Hi I would like to know where did you get the ignition 12 v from ? How did you wire it ? (through where) Where did you placed the box with relays and dimmer ? I am trying the same method . have you still got it working ? Thanks
Hi Sreekanth. Thanks for your question. Have a look at this video I did - ruclips.net/video/8omZ545Cw1U/видео.html - which will hopefully show you how to find a switched connection in your vehicle. The relays were placed inside a sealed plastic box and mounted high up in the engine bay of my car so water would never be an issue and yes the lights are still working. A few of of the individual LEDs have stopped working, but there's still enough LEDs lit on both sides to create a bright effect. I plan to make new ones in the new year when the weather is better. Hope this helps : ) Geoff
Just figured it out it goes to ground, right? Also does this operate the left and right lights or is it one for each side. I think it runs both left and right sides but need to be sure.
Hi Tom. No my friend - don't ground it. That would be a direct short and would blow your fuse straight away : ( I think the confusion lies it the way I've drawn the circuit, so I've redrawn it for you here... vegoilguy.co.uk/_maingifs/circuit1.png "D" is not a point, it's a wire. It comes from the Relay and contains the positive flow. This then needs to go somewhere. In my case it goes to the Positive of the LEDs. The Negative of the LEDs is then put to ground and everything should work nicely. And yes, you're correct, this operates BOTH lots of DRL lights. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get back to me. Geoff
Thanks alot that cleared it up. Another question, what numbered prongs do the wires go into on each relay? I'm not putting LEDs into my car as they were factory installed, it's just for my general knowledge. I'm just looking at youtube auto channels to have a better understanding of how may car works.
Hi Tom. It's always good to have knowledge. Good for you : ) I've updated the diagram for you with numbers here - vegoilguy.co.uk/_maingifs/circuit1.png Have you seen my Relays video? You might find it helpful - ruclips.net/video/T1o29KTVbTE/видео.html There's also my Fuse It video that looks at finding switched and permanent live feeds - ruclips.net/video/8omZ545Cw1U/видео.html All the best.
Hi Florence, The cost is really down to how cheaply you can source the LEDs. They tend to be fairly cheap. I think I mentioned how much they cost me at the time on the video, but of course prices change and vary with location. Everything was eBay in my case but that doesn't mean you can't shop around for a bargain. Hope this helps. Geoff
didnt realise there was legal restrictions. nice tip!
Fantastic video
Great video. Thanks for the explanation
Ecellent guide, just what I was looking for. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
Best regards,
Dawid
Happy to help : )
What would be extra cool would be if the LH and RH could be dimmed independently and activated when the indicators are used.
It's not that hard to do : )
Hi, I was wondering if you know how to install coming home/ leaving home module?
Hi. I'm sorry to say that's not something I've ever fitted.
Best wishes
Geoff

Thanks for reply
Thanks. Just one question, where does D or positive out go.

you sound like thunderfoot, the rabbit!
You know you're the second person to say that to me... but I haven't a clue who Thunderfoot is : )
I must be getting old...
