  • Unboxing of this British made cycle light set. The TRACE Mk2 and TRACER have 125 and 75 lumens respectively. I bought them mainly for day use in order to improve my visibility since they have a distinctive DayBright flash pattern.
In the video I compare them with the Cateye Volt200 (front) and Moon Nebula (rear) lights which although they have higher lumen outputs I think they are less visible in daylight.

Excellent video, thanks for posting. When looking at decent lights, pattern and options are all-important but usually only given cursory mention in reviews. The effort put in to this is much appreciated - especially the comparison side by side. Thanks.

Such a simple but excellent and clear review thank you! This was the first review of the lights that I’ve seen that has shown them mounted to a bike and compared to other lights in daylight. THANK YOU! I’m looking at getting something for cycling in India and these look excellent! Do you think the rear light would mount in a helmet?

Hi Roger, thanks for the comment. Yes the rear light should mount in a helmet OK. It is small and light and Exposure sell a couple of different helmet mounts.

Hi. Thanks for posting this review. Could you tell me if the lights can be used to see in the dark or is it just to be noticed. Thank you

Hi Lee, I would say it is mainly for being seen. It is not really strong enough for seeing your way if it is very dark. Regards, Chris.

@Lee Edwards Hi Lee. If you want a really good well built front light I'd go for the Hope R2i. It's expensive but you won't need to buy another light.
I've got a Exposure TraceR at the back and Hope R2i for the front and that should be my lights totally sorted for a very long time.
