depends on the state but this company is no longer in operation. The dynacorn bodies are considered legal "replacement parts". 65's only have the Vins stamped on the front aprons no tags.
