I ate there 2 nights ago with the Chefs Menu. All great food. Didn't care for the banchan or the garlic chicken - agree that it wasn't very garlicky. Needed some more spice/flavor. But everything else was super. The Slippery Shrimp and the Date Cake were the best parts of the meal. Thankful to the waiter who let me have the Chef's Menu, even tho I was a solo diner.
Hi Josh & Rachael, Sweet video on Best Friend. I watched a small video on how this place started with the chef/owner, so cool. Everything looks awesome Thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot. We felt pretty good about it honestly. $200 in Vegas is like a $75 meal at home haha. Will definitely be up for a return visit in the future
@@JoshRachael ya my pet peeve when people say a place is pricey in Vegas lol. Working on a video where my wife and I ate at 10 Vegas restaurants in 48hrs. Now that was pricey lol 😂 😉
Can honestly say I had never heard of this place before this video, but its on my radar now to give it a try on an upcoming trip! Thanks for the great review guys!
Never heard of this restaurant, but after your review, this is a must-do on my next trip! That was waaaaay to much food, but it all looked so good. Probably best to do a visit with just appetizers, and another visit just for the Chef’s special. Yummy!
Haha we tend to go over the top for our dinners and this one didn’t disappoint haha. The waiter recommended the fried chicken as his favorite item and since it wasn’t on the tasting menu we felt we had to try it as well 😂
I was just editing my Best Friend video and saw you guys uploaded this!!! Lol! I really enjoyed eating there, but I got the chef's menu and I was by myself so it was WAAAAY too much food haha. I agree that the slippery shrimp was AMAZING! Great job :)
So glad that you enjoyed it as well! The slippery shrimp was sneaky good. I actually didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. Can’t wait to see your video!
They wouldn't let me order Chefs Menu for Solo today. All I ended up having was the Kogi (go-gee) Tacos, Kimchi Fried Rice, Date Cake and to tell you the truth, I didn't love the meal.
Believe it or not, we have very little in leftovers during most of our meals in Las Vegas haha. You are certainly able to take them, but it is tough in Las Vegas since most rooms don't have a fridge or a microwave. Thank you for watching!
@@JoshRachael it’s about a mile and a half from the strip. order the prix fixe menu. $50 per person. 6 courses, amazing food and service! Go hungry and you’ll still have tons of leftovers! Belly dancers will come and and it’s so much fun! More people need to know about this place and you guys would be perfect to review it. Truly one of a kind experience!
You guys look like so much fun. I'm not into sweets but that fried rice looks amazing!! So sad I missed this video last year. it's 5 days after my bday!!
Great video and great restaurant pick, we love Best Friends! I hope you get a chance to explore the menu a bit more. I'd suggest trying the Uni Dynamite Rice and the street corn. I think someone else already said this but I'll say it again, Chef Roy Choi is an LA icon. He is an amazing chef and uses his gift to give back to his community in LA and in Vegas. He is in the restaurant frequently in Las Vegas and is very friendly.
We wanted to just do one Chef's Menu and order more off the menu, but had to have both of us do it, so that is why we couldn't do more things. The Fried chicken was added on top of two tasting menus and was amazing. I had seen some stories on Roy Choi in the past and was super excited to eat here because of him. We will definitely go back some time in the future - we loved it
Love Roy Choi’s food. The ambience of the place is not really pictured in this video. When you pass through the convenient store entry area with the bar, you enter into a transportive nighttime garden atmosphere.
That slippery shrimp looks like the Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish Grill. Have you ever had that? I’d love to know how it compares, as it is a favorite of mine. Runny nose is a good sign. Lol!
@@JoshRachael Better fry and more heat. That's right up our alley! Do you happen to know if they let you split the Chef's Special? The menu doesn't mention it, just says $60 per person.
@@TheMidlifeRide I dont know about that - we tried to just do one tasting menu and the other order off the menu and we had to both do the tasting menu then ordered the chicken off the regular menu cuz we wanted to. worth a try though
@@TheMidlifeRide I was able to beg for a Chef Menu the other night but I was a solo diner and the kitchen wasn't so busy at the time. But a couple, at the next table with a different waiter, couldn't do what I did.
That was a lot of food...no judging haha we earn every bit of weight we put on in Vegas. There may have been a slice of chicken left and some rice. We didn't make it through 95% of the Banchan, we had other things on our mind :)
Hey you two - GREAT VIDEO !!!! I appreciated the way you edited the text for banchan - the side dishes that go with a good Korean meal. I'm Korean so I'm speaking from experience. And the radish kim chee, when cut into 1/2 inch cubes is called (gawk-too-gee). I don't know how to spell it. There are so many different types of kim chee but gaktugee is a popular one- along with cucumber kim chee. But all the banchan is available for complimentary refills if you especially like a particular one, two or three. I also appreciated the way you two just dug into the dishes and boldly tried them. Anyway - keep up the good work and perhaps I'll see you in Vegas some day. Be well, Steve
Thanks so much Steve. We definitely haven’t had a lot of Korean food but love to eat and try new things. Hope to see you some day and hope you find more videos you like with us!
Thats what I said!!!!.........LMAO.......I can buy a Family Pack of chicken and pay $8.00. Of course its not cooked but still........thats alot for chicken thighs.
Have you tried Best Friend or even heard of it? What did you think, would you try it out?
I really love Korean Food. Though for the price of what u got. Would u have that or maybe go to Bacchanal?
IM LOVING YOUR SHIRT JOSH....

Now we will have to try this place. You should have made a video from Victory Burger. That's on our list too
Victory Burger was good. We were just in no video vacation mode that day. It happens. Next time we will record for sure.

I was going to get the fried chicken but 3 pieces for $39. That's not worth it.
