This is something a lot of videos don't cover when it comes to the ps5.
Playing a 4k ultra hd bluray on a ps5 is fully supported
For me is not playing in Dolby Vision… just HDR… why is that? I have a TCL 4K with 144Hz that supports all Dolby features and so on…
@@MrMakksPower ps5 only supports hdr10, not vision or hdr10+. it does support atmos, but that's audio

@lmstudio4298 I must agree especially if you have 4k blu ray that uses HDR. I tested out a 4k on my PS5 because someone bought it instead of a regular blu ray by mistake. the problem with 4k that is looks damn dark in some dark lighted scenes. so, if you have a 4k disc and don't have a 4k monitor. you're better off sticking with blu ray since most 4k movie on 4k would come with both 4k disc and standard blu ray disc of the same movie.. similar to what many blu-ray packaging come with a dvd copy. by the way. the PS5 can play 4K disc, blu ray, and regular dvd's. since 4K players including the PS5 are backward compatible to blu ray and dvd.
My Ps5 won’t let me play a 4K UHD alita disc. It says that I need a 3D blu-ray player and a 3D tv but it’s not a 3D disc🤨 please help.
Are you sure? That’s sounds like a weird problem. Try restarting the system. Try uninstalling the disc player app and reinstall it.
@@thephilosopher5799 My ps5 says the same if the disk is in there at start up. I am getting glitches in some 4k blu ray using ps5 and it is very frustrating, nothing seems to work and I am not happy with ps5 disk player.

Being able to summon the playback info is all I need to know. It's a pain in the ass with CEC and my TV's info panel becomes a cluttered mess with it turned on.
What the hell what happens if I never get the disc icon no matter what I put in ???? Did mine just come to me brand fuckin new & already broken ????

Hate to break it to y’all but it definitely does do this. I bought Scarface | 4K UHD brand new from Best Buy and towards the end of the film it freezes and skips. No scuffs, scratches or anything was on the disc. It’s not a lot that it happens but it still happens.

@srilankanguy8737 yep , it plays some but not most and they're brand new with no scratches, plays ps5 games no problem and like 3 4k movies but most 4k movies it won't read

@srilankanguy8737 I know it doesn't make sense and like I said ps5 games all work , the 4k movies that work are Snyders Justice League trilogy but Black Adam won't read, Blue Beetle won't, venom nor Venom 2 will work but all Blu-rays and DVDs work , idk makes no sense to me and it's frustrating

My tv remote controls my ps5 but my tv is a sony as well, so that might make a difference...
Yes, the Remote works for the PS5. Tested on my own LG TV via CEC-Link

Yes. There's finally a remote for the PS5 after skipping PS3 & PS4 for no reason because there was one for the PS2.

I believe BluRays are region locked on the PS5.
They are Region A, B and C.
Region A: North America, South America, U.S. Territories, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia
Region B: Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
Region C: Asia (except for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia)
Region FREE: This is not an official setting, but discs that have the region FREE symbol either have no flag set or have all region flags (A, B & C) set.
As for 4K BluRay, I'm unsure if discs or players are region locked.
4K UHD players (the SONY PS5 being one of them) are, by definition, region-free as are 4K UHD discs. They are also universal DVD and standard blu ray players. This means a 4K UHD blu ray player will literally play any disc. 📀💿
@@SamsungA-lj1zo so if you were to insert a french 4K uhd disc into say a ps5 from the USA does it detect it and default to English ?
@Masterofpuppet136 It would not change the language unless there is an option for English. You'll have to try it and see if there is English language option available

I read that games and 4K Blu rays are region-free. However standard blu-rays are region locked.

But the Ps3 can Play Music DVDs and the Ps4 and Ps5 not because of a Change in the System I think.
