    Very informative posts you make and excellent engineering construction work keep it up, could you make a video on the importance of the use of solid blocks or the hollow blocks in construction quality especially in Southern Nigeria as i have seen from your videos that you have built with either of this type of block? Thanks in anticipation of your response or video 🙌🏾

    Please what type of foundation is this?
    What do you consider before choosing a foundation

    You said the hollow block will be fill with weak concrete pls explain more on that thank you sir

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  2 месяца назад

      There are different specifications of concrete mix. Weak concrete basically means non-structural concrete that is not as strong as a typical concrete mix design

    Hey! I'm suprised to see blocks arranged like this. Is there a reason for that ?

    Please what's the size of the rod you used for this column?

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  8 месяцев назад

      12mm, but note this is normally based off the specification in the structural engineering drawing

    Will 12mm Rod work for a 3 bedroom duplex columns?

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  2 месяца назад +1

      Not Ideal. I doubt a structural engineer will recommend 12mm for any duplex column. Kindly refer to the specifications in your structural drawings.

      @@Emmanuel_Ejike Thank you Sir very much what would you then advise? To remove the columns and fix 16mm ?

    How many blocks needed from foundation to dpc level pls?

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  11 месяцев назад +1

      Depend on the building size and height of foundation . Could be between 2000- 4000

  • @valnoko3315

    how many trips of laterite used to filling the foundation

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  Год назад

      About 15 trips. This is because of the height of our foundation, could be less

    What is the type of the foundation?

  • @akeemidris5809
    @akeemidris5809 Год назад +1

    Where are you not using hardcore stone for the foundation?

    • @Emmanuel_Ejike
      @Emmanuel_Ejike  Год назад

      Hardcore stone or reinforcement are normally placed underneath the floor slab. In this case, what we are building is a bungalow (without any suspended floor). Adequate compaction should suffice in this case, since the imposed load is not significant and the soil is good. If this were to be a story building, warehouse, fueling station etc or a place with a soil of low strength, then hardcore could be considered.

    • @akeemidris5809
      @akeemidris5809 Год назад

      @@Emmanuel_Ejike so natural hardcore is not required for residential bungalow?
