Thankyou, very informative!
Wonderful, I had read creeping buttercup was rain pollination and was looking for confirmation of this
New to me that it stayed open when it was damp when the other two close over Karen!
p.p. John Feehan: glad to be able to add our confirmatory stamp Karen!
Another brilliant video. I showed this to my students. We then went to identify the buttercups in our school field. We all thought it was fascinating. Thanks very much.
That is fantastic to hear. Great to know they are being shared and discussed.
p.p. John Feehan: particularly delighted that people like yourself are taking it into schools S! Our 3-episode Story of the Bogs (currently in production) is especially targeted at schools.
Excellent video, didn't realize there are 3 species of this menace. It is very welcome in the lawn, not so much in the border.
Hopefully more welcome know you know what to look for in each one John.
p.p. John Feehan: Creeping Buttercup is the real menace here John, if that gets into your border it's hard to get out.
Amazing how those common plants that can be considered weeds in some situations often have such fascinating qualities. A field of clones, all pollinated by the rain, interesting!
On thing that could make this even better would have been some close ups of the buttercups when describing their leaves. An enjoyable video though, and there are always books to see the details.
I agree! It is an eye opener!
p.p. John Feehan: Sometimes it's hard to know what to leave out when you're trying to condense it into 5 minutes!
Is there no nutrition for cattle in buttercups ?
I absolutely love these videos, and John Feehan too. He is so invcredibly knowledgeable. Every horticultural, Agricultural, botany and ecology college course should be sharing these videos. Thank you for them, They are a great collection that will endure. Please keep making them!
As well as the the wonderful narrative, the filming and
photography is immaculate!
I will pass this on to the team Peter - thank you.
We have a great team of volunteers on the film crew who do a super job!

p.p. John Feehan: wonderful to hear Peter, especially pleasing to know we have an enthusiastic Dutch following!
