The electoral college, in the way it exists today, was to basically try and keep the peace between the north and south, while still maximizing GDP. Or agriculture. Otherwise the north would have won every time due to the lower population in the south, slaves (can't vote), and to give agricultural/farmers fair representation for their work.

As much as I love the Rock, I really hope he doesn't run for office. The reason trump was able to win is because he can talk his way out of anything. The rock as charming as he is, a lot of people know him and the more stuff people know about you, the harder it is, he needs to be able to defend himself when they bring up his sex tape which you know is probably out there somewhere. Love the guy but I don't want to see his reputation ruined by an all out smear campaign. Politics is a dirty game where nothing is off limits. the rock is a former wrestler, you know there is probably a lot of trash talking and as trump would put it "locker room talk" on video.

I LOVE The Rock, but the last thing we need in the White House right now is a Hollywood socialite. Sorry Rock, but don't do it. If you wanna start at the governor level and show us what you can do, go for it. You'd probably win that in a heartbeat. Dwayne has an excellent relationship with "The People." He respects his fans and is humbled by them. If you have noticed, when he is interviewed, he maintains eye contact with his fans, not the host. He gives all of himself to the audience. He genuinely cares about the people, the fans, the audience. People relate to him, and HE relates to the PEOPLE. He'd make an excellent president, end of.
