Sometimes it helps to just transmit right through that QRM like you don't even hear it. It stinks, but it sure feels like intentional QRM is becoming more frequent. I love to see the activation on an FT-817. I haven't had great luck with mine on SSB, but it's such a nice radio I really should give it more chances to shine.
have you tried the sotabeams compressor that goes inline with the mic? looks like he has one in the video. Easily bumps your signal for ssb. I have seen a bit improvement.

Working thru the QRM worked, thankfully. The 817 is a workhorse. I’ve even worked Field Day with it. Thanks for watching!
