Nah, words matter.
I mean Drake got some real life bodies because of things said by him. People don't really talk about it, but that's how some of your favorite rappers ended up deceased. And for those of you who don't know, Drake has alluded to some people several times in many songs.
I think it was a good thing for Cole to step out, because Kendrick was talking way spicy , on or off the court of hip hop. I think that's because of Drake's low key rep, and he was indicating that he would take it to any level Drake really wanted to take it to.
I think Cole caught some strays that riled him up, but when he thought about it, that's how he decided to bow out of it.
Personally, I think Cole would body all three of them if he actually tried, he's been doing it to every rapper on their songs for nearly a year and a half straight now.
AT LEAST Drake had the balls to go all in with Cole on first person shooter. We can't even get Kendrick to commit to a real song or album between the two for real.
