Filip Kawulok My guitar arrived yesterday! Here is a quick review for those considering this guitar. I have a 2011 TE 808 which is the production model of Tommy’s guitar. I immediately went and got it for a comparison to the TE Personal. My 808 is a particularly good one with some very nice flame wood on it. Over the years it has opened up nicely and no longer sounds boxy and stiff. I upgraded to the new Maton pickup system so it now has the same system as the TE Personal. All accounts it’s a great guitar. Visually the Personal looks very much the same as the production 808. The neck profile is also very similar. However, there are some major differences that let you know this is the custom shop guitar. First, the neck has a satin finish. This is a big deal for me as I much prefer the feel of natural wood underneath my hand. It feels like a broken in guitar right from the start. The tone is the same as my 808 but that also is where it ends. The volume of the Personal is much louder. The clarity of the notes sustain for a long period of time. The bass is full and round and even with the highs all across the strings. I plugged both guitars into my AER amp to compare them and the you heard the same differences as you did acoustically. It’s like the TE 808 on steroids!
Hey Tommy, maybe with your next guitar get the Luthier to deliberately put in a decorative decal (a koala, wattle, crocodile or flower or those letters CGP) or something to emulate your 'rough patch', have it that it gets covered so it doesn't get the shiny finish on it. You might be able to get your drum effect without scratching up your poor guitar.
@@TheZuoyou that's a different model of strap, cheaper quality. The one he wears here was handmade in Germany with the highest quality leathers. I found the guy on Instagram and he told me that he has no intention of making another. He wants it to be a one off.

The tune is “Countrywide”. It was the theme to a TV show on the ABC in Australia.
