I find this extremely fascinating...In a few days I will be buying an ESV archaeological Study Bible, and as someone who primarily uses and loves the ESV translation of the Scriptures, I have to say that the KJV version looks very good as well.

Elroy Swarts did you get it. Do you enjoy it as a study guide. I was about to get the Cultural background study Bible in NRSV and then I watched this. Lol

@@MrPawPaw Not yet.It seems to focus more on the archaeology side of things, which is something that may be useful for someone who does apologetics.I'm more interested in something that gives the historical context, customs, and culture of people in Bible times. This Bible has a bit of that too, but it is not exhaustive.

@@elroyswarts513 thanks for reply. I found both study bibles at an online site that are very reasonably priced if I stay with hard covered. Both would cost less than I was paying for cigs in 1 week. Thank God I was delivered from that habit. I'll let you know if and when I actually do get them.
      Blessings

Elroy Swarts well I just ordered them. So excited. Sometimes the Christian walk drives me nuts. Haha. So I was driving and was asking the Lord, “ Should I buy these bibles?” Now I am not saying ‘thus said the Lord’ but this is what instantly came in my head. “Oh, now your going to get all spiritual with your purchases when yesterday you took the family to Celebration Station and then out to eat, spent $150, and never asked me anything. Just be a good steward with what I’ve given you.” What do you do with that? He answers you without really answering you. Do I need another Bible? Prob not. Will a new Bible excite me and I’ll read it with joy and expectancy that our God will speak directly to me? Absolutely. Why am I telling you any of this? I really have no idea but I’m home alone so you’ve been selected to share in my joy. Have a blessed day. Shabbat Shalom

Not sure why so many interesting study bibles are out of print.

Yet another excellent video my friend, you never disappoint. I cannot find that Zondervan in the KJV anywhere under $150 and that's for the hardcover. The bonded leather version is nowhere to be found. I am looking up that book you mentioned by Holden and Geisler, thank you for the information.

I thought the Zondervan only came in NIV. I was excited to find one used in great shape for $60 recently. Sure wish I could find a large print version though.

As you probably know this KJV is long out of print and hard to get without forking out 1-200$. The hardback is rare but the bonded leather version even more so. I have never owned either but I really want it because I studied archaeology, history, and theology so it's always something I incorporate into lectures, sermons, bible studies, etc. I don't come from the evangelical approach to history and scripture. I am more of a conservative and a young earth creationist.
Now I know there are things I will disagree with. But what study bible doesn't have human error? This is not your typical study bible as it's not theology but history and archaeology so even if it's incorrect and biased in some places predicated on theological ideas the writer has, it's still less egregious than say a straight study bible note that I find flagrantly incorrect. Therefore I'm of the "chew the meat, spit the bones" mindset. That said, do you think it's a waste for me to spend close to 150$ on the bonded leather? I think I can get the leather and hardback for around that price. I know bonded leather is not that great and will likely begin breaking down quickly with a lot of use, especially a bible that's likely been sitting in a warehouse for over a decade. This will probably end up as a rebind, though I wanted your opinion on this. Do you think I should save my money for something else? Or is it a good investment? Is the paper decent quality? Seeing that you have the leather and that's where I am leaning, what do you think the gsm is? I actually emailed zondervan/harper collins and they never responded, so I called them. They couldn't find any information about it in their database. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I ordered the ESV Saturday night off Amazon and it arrived yesterday afternoon. So I now have that and the Redeemer (which is awesome) by CBP.
