Imagine any other country children gets tried in the juvenile court system. For Palestinians, they go straight to military court.
Thank you Vox! You are a beacon of true journalism
Like JFK once said, when peaceful revolts failed, violent ones become inevitable. It's hard to grasp how under the continuous bombing, mass murder, and humiliation, Palestinians still show heart, for instance, to their release captives, and overall steadfastness and character to the world.
Mandela said the same thing too. Also there’s this quote by Stokely Carmichael: “in order for nonviolence to work, your opponent must have a conscience. The United States has none.”
The countries that support Israel are shams and only use Human Rights laws when it suits them…
I don’t thinks it’s fair of you to conflate Hamas and the Palestinians
So the Islamic invasions were because of peaceful revolts? Get out of here
It’s unique that Israelis have Arabs in their
Parliament. The two cultures really don’t
like living in the same neighborhoods.
The hostages released by Hamas
lived in damp and dark conditions in the
tunnels, food provided was hit and miss.

Great piece, and a very important effort that would hopefully help the world understand the oppression on Palestinians.
It’s sad, and people still wonder why the Palestinians won’t agree to capitulating the Israeli agenda for “peace,” if you can even call it that. How could anyone take an “offer” like that seriously when this is what’s happening to their people?
exactly. so many people say "I don't want to take a side I just want peace between them." peace isn't an option anymore
Peace without justice is just one side's power over the other
Peace is a white man's word, liberation is the answer
Because Palestinians are weak and if people are weak, they have to compromise to a deal which might not give them the best benefits, otherwise they suffer more like what Palestinians are having.
actually yeah- you would take a peace offer seriously if you were interested in one, you'd also offer one, silly.
Everyone who defends Israel as "the only democracy in the Middle East" should watch this video.
"HoW iS iSrAeL aN aPaRtHeId StAtE?"
@@reddragon3163 watch the video again
the palestinians mentioned in the video are not citizens of israel
It is a democracy. The occupation of the Palestinian territories are at the whim of the Israeli citizens who vote.
They will still find an excuse to support Israel crimes as they have a supremacy problem ongoing in their mind.
It's interesting to see how a simple choice of vocabulary can define the narrative. So basically when hamas takes captives they're 'hostages' and when israel takes captives they're 'prisoners'
Like Edward Said:
Palestine is the greatest injustice of our time 😢
I can't tell if you wrote "Said" as in him saying it or as in his last name
Yeah, this is what apartheid looks like.
Vox thank you so much for your meaningful journalism on this topic. You did a wonderful job of explaining the facts of the oppression that can be observed in the Isreali system. You did a wonderful job of removing "religion" as a talking point and focusing on the undeniable truth of what has happened. I hope this gets shared far and wide.
Its never been about religion. No one going to be happy when their home being stolen
It was Never about religion.
it was never about religion, it was just labled that way so this genocide can be excused, as it is extremely "complicated"
According to article 66 in the very 4th Geneva convention they mentioned, residents of the area at war shall be judged by a military court. Furthermore, the claims of abusing that power are baseless - I invite you to look at the prisoners Israel released in return for its innocent citizens a few weeks ago, it is public. All of these “Children an Womem” are convicted terrorists who have either stabbed or threw stones on IDF soldiers, sometimes murdering them or citizens.
It is very much about religion. the quran calls for the killing of everyone who isn't muslim and specifically to the destruction of israel. and yes the quran mentions israel as the land of the jews.@@KenBladehart
Thanks a lot Vox for telling the truth
I am so horrified I can't imagine living in such injustice
Thanks Vox for being honest about this topic. It was interesting though how you managed to avoid calling it an Apartheid system.
Please dig into any aspect of this conflict, and only showing the truth will be a big victory for those people who were neglected by all the international organizations.
Palestinians have a de-facto state and they are judged by their authority (the Palestinian Goverment) under Palestinian law. Only security-related crimes against Israelis are judged under the military court.
So it's not an Apartheid...
@@idonahshon1118it’s apartheid against Gaza though, there’s no PLO there. Israel controls all water and electricity supplies and limits it as it wishes. Clear apartheid.

Because israil can jail any palestinian they want without giving a reason and they can keep prisoners as long as israil wants to
I should also add that the west bank, according to international law, is illegally occupied and is not israeli territory, meaning that israel has NO RIGHT to arrest any palestinian civilian there as it's not within its jurisdiction an illegal occupying force, and still does it in huge numbers
Oh, i should also mention that under the same articles of international law, palestinians in the West Bank have a right of armed resistance, so killing an IDF soldier (or an illegal settler) shouldn't be considered a crime

@@8is But you have to be military to be court marshaled to a military court here in the US. Even if a family member commits a crime on a military base, they are not put before a judge in a military court. at most, they will be sent before a federal court. Everyone needs to condemn Israel for allowing their settlers go rampant in the West Bank the same way we need to condemn Hamas for their terror attack. This way we may be able to come to a 2 state solution with gradually increasing peace in the region overtime. We need to quit seeing one side as evil and bring both sides to concessions and peace.
You're the first person I've seen who's recognising that both sides are at fault.
If you would focus on the matter enough, you'll realize that there are no sides, but the media doesn't show the historical and political details which leads to make foreigners (Americans / anyone with recent knowledge of the matter ) believe that the case is 2 sided.
@@kawru_kun6846then how Many sides are there

This dual injustice system is also similar applied in the media. Means palestinians and muslims are always bad and israelis are always good or the victims
Even in this video, Palestine takes "hostages" while Israel takes "prisoners". Just because they're taken by a "military court" front.
it is not an injustice system. If the palestinias dont want to be part of israel so they dont have israeli nationality and therefor cant use the system for civilians. And also, thus system is not only for palestinias, soldiers are judeged there too because as a soldier you are not civilian.
@@yaarasaidon6806 Watch the video, almost all prisoners are taken from the occupied West bank, not from Israel proper. They have no right to arrest anyone there.
and occupied west bank is occupied because? the long complex history of the region boils down to weak government of Palestine making choices against their own interest and being influenced by other arab nations to continue a conflict even as 3rd party western nations tried to guarantee their borders thru UN. Best example of it can be see in the simple fact that Hamas is de facto government of Gaza while being independent from PLA, so this one made up country that has no borders somehow has 2 governments neither of which can speak on behalf of palestinian people since neither of them have legitimate governments.
Palestine as a country has only been recognized in 2012, until then it has very few countries recognizing it which were mostly other muslim countries, the reason for that is because Palestinian representatives have shot down any previous border agreements and were pushed into war with Israel by neighbouring arab nattions. @@AntwanMounir

Two different sets of laws that are enacted depending on race. Sounds really familiar to something that was abolished a long time ago.
Discrimination in judicial system, this is unacceptable. One court, one law, justice is blind and fair.
One of the many ways that makes Israel an apartheid state.
I thank you and applaud you for your journalistic integrity in detailing the context of the Palestine crisis, for simplifying the issues to those who argue its complexity as a means to divert the attention from the truth.
