Sudhir, you missed one important nuance in the movie. In the intro comic, maaveeran rescues princess from the falling palace "maaligai". In climax, maaveeran rescues a kid named Ilavarasi (princess) from Makkal Maaligai. If you noted, after the first comic the same Ilavarasi from the slum would exclaim he could've drawn her face instead as the princess in the comic. That's the connection of intro comic to climax. So Maaveeran was destined from the beginning, as his own comic came alive at the end. 🙂

Some people found the climax to be over commercial, when they show that he is not dead even after such a huge collapse. But if we look from the start, he gets to hear the voice only after he is considered dead for a few seconds. Be it the first time when he gets to hear the voice or the second time when he is drowned. The same happens in climax. The voice stops and he gets it back again after he is dead once again.

Sudhir. As usual you review the movie well! I have a question to writer and director why always go behind minorities and talking about system and politicians when. Nothing will change within us. I have been watching similar movies for at least 35 years since I’m aware social issues or problems, I only see humans in reel and very little in reality so why always show minorities acting like when people will watch and simply Dan follow the hero’s as god father and they enjoy common people money and never care for anything apart from increasing their assets and nothing more. Simply waste of time nothing more.
