Hello, I am new to this Psoriasis world. I'm 38 Latino. I've had ashy elbows for years but always thought I never used enough lotion that day. Well this year things got super worse and my elbows turned in to scabbing daily and then small spots started popping up all over my body now. So I made doctor appointments and have been seen by dermatologist now and confirmed I have Psoriasis. They say I am passed using creams and should start to think injection (tremfya) .... im super nervous and scared at the same time. I'm not in the best of shape right now. Last year I planned on having bariatrics surgery but I never went thru with it. And now I have to deal with this skin mess....I have a fiance and 2 kids hopefully she will be very supportive with me. Right now I've been trying to find a good bodywash to use. Because I swear every time I shower I get new small spots on different parts of my body. I am a true believer in the power of prayer and I do know that with God by my side all things are possible! I am blessed and covered with the blood of Jesus and I rebuke all illnesses in my body!

I had psoriasis from the age of about 13 to about 40, at one point even in hospital with it. It even got me a medical discharge from the army. I started to take cod liver oil and my psoriasis slowly cleared apart from my two thumb nails. As psoriasis is an immune system disease. When the immune system functions properly, it protects the body against any invaders that might make you sick, such as bacteria, viruses or other pathogens. But in people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, the immune system goes into action even without these outside invaders. I have also started to take vitamins and minerals which work on the immune system, vitamin C and zinc. (I found out I am low on vitamin D and have been prescribed it). Cod liver oil has vitamin D added and is high in omega 3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to boost immune function and reduce inflammation so I have been taking more of this as a ground flax seed on my breakfast, now my thumb nails have returned to near normal. Vitamin D also helps the immune system against COVID-19,

Derek Bainbridge thank you so so much for sharing your experience and what has worked for you! I’ve been slacking off on my vitamins and what I eat. I do agree with the vitamin D and Omega 3 helping. I have to get back on track. Some ppl keep saying psoriasis is a fungus in the gut. What are your thoughts? I disagree with it but I’m curious for thought with long my psoriasis community. sending you good vibes!

@@ZaileeMadrigal It has been shown psoriasis has it's origin in out auto immune system. 80% of your immune system resides in our digestive track. In order to absorb the nutrients from digested food, intestinal permeability is important, but too much permeability means undigested food, bacteria, and their toxins (called endotoxins or LPS) that normally pass through your GI tract, instead migrate across the intestinal barrier and into your bloodstream.
White blood cells called T cells become overactive, producing excess amounts of cytokines, these chemicals trigger inflammation in the skin and other organs. In the skin, the inflammation produces three characteristic findings: widened blood vessels, accumulation of white blood cells, and abnormally rapid multiplication of keratinocytes, the main cells in the outer layer of the skin. In healthy skin, keratinocytes take about a month to divide, mature, migrate to the skin surface, and slough off to make way for younger cells. But in psoriasis, the entire process is speeded up to as little as three to five days. The result is thickened, red skin that sheds silvery scales of keratinocytes that have matured before their time.
In short I think taking foods that are known to reduce inflammation and boost the immune system are key in helping the condition, such as fatty fish, broccoli and turmeric for example, together with vitamin C and zinc that boost the immune system.

Girl. I've had psoriases since I was 11. It's been 8 years, and it's mostly all over my scalp (bad), and it's starting to spread over my body. I work at a pizza place & I've noticed it's started spreading over my body since I've worked there and I eat pizza all the time. ANYWAY. I've never heard the advice your dermatologist gave you. And it seriously makes so much sense. I'm going to try out the anti-inflammatory diet because I'm so over this. This video seriously just gave me so much hope.... thank you

@@yanshiighgvjh I haven’t done a very good job at doing an entirely anti-inflammatory diet. It’s hard cutting everything out at once. But I’ve been eating less dairy and I’ve seen a lot of my psoriasis clear up.
I’m just trying to figure out if maybe the weather has anything to do with it, since it’s been warmer outside, or if it’s actually avoiding dairy that’s helping. I’ll update again if I notice any more changes :)

Thank you for sharing your psoriasis story. You inspired me to start a vlog showing my psoriasis journey too. Just to share my treatment, I am taking serpentina tea, fruits and vegetables in the morning. Vitamin A & D, probiotic, vitamin c with collagen and prescribed steroid ointment for body and steriod cream for my face. I am also advised by my dermatologist to start taking methotrexate with folic acid but I'm still hesitant. Praying for your healing.

Hi If i may ask, can you confirm if your stools are mushy/liquidy when psoriasis is active and it is solid/semi-solid when psoriasis is inactive?
Did you have psoriasis in phases like once or twice a year?
If so, are there any triggers when it is activated?
Do you feel lethargy when active or it is just only skin condition?
Thanks in advance. BTW you look gorgeous and can't believe you have gone through all that horror. appreciate your spirits.

@@ZaileeMadrigal There is a connection between psoriasis and candida, 70% of people who have psoriasis have candida (fungi) in their gut, you two should check that angle, the best (and imo only) way to check for candida is to do a comprehensive stool test which will map out EVERYTHING that goes on in your gut (bad bacteria vs good, parasites and more) like GI360 or CDSAx3, it costs around 400$ and can only be done in the US in specific labs, there are people who claim that once they got rid of their candida their psoriasis went away as well afterwards, that might also be why diet wasn't helping, you need both the diet + antifungal stuff to kill the candida
