I was asked by Gary, "Instead of using an electric hot air gun to heat the plastic bottle, can you use a hair dryer?" I do not think a hair dryer may produce enough heat to cause the plastic bottle to adhere to the can. And the heat would not be as concentrated to the area, as it has a wider mouth than the heat embossing tool I used. But I have not tried that, and can only say that experimentation leads to new discoveries. Therefore, you could try it to see if it works. If anyone has used a hair dryer for this method, please add to this conversation. Thanks for the question. Gloria
Thank you Mrs. E. ! this is a great project for future drummers! Can't wait to share! Wonder if my son (31-oh I feel old) would enjoy this while he's waiting for the Cajon I ordered for him? 🙃
I used a heat gun I use for embossing in my card making. I would imagine if a hairdryer produces the same heat, it would work, but I have not tried that. Good question.
