Ratties try DIY food forage toy

It's reallyyyy not that great but I used what I had on hand. I peeled off the outside pieces of cardboard that had black ink on them just in case it's the toxic kind, and (plastic) yarn probably isn't the safest thing for rats but I'm using it until I get some all natural jute or cotton rope. It is filled with their rat kibble, a few banana chips, and a few unsalted almonds.
But the rats seem to be enjoying it! I made another that was just a stack of cardboard squares and a single strand of yarn with a pompom at the end, they tore it down after three days, dragged it into their grass tent, then proceeded to shred up all of the cardboard 😆 They're so fun to watch 💕
