@neganballbat 100%....Arthur could be conniving, heartfelt, naive, a dingbat, inciteful, a flirt, inappropriate, smart aleck, immature( I probably missed a few) Where Archie Bunker, Jim Ignatowsky, AL Bundy, Fraser Crane, Hawkeye, Fonzie, Bonnie from 'Mom', even Homer Simpson were one or two dimensional..... * as you've probably guessed, I've watched a few sitcoms in my day 🤣😂😅
....it's also funny that he is Carrie's father and she is just as quick tempered and snide as him, great writing.....people haven't paid much attention to Kevin James
100%.....I never really cared for him in Seinfeld, but in King of Queens, his one-liners and "fatherly wisdom" were classic. One of the few sitcoms where I actually laughed out loud....oh sure, there was yer ol' "All in the family"...controversial at the time and what not...but of course,as you know, I was only a kid back then...ah yes ..Archie Bunker, quite a character, a bigot with a huge heart.... and who could forget about Mike Stivic, the affable, yet quirky young lad married to Archie's daughter Gloria ( they made quite a pair) heh heh heh...and don't even get me started on ol' dim witted Edith, she was quiiiiiiite the gal. OKAY!!!!.....WHERE WAS I...yes.....Arthur Spooner played by Jerry Stiller, you're right, he made the whole show. I'd better going now, my wife is making my favorite meal for supper....cereal with graham wafers. Man, I miss King of Queens 😔😔
That time when Arthur did a play at the senior center 🤭 Joséphine: Arthur, you know I play Fonsia at the Fresh Meadows Community Playhouse.😍 Arthur: Oh, Fresh Meadows. 🧐? I DON'T HAVE TIME TO BREAK YOU OF YOUR BAD HABITS!! GET OUT!!!💀💀
@Richmetal05 To poke fun at the worse comedy ever. I thought it was pretty obvious. They been showing Barney Miller's. It's more for adults and very funny
This is and WAS a very very well written show ...great cast.. original situations....l Love Holly....she's brilliant...but ole Arthur was perfection....(in life he was a kind lovely sweet man...he IS missed-his son is NOT as lovely).....Carrie looked like a doll...the first two years ...and the SAKSKYS..were hilarious....he's a brilliant actor on Broadway and film
Probably, the most realistic sitcom ever....no paleontologists, psychiatrists, spaced out hippies, no constant racial overtones, no ten year olds coming back with witty remarks....just a everyday truck driver with a wife that has a "normal" job. Just like in real life, a guy and his unfortunate, free loading father-in-law getting under each other's nerves.... just like in real life. AWESOME SHOW 😂😅
The episode where they tackle racism, with Arthur wanting to pay some reparations to Deacon even though Deacon doesn't want to, is one of the funniest and more realistic takes ever.
@monroe4574 I remember that episode... I'm even picturing his booming his voice.😂🤣 Or that one episode...Arthur comes upstairs and Kelly is sitting at the kitchen table, ... "imagine the time we could have , if it weren't for societies' taboos"...Kelly says "oh, those damn taboos" 🤣😂😅🤣🤣
Arthur and his date Judy. Whom smokes and cough uncontrollably 🤭🤭 Arthur: Douglas, very discreetly, I need you to set the drapes on fire. Doug: Things aren't going so well huh? Arthur: It's torture! She's diseased and incredibly boring! 😂😂😂
@5:00 The phone scene.. there was one more call before Arthur opted to leave it all and go the one in which he fired back saying you cannot expect someone who answered the phone for a living to quit the habit overnight or something like that Then he hung up and got up off the couch.
I love how Jerry went from one hit show as a character and right to another show as a different character so successfully. That’s pretty impressive. Not many can do that.
I remember episode where he first discovered Domino’s Pizza but he called it dominoes(dah-mee-noes) I still to this day call it dominoes. 😂😂😂 I bet dinner at the Stillers was epic!!!
For me, Arthur goes down as one of the greatest sitcom characters of all time.
He's so sweet and cute and I wish to hug him like a granddad. 😅❤

She was hot on all the shows. Even when Leah Remini got pregnant in real life and gained the pregnancy weight. She was thick and sexy.
