What I love is that there are two players running back too in case someone actually does beat their offside trap. We've all seen an offside trap which fails miserably and then it's 10 vs the goalie.
8:04 The offside trap won’t work more than once though. Just put someone to run in later than the others and leave the ball for them if you are offside. To counter this, the goalie would have to start out earlier, but then it’d be possible to score at the near post. Even then, the trap requires extreme cohesion and timing. As the offside line showed, there was still one person who was onside. He’d have ages to get off a shot if the ball went to him. A free kick from that position isn’t dangerous enough to risk such a chance for the opponents.
If you follow the Japanese teams long enough you did know that they aren’t that strong in set piece. So this may not look dangerous, but the confident of handling this situation against the opponent of Ivory Coast quality may not be as strong as well. Thus this improvisation. Turns out well, and back up plan also there, with 4 in the box defending as well.
I'd say that was more of a mistake by the blue jerseys than a good fake. Maybe the setter sold it a little, but it looks like blue's middle blocker just completely zoned out lol.
Moving around different countries when I was younger blessed me with the love of the nba, football, cricket and rugby, you wouldnt believe how many people you can be friends with by knowing different sports
8:04 I don't understand why more teams don't step up for free kicks! I've always thought about this. If teams do, I would make a rule stating you cannot be offside from a free kick, thereby supporting the attacking ethos of the game.
It only takes one defender out of about 9 to forget or move a little too late and then it's 6 attackers against the goalkeeper, so an almost certain goal. So very high risk. Maybe it suited Japan in particular because they have such a short team in height.
i love the various little slow flicks over the top when defenders/goalies/whatever are expecting a powerful attack, really gives them time to think about what they've done as they slowly watch the ball or puck float past them
Yeah, that was not using his brain, that was a foul. They were lucky they managed to trick the referee, though, since they made him believe he dropped the racket after it touched the ball, which was clearly not the case.
@@TheGuyCalledX that is also I how I felt toward the “American” football clip. It’s a decently common wildcat type of play. Honestly across all of college football you will probably see that play attempted over 100 times in a year if not more.
I was actually apart of a team that pulled the last offsides trap, nearly the exact same play. I was a sweeper CB at the time and my stopper had told the entire team before the game that we'd do it when he called "the play" before defending a set piece. Worked the exact same way, we all ran up and the entire offensive force was offsides. It's hard to pull off and requires coordination and communication before the game. Awesome to see it pulled off at the pro level.
I was a keeper and hated the offsides trap. A combination of timing and refs made it a pain. So many 2+ v me with no flag. Sweeper was my best teammate even if least fav off the pitch lol.
The umpire messed up at that tennis point. The racquet has to be in your hand at the moment of contact with the tennis ball. It can fly off your hand after contact, but you're going to lose the point if you throw your racquet at a ball in order to hit it.
Just an FYI about the tennis clip: if your racket leaves your hand before making contact with the ball in order to get the ball back over the net, the point doesn’t count.
The one where he picked up an opponents shoe and throws it down the court like a spoiled middle schooler? Yeah, that's definitely the D (for Dirty) Wade I remember lol
MJ boxed his teammate so what ever thing you have with D wade he does not care he was one of the best players during his prime and known through his time in the league and that's what am watching the games for not how they behave
While these were fun, they were not related to the title of this video at all; especially the basketball ones. These were set plays and instinct plays.
The tennis guy with the weak, short service was disrespectful. It is allowed in tennis but there is a gentleman agreement not to do it. I loved the volleyball guy who didn't touch the ball.
Yes, you are quite correct, although just for the record, the point was wrongly awarded to the Bryan brothers (serving) by the umpire. But despite this, it's not a '100% brain' play anyway, just a lucky shot and a misrule by the umpire. Further video of the point is available here: ruclips.net/video/g8OxC-PRtqc/видео.html
Looks like Basketballers and Footballers are the smartest. I still have no clue though what happened in the volleyball ones, and what happened in the last soccer one. The players in white, including the one who recieved the ball were all offside
6:50 great play by Tre but he blatantly traveled. It's great to see highlights, but not when rules are broken to make it happen. This is why basketball is dying - it ruins the game's integrity.

Yeah it's a one time thing, you better not try to do it again or it can go poorly for you
Based on what I noticed they had back up defenders chase down the middle in case a cross came in from the wings. Its a risk but it paid off that time
If you follow the Japanese teams long enough you did know that they aren’t that strong in set piece. So this may not look dangerous, but the confident of handling this situation against the opponent of Ivory Coast quality may not be as strong as well. Thus this improvisation.

Football covers 99% of the world though
Liverpool´s corner goal vs. Barcelona is the definition of "When players use 100% of their brains", yet it´s not in there.
I mean the players are playing for liverpool so they're already not using 100% of their brains to begin with
