Thanks Julie! Was a big surprise to find silver, let alone 2 nice pieces, on that short hunt. Hope all is well with you & yours and trust you enjoyed Thanksgiving! Thanks as always for watching x
Hi Cynthia! Hope you and yours are all safe and well, and trust you enjoyed Thanksgiving! Thankyou as always for watching - the Gertrude piece turns out, thanks to one of my subs, to be part of a sweetheart brooch - so I love it even more! Thank you again, have a lovely weekendx
Thanks Lesley! I do love the old toys / parts that sometimes come up. Hope you & yours are all good - bet you're still basking in those wonderful golden discoveries recently! Hope to see you soon, and thanks as always for watching x
Cheers John mate! Couldn't quite believe my eyes when that coin came out of the clod.....I genuinely thought it was going to be a fancy pewter button! Hope all is well mate? Have a top weekend
Cheers as always Percy mate! Was very surprised to see Billy 3 come up - wasn't expecting that! I've seen you've posted your latest vid up mate, so look forward to watching later! Take care bud
Hi Doug mate - happy Thanksgiving my dear friend! Hope you are doing ok & getting stronger! Gertrude is such a cool traditional name, turns out it is part of an old sweetheart brooch, so with your story about your parents I love it even more! It will forever be called "Doug's Mum's Silver". Thanks as always for watching mate x
Such a great couple of hours there Marcus, brilliant finds and film. Love the shiny silvers especially that William III, cleaned up well that. Thanks for sharing and all the best mate 👍🏻
Cheers Jimbo mate!! Was very surprised to see that coin....genuinely thought it was a button as it was so shallow. Thanks as always for watching pal, always appreciated!
Thanks Paul mate! The W3 was a big surprise, especially the detail on it! Hope all is well with you bud, watched your latest recently & Dave's Saxon was amazing!
Thank you Marcus. Very much enjoyed. That W3 Silver is a cracking find. Most of the time phone ports just need a clean. I use contact cleaner for such times but you can use alcohol-based foam if you have it at work. You can get in with the tip of a toothbrush or use something pointy and non-conductive to gently scrape the contacts. Good luck with it anyway 😉
Thanks Del mate, always nice to see your comments pop up pal. Hope all is well. That coin was a big surprise as I have been over that patch a few times - especially as it was so close to the surface! Thanks re the charging point mate - I managed to get loads of fluff from it after this happened which helped a lot. I'm going to order some of that contact cleaner you mentioned, as that seems to make sense too! Thanks as always mate!
Great couple of hours hunt Marcus. Congrats on the silver and most of all the W3 shilling. The bust is magnificent. Very cabinet worthy. Good luck on the next outing. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍
Cheers Andrew mate - was so pleased to find a couple of bobby dazzlers in such a short period of time! Love to you & Viv mate, and thanks as always for watching
Great to see you out mate, that’s a good haul for a relatively short hunt. That Willi 3rd was gorgeous. I hope to be out Sunday for some Roman hunting. Cant wait not been out for 6 weeks. 😊
Hi Andy mate! Was so pleased with that W3, especially as I was there just the couple of hours!Hope you managed to get out my friend! Thanks as always bud
Hi Marcus , well you certainly had better weather than us mate what a wonderful day for it and some nice finds popping up to the William the 3rd is a little belter or should i say William of orange 😁 , as for Gertrude i have no idea who she is but her family must have had a few bob 😂 , good effort as usual my friend best wishes and good luck ATB Rob 🙋♂👍
Cheers Rob mate - always so pleased to receive your comments & kind words. Must admit, I really thought the William was going to be a button as it was so shallow. Amazing how I've missed it before now as I've done that patch a few times. Weather down here not been so great since I filmed this one pal, bloody cold & wet in fact! Come back Spring, all is forgiven! Hope you and yours are safe and well my good friend, and thanks as always
Thanks Ash mate - spooky as I've just finished watching yours and Gaz's latest episodes! Hope all is well with you mate, appreciate you stopping by as so pleased to see you banging out content again x
@Notchedto11 thanks mate and yes I'm back on it and enjoying it. Sadly a week ago I did my back in really badly and still really struggling with it, work has been really tough. Hopefully won't be long till I'm back fighting fit. Luckily I still have two videos to edit and get out!
Cheers Martin mate - good to hear from you again over the last week or so, and hope you are out swinging again soon. In the meantime, I really do appreciate the support my friend!
Here, those high numbers, mean good chance for something silver, 78 and up, is what we look for. Stunner coin mate, what an excellent start after yer vacay👍👍.
Thanks Keith mate! Was very surprised to find that coin so close the surface after 300+ years. It's no longer ploughed but there is evidence of historic ploughing, so there seems to still be plenty of targets for me! Hoping to be on the same field this weekend! Take care pal
Hi Marcus, the silver item with GERTRUDE on is a Victorian sweetheart brooch. The William III shilling was lovely, not sure I can get onboard with polishing it into a mirror though 🤣 Sounds like you need to replace the charging port in ya phone mate. I phoned in sick today so on the sofa blasting RUclips. Ennoyed the video, it made me want to go metal detecting!!
Thanks as always mate. Yes, the sweetheart brooch was a surprise - a few people have since ID's it as such! If you ever over clean silver you can pop it in some bleach for a few seconds, which will re-oxidise it, then you can gently wipe it to put the grey definition back! I haven't done it with this one....I can see me face in it hehehehehe
@@Notchedto11 yes I've done that before, bit its not quite the same and certainly not authentic. I stopped polishing old silver coins a while back, unless they are in smooth or poor conditon
Well done on double silver. Lovely William III (William of Orange). Found my first a few weeks ago and a real buzz. If you struggle or don’t like the red cap, let me know and I’ll send what I use. ( strangely an end cap for a Sthil tool) but have a spare! Have a good weekend matey.
Cheers Paul mate - most kind of you my friend. So pleased with the W3 coin - only the 2nd shilling of his I have found, and by far the best. Thanks for the offer on the end cap pal, I shall keep you posted!
God bless you Gene mate! Thanks as always for watching mate - definitely some form of crack on the neck there! It's a pleasure to have you along for the ride my friend!
Nice double Silver Marcus, that Gertrude piece was from a brooch, a friend of mine found a similar one that said Gertie, good coulple hours my friend. ATB Bill and Julie x 👍😊❤
Thanks you two, as always, for watching. Had no idea about these sweetheart brooches until this video came out! So cool, and it's straightened up lovely! Thanks again you lovely pair!x
cracking hunt Marcus mate. well done on the silvers. yes the hollyland mics are great, but I noticed they work better with the usb C type lead (or iPhone equivalent) but when I use a 3.5 jack in my old phone, the audio isn't as crystal clear. so newer phones have better audio function. also, be careful which way round you have the mic. the clip should be on the back, as it can muffle the mic as I found out on my finds pouch review. all the best for the group dig nobber 🙂👍
Cheers Jas mate - definitely not the mics this time. Since discovered it was the charging port....full of rubbish & dust. Still don't trust it though so have switched to an old phone which is working much better. Thanks as always for watching my old nobber!
Gavin, you are a legend sir!! That's a great ID and having looked online, you are spot on! Thank you so much, it had me scratching my head!- I like it even more now! Thanks again for watching mate, Marcus
Get yourself a can of air duster and give your charging port a blast, could be a build up of crud preventing it connecting properly, been there, find that. Great video as always 😁
Thanks Paula - that's exactly what I have done (as well as using a small pick to extract some of the crust) and it seems to be working much better now! Great tip! Hope you are well & thanks as always for watching
St. Gertrude? My cat is named Gertrude because she was found (or she found me) as a stray on March 17, St. Gertrude's day. Patron saint of cats and people who take care of cats.
Oh wow, that's amazing Carol....I hadn't realised that Gertrude was a Patron Saint. I bet your cat was very pleased to find someone so nice to take care of her! The little sweetheart brooch I found is a special find, and sits proudly in my cabinet. Thanks again for watching my videos, massively appreciated. Marcus
Cheers Paul - funnily enough I spent about half an hour this week doing exactly that. Tons of fluff came out so am hoping it has helped! Watch this space! Thanks mate, much appreciated
Hi m8 iv just got the d2 ws6 master what program would you say I should start off with Iv only ever used the simplex before so I'm not sure where to start thanks in advance. Love your videos by the way
Hi Darren mate! So sorry for the slow reply, I've had a manic weekend & start to the week. Thanks for watching, and your kind words. Starting on the D2 I would just stick to P1 which is the general mode, just to get used to the numbers, tones etc. Once you are comfortable I see many people use either the Relic (P9) or Deep HC modes. Both very good imo. Hope it goes well bud, Marcus
lots of finds again mate. 😲
