- Hurricane Irma came through Florida last night and left a TON of damage in her wake. We have a decent amount, but not nearly as much as others closer to the coast. We're bummed, but thankful!

I live in tornado alley, and there was one time when I was young when a tornado watch was issued. I was very scared and anxious, but luckily we didn't get a tornado, and everything was fine.

So for your “longer than lightning” question I think I have an answer, there is many different types of lightning, the most common being sheet lightning. But there is also many other kinds like spider lighting that can result in a 13.5+ second long flash. You may have seen spider lightning, not sheet. And that may be why it lasted so long. As for the jolly rancher green sky, when you see a green sky during a storm, it’s because the air molecules scatter the light causing it to have a green effect. Hope this helped :)

@@NotBritishAlex actually it doesn’t mean tornado, it just means strong storm, strong storms cause air molecules to scatter and water droplets reflect red sunlight which radiates green frequencies, strong storms can make tornados which I guess could show to prepare for one
Or heat lighting, which is a pinky kinda color of lighting, its kinda like pink sheet lighting. Im in nc and on the summer months we get alot of heat lighting on hot days. It isnt dangerous from what i know but its extremely pretty!

Fix the seal on the front door as well as get the seals checked in the bedroom and the office.

The calm-ish rain is what we call a raging storm lol but it has some lightning and thunder ⛈
If I was in that situation, I would be terrified. No joke, once it was a tornado warning and I saw that the wind stopped and the animals were silent with no rain, and I hid in the basement hallway even though nothing happened

it’s called the eye, the bad thing is the worst parts of a tornado or hurricane is that the parts closest to the eye are the most dangerous; which means getting out of the eye puts you straight thru the worst parts

Hey Tmartn my dads company Heritage Construction and Roofing is a roofing company that's rated 5 starts according to the BBB (Better Business Bureau.) They do a really good job if u have a problem with your roof or need it replaced! And there located in Central Florida in Casselberry!

I know this is late and you probably won't see this but still wanted to share. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and when Hurricane Matthew hit I was NOT prepared. I was literally at a 7-1-1 and had no clue what was going on. ( I was 8 at the time) It started pouring rain and we couldn't see anything. It was raining so hard when we were trying to get back to our house that giant branches that broke off trees were flying. My Mother told me to keep my head down and I did, Until we got to the entrance of our neighborhood. I looked up and i saw a 4 foot long branch fling off a tree and hit the side of our car. Everything was in slow motion and I had adrenaline in my veins. We got to our house and bolted inside, At least my family did. When the branch hit the side of our car it jammed the door on the car. I had to climb across the car, stuck inside and open the door on the other side of the car. That was the most scariest encounters i have ever had with Mother Nature.
Lol that is how we are with our neighbors. We live in apartments and both of our neighbors and my family all traded walkie-talkies and we live where we get tornados mainly so when happens the neighbor to the farthest right hits the walls so we know to turn on our WTs and then we run to the other end of the apartments and do the same to the neighbors on the far left... we call it our system and it works! Lol

When hurricane Irma hit the island of Anguilla in the Caribbean (where I live) it was really scary and really dark before it actually came. It even destroyed most of my dad's house but luckily, he was at my grandma's house because she called him over just in case and boy was she a life saver. I even remember in the evening my stepdad's mother called him and told him that her house was already flooded somehow because she lived quite near the sea but she wasn't even that close!
Good thing we can’t get Hurricanes as I live in Ontario, but we get lots of storms and tornadoes around my province, 30 yrs ago there was F-4 Tornado here in my city. We’ve had tornado warnings (LOTS) but just sunshine.

I was in my house in Virginia suflok when this happened but we were fixing it up for the new owners and one night we were in a huriccan and we lost power for 2 weeks to a month and that's when I was 5 I'm 10 right now and I'm living in California and we only had one earthquake so far. I love your videos keep it up!
And a couple weeks before t he hurricane we had so many tornado warning go off on my mom's phone but the sky was cloudy and it was light gray. They trees next to the house were moving like crazy and a couple times I felt the house lift.😥

I went through the same hurricane except in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It was a lot worse. We had to evacuate when it was over. It was a category 5.

Came across your video I to live in Florida we now live in Sebring, Fl I have a tip to help keep water out use silicon around the doors and windows to fill all the cracks then when I the storm is over you can just pull it up no mess. It works well.
