@hashraptor is it possible to use solar power to power rigs?

At 7:11, you can see the cut-out for the switch on the right panel. The square hole or at least that is where I would put it. Great review.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I totally spaced on the square hole until the very end LOL. Seems like with the solid instructions, they could have dropped in a pic of where the power switch is suppose to go LOL

I found the exact same frame listed under the MLLIQUEA brand on Amazon for less, so I just ordered 2. I'm thinking a combination of push & pull for airflow.

Wow cool. Let me know how that works out. I'm very interested. I just received the fans to setup a rig to do airflow testing.

@@HashRaptor I ordered a few from MLLIQUEA at the end of August and received them 10 days later. Looks to be the exact frame minus the logo on the frame and documentation. I'm planning to block the top two fan cut outs on each side to hopefully create better front to back airflow.

@@HashRaptor I did some non-scientific testing by taping threads to the exhaust end of the chassis to act as streamers. By looking at the streamers I coudn't tell if there were any improved airflow through the GPUs or not. The biggest improvement was when I stacked the frames. I also blocked the holes beneath the motherboard on the upper frame so the hot air from the GPUs wouldn't heat up the motherboard directly. FYI, the fans are mounted to the outside of the frame, mounting it on the inside reduces your max GPU length.

@@HashRaptor I ended up using 12 fans. 5 in the front pushing air, 5 on the back pulling air, and 2 on the left pulling air.

Great review. I am considering the Sluice V2 from AAAWAVE, but I like the stack-able concept from the Dredge.

    • @HashRaptor

      Agreed on both fronts!

It is really effective when soaked in mineral oil to reduce the temperature

Hey man, great content. Would love to see you do some testing with Fans. I would suggest grabbing the Artic fans on Amazon (best performance for the buck $24.99 for 5 pack at fixed RPM). Also consider testing with different airflow variations. Exhausting air is supposed to be always more efficient then pushing air over cards. So im curious to see if you have all the fans pull air/heat away from the rig versus air flowing through it. Just my 2 cents.

Great suggestion! I have fans on the way from aaawave for testing. I'll setup the exact scenario you described. Take care!

Did you ever do a follow up on the effectiveness (cooling) of the these frames?

13:03 looks like ATX power supply it mounts where your finger is and even has a cutout for the fan on the bottom right there

uhm... what's the connection here? These are just china products rebranded... I tried to post a link earlier but it was removed right away.
aaawave are not innovating, they're just resellers of products from aliexpress. Not saying the products are bad, but these are just chinese mining frames with aaawave printed on them.

Can you Build 10 3060 ti mining and how much power supply does it need and how to undervolt it in HiveOS

Not sure how AAAwave can go from a very nice quality 12 gpu frame.. to this mass production bland sheet metal case. Very odd but thanks for the review!

    180 bucks for a frame..

    • @HashRaptor

Yeah, all hardware prices are really high right now. I was actually glad to see them selling this for under $200 TBH.

It's because they buy them from Aliexpress in bulk and then slap their aaa sticker on it LOL.

    • @MiningOffice
      @MiningOffice 3 года назад

Thats the price of the market right now! You can blame the company. Like Hashraptor said, under 200 is actually good!
