      Don't worship him any longer. Deng disorted Chinese history. He has robbed lots of credit and shifted the blame to other shoulders especially Mao Zedong. He made the workers and farmers become oppressed again in a communist country. The leader that India lacks is not Deng, but Mao!

      @@dmitrishostakovich9559 Socialism greatly improved the living standards of China's mostly peasant population. Before Mao took power in 1949 the average life expectancy was 41 years old, literacy rate was 15 percent, and the immunization rate was close to 0 percent. By the time Mao died in 1976 average life expectancy was 68, literacy rate was 80 percent(all young people could read), and the immunization rate was close to 100 percent. These are great accomplishments considering China was mostly closed off and one of the poorest countries in the world. People were living on like 2 dollars a day.

    Deng Xiaoping was a great leader who participated in the Long March as one of the generals of the Red Army. During the Anti-Japanese War, he held an important position in the Communist Party. Commanded the People's Liberation Army and the Kuomintang in many decisive battles. After liberation, Deng Xiaoping saved China's economic and political collapse many times. Deng Xiaoping once said, "If socialism makes everyone poor, then we would rather not have such socialism". Perhaps from here, the Chinese are more pragmatic. No more dogmatism like the West or the Soviet Union。Many people may criticize him, but he is really a great figure in the history of modern human development.

    • @jimmyhaotran123
      @jimmyhaotran123 6 лет назад +42

      @@dxelson Honestly i really dont want to see China becoming a democratic at any sense. The US is the purest example, because of the democratic government, any projects proposed would take years to actually get implemented, while China, any projects would just go all-in. Same with building rail roads, and other constructions. I dont see any reasons that China should be more democratic, if the current mixed market is working perfectly, then we should let it be. And more importantly more democratic means the people gets more power in terms of politics, which means, not only the smarts get to vote, but the stupid people will also get their meaning proposed, so in general will drag down the overall outcome, if not slowing down all processes. Feel free to reply.

    • @dxelson
      @dxelson 6 лет назад +11

      @@jimmyhaotran123 I get what youre saying, thats why i said atleast at the local level. China is a country way to big of a country for democracy to work specially if half of the citizens are uneducated (not academically, intellectull wise, critical thinking). On one hand China get shit done, fast, no matter the consequences, on the other hand the common people dont get to have a say on anything. There are no public consultations for neighboorhood, city policies. whatever the party decides, it will happen. Any policy vote in the congress get 98% aproval, what even the point...just a formality. Look at the heating disaster during last years winter... Hitting coal targets at the cost of heating for northeaster chinese citizens? People should have SOME power. The country/ the party should work for the people, not the other way around. People fight and live for their country, not a political entity that has complete control over the country. The people should own China, the party doesnt own the People. Even the military pledges allegiance to the party first, the country second... There should be some more power balance within the political structure of China. Dont even get me started on censorship...Currently it has surpassed the accetable ammount of censorhip IMO...its actually quite rediculous. All in all, not gonna lie, China wouldnt be where it stands without "Socialism with chinese characteristics"

      @@dxelson Your response were all on points. But there is one big thing that I am worried about. I wonder if the government once start to lose its grip on their power, wouldnt it become like all other countries right away instantly, excluding all other factors and whether it is good or bad. I am from Norway and grew up in Norway a country that is super super socialistic country, basically communism but just with another word. We pay high taxes, get hell alot supports economically from the government. Education is totally free even the college is free of charge. At the same time, I have also studied in London for 2 years, and 2 years in San Francisco, as well a sememster in China. So basically I have been through all types of systems. But deep in my heart I really dont want China to lose its communist ideology this soon. I am afraid that it will fall into the trap like all other developed countries were its annual growth wont be higher than 5. There is a huge correlation between that if you will, and I dont want that to end this quick. I guess you have heard of how the High Speed Rails that China is currently super proud of. Those rails werent profitable how you see it, one another video also talked about it, but they still are constructing it and trying to operating it at lowest fee as possible, just to speed up the economic forces, trades and easing all sorts of transportations. I guess this wouldnt be possible in other countries, if the country wasnt based on One Party only. Not to mention the One Belt One Road, so called Silk Road 2.0, and all those investments and lendings is super massive, that wouldnt have been able to pass the votes in any other countries. My point is pretty same as yours, but in a sense of not falling into the democratic way of thinking, at least not at this very critical moment.

    Deng initiated China's Opening Up and Reform in 1978, gave up comintern, restored all tradition and culture (so that my family can worship Buddha at home), kept a low profile, focused on economy development and improvement of people's living, set up Chinese characteristic socialism - a kind of hybrid of capitalism and socialism which is good for China since heavily populated!
    Chinese are forward looking and still already solved all border issues using "Give and Take" strategy with neighbors excepts India. Allied with China benefit all countries people!
    China wants to modernize first, then democratize, India just reverses the path. Which one is better we will follow which one! May see it in the middle of this century!

    I watched a great Chinese drama series called Like A Flowing River last month. It's set around 1978 - 1990s so the economic reformation has a big impact to the plot. There's a scene when the characters are in shocked/deeply sad when the news comes that Deng Xiaoping died. He must be very respected there.

    The drawbacks of reform and opening up are actually very obvious. As a Chinese, I have to say that before the reform and opening up, China implemented a socialist policy, the productivity was not high, but the people's mental pressure was not high. Since the reform and opening up, the gap between the rich and the poor in my country has been increasing. The rapid development of the real estate industry has formed an economic bubble, and the price of a house is extremely expensive. This is undoubtedly a disaster for workers, because labor is extremely cheap in China, especially in the central and western regions, where the average worker's salary is only about ¥2,000. Workers can only save as much money as possible by constantly increasing their hours (such as working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week).

This is the situation in India. Dynasts have kept India down for decades.

    Deng Xiaoping is infinitely better than mao Zedong. He actually admit communist utopia is a long way to go and it can't be forced immediately like those of Soviet and Chinese leader before him. So, he absorbed many capitalist idea into his version of socialist with Chinese characteristics. It kinda mixed economy. He raised technology, health-care education, economy so that one day it's country will reach communist utopia. Private ownership also can work in parallel with government led business. Very flexible than those before him. This is also what they export to other country. Chinese export economic, infrastructure to other country so that maybe they also reach communist utopia one day. So politically that's what chinese do in their country to improved themselves to reach that utopia. Compare it to those of Soviet. Soviet model is that they want that utopia immediately. When they forced it to happened it always backfired on them. With trial and error. The Chinese understand that communist utopia can't be forced and it needs time to happened . It's a long process. Can't be rushed. They realized china is just in primary stage or first stage. It need atleast 100 years to move away from first stage or primary stage
