That woman who thinks she's from the US and says that wages are never equitable and that women are under oppression and that they're doing worse and they're declining has never bothered to read the graduation rates and the hiring rates for corporations and universities in United States. She's the one living in a bubble and it's a bubble of self delusion and idiocy.

I've lived my entire life in the US and I've never once met any woman who has said or thought any of those crazy things you just threw out there lol. It sounds like women just don't like you and it's easy to see why lol and you're bitter about it lol.
Maybe a small minority of crazed extreme feminists think some of those things. But I've never heard or personally known one woman who thinks any of those things.

That's when you realize she's a brainless Liberal who doesn't get to think for herself unless she gets the approval from Democratic women politicians like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi and AOC. That's them female politicians holding their patriarchy over that woman in the yellow blouse. What did she think she will get a free pass just because she's a woman too? Dream on Lady! Those three Democratic women politicians live off the capitalism in America as they proudly support it. Money is what makes them rich and stay in power and Democratic women voters in America put them in at position. Now try squeezing some money out of them?

Even if equal pay would exist, people would still choose something to complain about because we trained our minds to complain.
You can not have equal pay, as you can not have equal beauty, equal intelligence, equal talent, equal charisma, equal values.
      Corruption would exist anyway.
Life isn't bout equality, therefore, we should have a sense of humor and embrace and enjoy the differences in life.
In nature, the birds don't argue with lions about equality.
But I agree that if a woman is talented and passionate about her hobbies she has something to offer for example in music or arts.
But it depends if the art isn't too much supported by some artificial artistic values like software editing. some movies seem too edited by the software
that it's hard to see the human value of the movies.
Beautiful people should appreciate intelligent people and their charisma. Intelligent people should appreciate beautiful people and their charisma. Ordinary people should appreciate charismatic people and charismatic people should appreciate ordinary people and their values.
It's the values that people teach the kids.

I don't like the fact that if they reverse everything backward, they don't allow women to be themselves and be decently elegant, but also they don't allow the men to be themselves and like their own image. Men wear what they want to wear, not what someone tells them to wear. But it's better if humans wear decent clothes. Classy clothes are very attractive.

I didn't see the movie, but from the clips I gather the "humor" consisted of some novel physical comedic devices. That shows where we are as far as humor. It will prove to be unwatchable in 5 years and fall into the same category as Who Framed Roger Rabbit? that also made a lot in the box office, but was really a bad movie, but had novel comedic devices as well.

I absolutely did not want to go and watch this movie, girlfriend basically dragged me, and my opinion was already biased from media and chit chat online. I Left at the end of the movie with a sour feeling and not for the reasons was expecting going in.
I was surprised at some role reversal and some layers of critique that people seem to miss both on the left and the right, there's more depth to it than what's immediately apparent and the movie proved to me we are all too far into our own politics and "confirmation bias" through the things we experience daily to feel better about ourselves, unable to actually pay attention to what's in front of us. I went in expecting feminist propaganda and instead I feel like I watched quite something else. If anything it satirizes both the feminist and the red pill movement. It's more ambiguous than you think. There is another message there that isn't immediately obvious and I would suggest people to watch it, and pay attention past the surface.
That said, the movie is number one for all the wrong reasons, and I'm sure all my blue and pink haired co-spectators missed the point entirely.

I gave it a chance and watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised. I would say it's actually anti-woke if anything. It's a satire that criticizes everyone, the matriarchy and patriarchy with a positive message at the end. It began by saying girls can do more than just being mums and ends by saying we don't have to always be extraordinary and is ok to just want to be a mum and have an ordinary life. Definitely not for kids though, it's made for adult women who used to be girls. It reminded me of chick flicks made in the early 2000s like mean girls and legally blonde. It's silly, fun, and tells people not to be so codependent on others for their self-worth and esteem. Something people seem to be lacking these days. First thing I'm noticing on this panel is what a pretty boy the "Ken" actor is.
Which just goes to prove that men are objectified just like women are.
Barbie has her perfect little body image, but for every Barbie, there is a Ken who is just as "perfect."
Women have complained for decades that Barbie places this high level of expectation on what they are supposed to look like. Just like they whine about how magazines paint them, with all these same expectations.
Have they picked up a GQ magazine lately? Or any of the fitness magazines for men? A bunch of "Ken" dolls in those magazines too, right?
Men may not take it as personally as women do, but they are indeed judged on their looks, their body, the full head of hair they have (or don't have).
The media does a great job pushing those expectations.
And then add to this how much money they make, the kind of car they drive, the address they provide for the little lady, etc. Men have a huge number of expectations placed on them.
And I'm with Piers. I think there are ways of pushing your pro-women agenda without having to drag men down, even if it's supposedly being done in a comedic way that makes men look like doofuses.
But if the only way women can push their narrative is by taking cheap shots at men, it doesn't show a very evolved way of pushing your message. And if it's such a huge concern of women, why is the message being pushed in a cheesy Barbie movie?
And what's with the penis convo? This actress sees this pretty boy who she knows from a reality show and the convo goes instantly to penis and penis size? I mean, we know women obsess over men, their looks and their bodies, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. But this sounds like again, men being objectified in their own right and even being ridiculed over some physical attribute?
I thought women didn't like these expectations of being perfect being forced on them.
But it's okay for them to have expectations of men, I guess.

  • @drewred9308
    @drewred9308 Год назад +3

Capitalism is patriarchy?! Ok, so let’s break this statement down logically.
    - By the lady’s admission, Margot Robbie is a beautiful actress hence people will come to see the film, and “that’s capitalism” is, I’m pretty sure, what she said. So, the capitalist system which benefits beautiful and talented people such as her, allowing her to be a lead actress and to have opportunities 99.99% of men (and women foe that matter) could only ever dream of is “patriarchal”?
    - Similarly, male actors such as Ryan Gosling have big box office pull because millions of women are going to choose to go and watch a film with him in it, is also capitalism. In this case, we have a man with life opportunities that only 99.99% of men could only dream of, because women are free to choose to go and watch a movie with him in it, and thus helping to set the market. Once again, this seems like a capitalist style version of democracy where the beautiful and talented get ahead, not “patriarchy”.
    - Let’s compare this to most non-Democratic nations where significant structural gender inequalities still exist. Where most women are not well educated, and many are functionally illiterate and/or severely mistreated. But somehow it’s the capitalist system that is “patriarchy”?!
That all being said, I’m not a big fan of the capitalist system in its current form. Socioeconomic inequality is higher than ever before, and the rich are robbing from the poor and working people more and more every year, we all saw what happened during Covid. Also, the current trend of countries placing more restrictions on travel is quite disturbing, i.e. “fifteen minute cities” and the new passports required to enter Europe. hopefully we don’t see a return to the old feudal system days where most people weren’t allowed to travel out of their own village. Personally, I quite like the Scandinavian style social Democratic model, basically any that believes in treating people with fairness and dignity. Much better than the current state of affairs where the combination of the rise of social media, rampant capitalism and a decline in religiosity have led to people being treated as commodities, and if you’re seeing as not having as much to offer or you don’t look the right way, you’re treated like garbage. All the while halfwits like Ryan Taylor can get away with being as rude as f..k because society lauds them as “winners” because he was on cough cough…”love island”, while decent, honest people (especially if they’re men) are treated as “losers”. Lord help us. Capitalism definitely has quite a bit to answer for.

Any women here want to give up washing machines, microwave ovens, and cars to be literally tied to the land and spending all day cleaning and washing (while men farmed or hunted all day?). Women were literally the property of their husbands before capitalism and the birth control pill - invented by a capitalist man liberated women.

His exact words were "Don't you dare let your mother know what you're doing on that thing, or she'll kill me". I just said ok, and inside we went for the night. Whenever I came in bleeding or with dirt/grass stains on me or my clothes, I came up with some lame story for her that never happened while riding the motorcycle. Esther is 100% on the mark, as usual.

The first one is correct though, men and women do solve conflicts differently. The problem with her thinking that "wars wouldn't happen" if women were in charge is that the female way of solving problems breaks down the moment all parties aren't subscribing to uncompetitive, risk-averse solutions. As soon as someone decides to just TAKE something because they can, matriarchal solutions fall apart. The best society would ideally have a mix of both the patriarchal and matriarchal, separately governing what they're best at while pushing society forward together.

You only begin to touch on the complexities involved in such an idea as what it would be like if women ran the world. Jordan Peterson would have a field day out of this, and have both of those women for lunch, not Esther, she the only one making sense, of the panel.
The people who run the world will always be the most aggressive ones, which stops the entire concept of the people who run the world could do it peacefully. Just as u said.

The word "capitalism" does not mean what she thinks it means. Oh, and if she thinks women and womens' rights are "under attack" here in the US, she should go on a rampage about all the biological men ruining womens' sports. But she won't.

....hmm....I though Barbie had a not too subtle dig at ultra feminist, as well.
"Why can't we make ordinary Barbies", an important line toward the end of the movie.

Why isn't anyone admitting to how women diss each other for the most insignificant things? If we had matriarchy, some countries may actually go to war over presidents having wardrobe disagreements.
Seriously though, some women make great leaders, but so does some men. So rather than patriarchy or matriarchy, why can't things be based on meritocracy? Seriously though, most modern day arguments are just plain stupid and unnecessary.

If women cared so much about sexual violence, they would not dress sexually provocative. Its only important enough to try and change what the men do and leave alone the women who use their sexuality to openly manipulate society but let us not talk about that.
