Exactly, that is why this weapon can be the cheapest way to carry a T4 enderman, since you reach the damage of not activating dark magic, if you do this with a coop, you can reach eman 7 with a very low investment or generate money by carry people
@@SirBv8 it's honestly really funny to me just how useful anti-kb is and how much other meta pet items have to make up for that utility. Availability of control of movement in games truly is one of the best abilities in games.
Here's what I think about these weapons (in no particular order) Spirit sceptre: good damage, easy to use, versatile Glacial scythe: good damage, harder to use, but very good for clear if you practice with it Yeti sword: big rock smash = big damage (very fun to use) Midas staff: great damage, but a little bit difficult to use and is very expensive All these weapons are good in certain scenarios, but it's mostly about figuring out what works best for you.
Another thing to consider is what the difference in price means, for the lower price of the spirit sceptre, you could get a better pet, better armor or more talismans, which would decrease the difference in damage too and it would help outside of dungeons
Yeah absolutely. I covered this in the "Weapon Value Analysis" section and this usually holds true for all budget & cheap weapon options. Being able to invest coins into MP, armour and other upgrades instead of just 1 super "cool" weapon tends to be better, because if you end up upgrading out of that weapon, you still get to keep all of the other upgrades you purchased
@@Stvik1 you underestimate lcm, during boss (bonzo, scarf and professor) and min-boss (la, aa) aotd lcm will be way better than any rcm weapon you can get at that stage.
you shouldnt count that lmao just get abetter weapon and work your way to better talismans don't be like modern soldier comparing gs + wither skelly with aotd edrag and gloves 💀
Which makes it harder to use, and thus a "worse spirit sceptre". The more complicated a weapon's mechanics and the more effort it takes to use, the less efficient it's going to be
@@ModernSoldier If looking down at an enemies feet counts as that much more effort.. i wouldn't even know what to say to that. The glacial does amazing damage and aiming it is absurdly easy given the projectile speed and its straight trajectory. Feels like everybody just seems to either not know about the over double damage you'd do when shooting at an enemies feet compared to just using the beam or chooses to ignore it. Couple of other things worth mentioning is that the yeti sword is great for its price but its damage drops off the further an enemy is from the chunk you throw at them!
You will only ever use multiple mage weapons at once (that is the point of a magic class). Yeti + sceptre works great, because you use sceptre for clear or long range and if there's a mini boss. Another amazing combo is Yeti + spoon. They each have a 1s cooldown, meaning you can cycle between them to do massive damage, while still using a sceptre for clearing mobs. The glacial scythe is actually good 😮!!! You have to aim at their feet, so the projectile AND explosion hit, doubling you damage. It is still not worth the 50m, but it is not as bad as you made it seem. Midas staff is really good. Honestly it's probably a skill issue if you can't do master mode with it. I know its not for clearing, but THATS WHAT THE SPIRIT SCEPTRE IS FOR!!!! You testing these weapons in F7 boss almost seems like you are purposely putting them into a bad environment to make the sceptre look like the only option. One last thing. To me at least, it seems like you are so used to a wither blade that you either [1] don't know what each of the weapons you tested is used for, [2] are used to large aoe from a wither blade (bias towards the sceptre), or [3] are using the complexity of the F7 boss fight as an excuse to be biased toward the sceptre. I usually agree with your videos and have an enjoyable time watching them, but this video is quite literally just you showing how biased you are towards a weapon. You focused way to much on clearing potential in this video, and because mage is meant to be played with a clear weapon AND a damage weapon, these tests were extremely skewed. And you probably won't see this comment, but hopefully it gets enough likes to bring it to the top.
@@PogFrogy1210 Although this could be correct if you are a high mage level have midas staff spirit scepter and really good all round equipment with good knowledge of secrets I don't think you would get kicked roo often from most parties :)
Yeah I had the same idea about the yeti sword, insane damage, would be an excellent f6 weapon for terracotta and giant phase. Good for almost every floor besides F7. I’m not saying the scepter isn’t goated but the Yeti sword is definitely a better boss weapon with its stronger single target damage.
the clear issue you had with glacial scythe was a very clear skill issue, as well as the miniboss fight, if you aim at feet it does 2x damage due to the fact its hitting them twice, once with the explosion and once when it pierces through the target. in clear you completely ignored the explosion damage which would help a lot clearing
For the glacial scythe, I crafted it for some reason when I was basically a noob, that I had a lot of ice minions and 10M on ice collection, I didn't know it was this good.
Please do not go into f7 with just a l spirit sceptre thinking it will make you deal enough dmg. Sceptre should ONLY be used for clearing and damagung Necron/goldor. For the other part, I really recommend getting a Dps weapon, so you wont be a burden to your team. Also he didnt even mention the midas staffs boss potential in lower floors and that it can out dps a hyperion. Also, no one said you'd have to keep your Midas staff, selling it is also an Option
Yeah just the fact that you can sell and buy makes everything in the game a rental system the only price being supply/demand. If you have a good upgrade in mind that has a stable price buy it.
Going into F7 with just a Sceptre is not what I was suggesting, I was just comparing sole RCM damage against other sole RCM damage. Ideally I would suggest using a Sceptre + an LCM weapon of your choice (Shadow Fury or Felthorn Reaper work really well) as this is miles better than any other mage options such as the Midas Staff or Yeti Sword. The LCM weapon is the boss destroyer and the SS is the clearing weapon. As for reselling the Midas Staff, how does this change anything? There is no point in forking out 300M for an objectively underwhelming weapon when you can spend 70M of those coins on a SS + LCM Weapon and then the other 230M coins on talismans, armour, pets, etc. You're going to get better performance, it's going to be more reliable and you won't have any of the problems the Midas Staff has? Mentioning the Midas Staff's potential in lower floors is quite literally insane, because if you're spending 300M+ to complete F6 and below, you're already doing something horribly wrong. You should be trying to complete the higher dungeon floors (M3+) spending that sort of money, and if you can't achieve that well with a Spoon, then it basically renders it as a useless upgrade
@@Nutellagotti dont see how hyperion is underwhelming? Its worth its price considering it allows you to do Kuudra, acts as the best healing item in the game, the best damage item to use outside of dungeons, etc. Imo its worth its price considering how difficult it is to get, along with its high demand. All that Midas staff does is just high damage output in very little situations, which isnt worth even a fifth of what the hyperion is.
Something I think should be mentioned is that the yeti sword is probably well paired with the baby yeti pet (legendary): It boosts the damage and intelligence of the yeti sword, providing more lcm and rcm damage and the pet also serves as a great solution for tankiness (also use dwarf turtle shelmet)
anyone who thinks they can just skip hype is just wrong, IT IS VERY difficult to get into even an f7 party without one and the healing is necessary later in the game.
Yeah logically, it doesn't make sense to get any of the 'upgrades' because they're not going to improve your gameplay enough, nor are they actually going to secure you a good party either (hype parties want hypes, not spoons or yeti swords). This is more of a problem with the community not being welcoming rather than the Spirit Sceptre not being capable. A player using a Spirit Sceptre w/ an LCM weapon can be a VERY useful F7 player the same way that a pure hype mage RCM player is, but pfinder thinks otherwise
I agree, lots of spirit scepter and midas staff players forget that there’s a difference between being able to survive on f7 and actually being useful in f7. Most people who use those weapons are too low cata to truly do much damage and would be better to simply swap out with a hyp mage.
The I have with the yeti sword is that it has a hyperion like playstyle so you are close to the mobs but it doesn't offer the buffs that the hyperion and other necron blades give such as healing.
This basically changes nothing. It hardly affects the LCM damage, which is the only valuable thing about the reforge, and every other stat I mentioned in the video stays the same
@@ModernSoldiermaybe he mentioned it for the mana idk cause heroic gives less then 400 and that 400 after all the boost from stars and cata lvl can give like 3k more mana which will increase dmg
doesnt matter doesnt fix the problem of its clunky and didnt work for boss could insta kill all it hits as well thats what it did in the vid and still wasnt worth using
I feel like I should write an essay on this, but there's no point, since you covered most of the stuff that's important, BUT, as you said at 27:16 you couldn't clear m3 at all, which was honestly expected. I personally wouldn't recommend mm mage before an edrag or a gdrag, and honestly, a good lcm set. Most boss mobs in mm have a RIDICOULUS amount of magic resistance, therefore rendering rcm weapons useless. (Also, let's not forget that it's archer's job to kill minis in mm clear 👀) For F7, spirit sceptre would be enough since boss dps is USUALLY archer carried (Goldor 2 tap go brrrrrrr), but if you really want to, using a midas staff for clear IS an option but you shouldn't. There's no point in spending 300m on a mediocre weapon that can't hit mobs most of the time, the 300m can be used elsewhere, probably for a felthorn reaper or a GS and an lcm set that you can use for minis or boss. Also a funny thing people don't realize is that spirit sceptre is just better at clear than hype for non mm floors, so keep that in mind aswell, hopefully party finder figures that one out...
Might be because of the video age, but yeti sword and glacial scythe can be fragged with winter fragments Edit: yup, looks like they were added a month and a half after this video, rip
Ok so some important things Yeti sword deals more damage when ever u are closer to the enemy Glacial scythe It haves like 25% more dps then spirit scepter but You will need to aim for legs and It haves some benefits like it costs rly low amount of mana and the slowwness is rly helpful with mini bosses And don't use midas staff for clearing It's made for killing bosses/mini bosses And spirit scepter for a lot of players will be just too weak for clearing f7 but it's still rly good weapon And he was skill issuing a lot with close all of the weapons Only weapon he was not skill issuing was with spirit scepter
In regards to me 'skill issuing with a lot of the weapons', this reinforces a lot of my points. If there's a supposed learning curve (like you're implying by aiming at the feet), this makes the Glacial Scythe a much trickier weapon to use, so not only is it 3x more expensive, but it's also harder to use and basically the same in effectiveness? If this is the case, you're not really getting much of an upgrade here, but rather a more inconvenienced time in Dungeons. What I know for certain is the Spirit Sceptre being so easy to use makes it MUCH more appealing as you don't have to try as hard, and the fact that its damage is basically on par with that of the Glacial Scythe makes it so there's no reason to upgrade at all. You're going to kill minibosses at almost the same speeds (maybe within a 1-3 second difference), your clearing will be the same and your boss damage will be unaffected since a full party will still output high enough dps numbers. Midas Staff for only boss damage is CRAZY. If you're going to buy a weapons SPECIFICALLY for boss damage, you're better off with a Shadow Fury/Felthorn Reaper for LCM damage as they are 40M/80M and are significantly stronger boss killers. 300M for a Spoon is totally outrageous and not worth it at all. Yeti sword being stronger the closer you are to a mob is also really bad, because what if you can't get close? What if the situation is Goldor's Tunnel where you have to keep your distance? Are you just going to run into him and get obliterated by Frenzy? All in all you raise some valid points, but it doesn't really change the fact that the Spirit Sceptre remains consistent, reliable and easy to use. The other weapons just have too many downsides and raise too many complications when using them for F7
Well there's the only issue your high cats combs level/ gear to everone haves that high stats YES the spirit scepter is good but for players with less mana are gonna drain it rly fast and then u cant use it The spirit scepter is rly good weapon but the Glacial scythe is rly good upgrade Glacial scythe 151459 damage (151,4k) +freeze +less mana cost by 300% Spirit scepter 96743 damage (96,7k) And it's just rly high difference But saying that after spirit scepter buy a 2B weapon is just rly dumb As I said your cata level is too high Is like testing your dread sword with cats level 40 and one shooting everything and saying every other upgrade is ussless Let's say player with cats 25 will try f7 the spirit scepter will take like 2-3 shots to kill normal enemy's And boss will take like 15-25s With glacial scythe u can kill enemies with 1-2 shots and kill bosses 8-14s + making it was more easy bc they are slowed down And 1 thing players are not buying And saying u need to learn new strategy with Spirit scepter is rly stupid IT WILL JUST TAKE 1 RUB U just look at legs of the enemies THATS all And no one is only using midas staff or yeti sword alone they always atleast have a spirit scepter or glacial scythe for clearing
as a midas staff mage one thing, when you jump and cast the ability during goldor phase it can comfortably hit goldor and jumping is the main thing you have to focus using a midas staff and during clear u also gta jump alot
The Spirit Sceptre is quite literally the best RCM clearing weapon even used by end game players speedrunning dungeons. It is just the best weapon for its value even outclassing the wither blades.
This is an opinion, not a fact that a lot of high level players have. I personally prefer the necron blades for clearing because I like the teleporting aspect, but I can agree that the spirit sceptre is basically on par with this. Either way, it just goes to show that if even high level players are preferring the spirit sceptre, it's likely that it's going to be better than all of the weapons in this video for clearing specifically
Voodoo is insanely useful for early dungeons, especially for iron-man players. It is good for the lost adventurers or other mini bosses to slow them down and damage them with your main weapon. It generally falls off after floor 2 though
The yeti sword isnt bad at all, its just bad in the f7 boss fight, that's y archers exist. personally I just have a bonzo staff and use its ability mixed with lcm for ranged attacks and its not bad.
I think its not a problem that you test the items on your main becase we can still se itts better (yea it differs the number but its still very usefull)
That's what I figured. The only inaccuracies will be the fact that I was able to kill minibosses much easier than someone who is cata 24, and my solo boss dps is also way higher. EIther way, a cata 24 player isn't going to be entirely solo like I was, they will often always have a team with them supporting their damage, which is going to be significantly stronger than my cata 43 solo dps
@@ModernSoldier you forgot the mana a eraly mid game player will get out of mana 2 times or 3 per run with a spirit, while with a glacial in can kill bosses much fasters and make more damage to bosses without running out of mana
I agree that the yeti sword is worse nowdays but im still fan of it, cause when i was starting playing dugeons there was no such thing as 100mil midas staff it was almost unobtainable and i used it in combo with spirit sceptre so i can kill mini bosses quickly and clear quickly.
I would remove the undungeonized frozen scythe from the progression in entrance you can one shot the normal mobs with ur ultimate (mage one verry good for it) after some tries you will eventually get a dreadlord
If u hit legs with glacial scythe it does 2x dmg... 1.6m! (nearly 1.5x scepter) and the hard to hit factor dies since the explosion is big enough (I think 1 block less than scepter).
A couple things with the glacial scythe, if you can afford it, buy it instead of a spirit scepter, for one, the spirit scepter has a much higher mana requirement, unlike the glacial scythe, plus the glacial scythe can hit twice easily, finnaly take into account that the midas and yeti sword have a cooldown, and the glacial scythe shoots faster and slows. All in all glacial scythe>spirit scepter my opinion
Couldn't disagree less. If you're having mana problems with a Spirit Sceptre then you're not optimising your mana efficiently enough (I have a whole separate video on this that covers it in extreme detail). The Glacial Scythe has a much trickier learning curve since it REQUIRES you to aim at the floor in order to double hit the mobs, which the Spirit Sceptre does not have. Both of them quite literally perform the same in the clear, but the SS is easier to use, and the same applies to minibosses and boss damage. In a full 5 man team you're not going to notice any major dps changes between the two weapons so you're quite literally forking out 50m coins for a slightly worse time in the clear and same miniboss/boss performance.
@@ModernSoldier Back in the day I used to main spirit sceptre and he is 100% right. On a lower cata profile, you will run out of mana constantly with a spirit sceptre and it is necessary to use a glacial scythe or even normal frozen scythe with if when u get low on mana
@@ModernSoldier you did testout the weapons on a cata 43 profile with 3/4s storm and wither goggles, while players just getting the scythe or scepter would be using wise dragon or something. A good example is a friend of mine who uses glacial scythe. There cats 24 and use 3/4s wise dragon and wither goggles, and they didn't use spirit scepter because of the mana cost. I sometimes use spirit scepter, but I have storm and other stuff, and am cata 32. So some of ur stuff is right while others are wrong tbh.
Last thing, it would honestly be better just to get both if you have the money, because both have varying uses, because spirit scepter is overall better for clear but glacial scythe is better for minibusses and other stuff.
You were very unfair to glacial scythe here, the whole power of the item comes from the double damage, the projectile does damage once, then explodes on the ground/wall to do damage twice, so you have to aim at the mini bosses feet. Through all my personal testing, it has higher dps than spirit scepter with less strain on your mana, but probably is slightly worse at clearing. I personally used the scepter for clearing and scythe for bosses for a long time. The slow on scythe is incredibly useful for early players as well, lets you kite out shadow assassins
SS bat travels slowly than glacial scythe's ice projectile does, and ur aim is slightly locked till the bat reaches to an enemy or a block (unlike glacial scythe, u can just spam it everywhere without being aim-locked). Ofc u can tp with aote/aotv and look down to make bats explode instantly (which is kinda budget hyperion), but I think its actually the same 'skill requirement' like glacial scythe's leg/feet aiming thing. SS is way more cost-effective tho, its just mage class' problem that u actually have to jump from like ~100M weapon to a 2B weapon which makes huge debate between these pre hyperion mage weapons 😅
Yeti sword does more damage based on how accurately you hit your enemy. Also, what works for me as I’m saving for a Hyperion (about 300m away if you include the price of my current weapons) is clearing with a spirit sceptre and killing bosses/mini bosses with my Midas staff.
Tbh a lot of the non-boss section of dungeons is an opinion. Technically you can clear some rooms slightly faster using a SS than a hype if you aote right, but I would never do that because hype is so much more fun. Of course, dungeon bosses are pretty much just dps tests so there will be a more objective best option.
And that's why I try to provide as much footage as I can, so you can see what the results are, listen to what I have to say, and then form your own opinions and decide whether you agree, partially agree, or disagree :)
Im using a spirit sceptre to clear and for minibosses/bosses I switch to my spoon, fully agree with you on the point that sceptre is just the best at clearing, but for a lower cata level its harder to consistenly kill mobs with high hp
Glacial Scythe has its charm as a weapon, and is a decent if you use its ability more, also having a very low mana cost compared to sprit sceptre makes it more usuful outside of dungeons as well, also boss damage you just have to aim down. But yeah spirit sceptre is probably better for dungeons but overall glacial scythe if you have the money makes sense before f7
Yeah outside of dungeons capability I specifically didn't cover because it would add way too many variables to this video. The general rule of thumb with outside dungeons potential is that "melee is cheaper, so why would you go for mage". Unless you're using a Necron's Blade, mage is super unrealiable (and very costly) outside of dungeons so it's not something I can really recommend, even if it's not a terrible option
glacial scythe is only used for bestiary and spawning slayers@@ModernSoldier and it outclasses even hyp for those things for most people because of such an insanely low mana cost
@@elaboratelymcc9038 I've not once seen anyone prefer a Glacial Scythe over a Fire Veil wand for slayers/bestiary. Usually this is paired with a Necron's Blade, however with the exception of the Headless Horseman boss, you'd use an AOTD for that
@@ModernSoldier i personally dont like the fire veil because i forget to keep it on, and I run out of mana eventually if i only use hyp without glacial to kill out of dungeons
That doesn't make them bad either and from my use of all but yeti sword It comes down to what the player likes and how well they use it and with the right equipment both SS and Glacial Scythe better@@mqvio_173
A very nice item to use with SS and GS is the Implosion Belt. With the 25% damage boost on the GS, it might be able to boost its damage over that of the yeti sword
A 25% damage boost isn't enough to take it from 800k to 7 mil, even with the double hit tech, it only applies to half of the theoretical 1.6m damage And then the spirit sceptre's entire kit is already based on explosions, is already more reliable, plus if ur going to have an lcm weapon on the side, you won't need the impractically theoretically higher damage, so why bother with the glacial scythe at all if you're going to want the weapon that clears better?
i don't like that people underestimate glacial scythe so much, its a much better weapon than the spirit scepter because it has infinite pierce AND an explosion AND slows mobs, making it very good for clearing mobs and minis. having used all of these items quite a bit, i can comfortably say that glacial is much better than spirit scepter and is actually comparable to yeti in a lot of cases. overall decent guide, but very misleading when it comes to glacial
you'll need practise for yeti sword and you have to know how does it works. your chunk will land on the block you aim therefore you cannot see yeti as bugde hype as its not insant explosion its smashing the ground so when golder and necron you'll need to aim at where the block block they are at to get max damage which takes a bit to learn.
14:00 its not coz the shot is slimmer is coz bats follow your cursor, and glacial does an explosion on impact with ground so u didnt get full potential
personally im biased towards the yeti sword cause i used to own one and i loved how it worked, I know that it isnt really that good but it did nice lcm and rcm dmg and f7 parties let me in with it but i did have spirit sceptre for clear cause i mean you cant compare it spirit is the chad for clear After a while of using the yeti i bought a 100m midas and it was also pretty nice for me but it was a long time ago I do agree that spirit sceptre is the most consistant for everything you tested cause its really really good for its price
I share your opinion, I have a yeti sword and scepter for clearing. I dont really lcm, but then i dont really do f7 either. im going to get more into it though. definitely love the yeti sword, absolute favorite weapon.
@@itsronplayz9932 yeah i just dont see myself grinding 1.5-2b coins for hype. Ill probably switch to giant's sword-spirit sceptre r and lcm combo or just giant's sword bers
For anyone wondering why Yeti Sword was so bad, its ability can be aimed, but its very hard to do. If he aimed the Yeti Sword at Goldor and Necron so that the shots would hit it would have a similar or better performance than Spirit Sceptre. Also, the reason Yeti Sword did inconsistent damage was because the damage scales based on how close a mob is to you.
I don't think that people are unhappy with your video due to your methods or choice of armor/weapons to compare but that [1] you chose a floor that had near to no on ground bosses (which severely disadvantages certain mage weapons) [2] did not give an accurate representation of the weapons and ALL the abilities and damaging options [3] you didn't say anything about preference and only that the spirit sceptre was good because it was easy to use and did enough dmg as a catacombs 43 player. In my opinion i do think spirit sceptre is best for the price but I'm upset that you didn't give the due credit to the other weapons and only picked a scenario that benefitted the spirit sceptre and didn't even try to use the weapons as intended or the best way possible
I'm going to make another one of these but for berserker and berserker weapons, and in it I will likely have a small segment on LCM damages since they're somewhat relevant to that. Not sure when I'll get around to it, but we'll see
@@ModernSoldier Also, can't you use the midas staff with the spirit scepter and yeti sword and get insane clearing? Another note: They killed AOTD mage :(
Why is the Yeti Sword and the Midas Staff worth 65m and 300m respectively if the suck. One work: Sadan. They excels in Sadan fight because their mage beam is good enough and it clears really well in the Sadan Terracotta Warriors and Giants. Even works with Sadan himself if you don't deal kb damage
yeti sword is very wierd. as a yeti sword main, it can be very confusing. however, it is fine if knowing the mechanics. it only does damage when it hits the floor, and also can’t hit midair enemies, so sadly i rely on archer when necron is in the air.
Fuck it, time to buy them all the glacial scythe has double the dps if you target the mob's legs, since the projectile and the explosion from hitting the ground both deal damage to the same mob. also the yeti sword deals more damage if it hits in the middle of the chunk. also, midas spoon for f6 terracottas is just.. heaven. im working towards a golden drag rn, so i can get even more dps. rn im using 3/4 YELLOW storm with 1/2 perfect saphires, cata 28, chimera 1 midas with minos relic sheep. rn i can do 23-40m damage in clearing, wich will be like 80-90m with a 1b bank gdrag. i know the chimera was a waste but i was curious and i like wasting money on a soulbound spoon. so yes, embrace the spoon, embrace getting hated by archers, come to the yellow side. pairing it with a fire veil + a fire fury , you can melt bosses easily. also soul eater 5 spirit sceptre, its fun, trust me.
I'm not touching series' ever again because they're not my strong suit. I have a much better time with these guides/comparisons/tutorials and people like them a lot more
funnily enough, the best way to play dungeons is to NOT play dungeons for while until at least 3/4 or full shadow assassin with a juju will take you to f7 easily then you can get necron and then grind out for mage
I feel like midas staff is the way to go because by the time ur regularly running f7 a hyp would’ve been worth it to get just for outisde of dungeons too
i think shadow fury would be a better lcm weapon than bone reaver or even felthorn, considering felthorns lower damage and triple price. the main thing of felthorn is that +1.5 blocks of damage
This might be true, I haven't had time to verify it yet. I namedropped the Bone Reaver and Felthorn Reaper because I've actually used them before (I didn't own a Shadow Fury at the time). Regardless, an LCM weapon + the Spirit Sceptre will always be stronger than the Glacial Scythe, Yeti Sword or Midas Staff
@@theorphanobliterator Yeah I did mention dual wielding the Yeti in this video as it can be useful for "nuking some mobs in the clear", but imo it's a little too specific and isn't worth forking out an extra 70M coins for one. Then again, as you say, to each their own. If that's a preference someone prefers, they're welcome to buy one if they wish
@@ModernSoldier haha I remember back when I was a yeti sword + spirit sceptre + giants sword lcm, hella cringe but thankfully I grew past it and one day I'll be able to return to mage class and be viable

This is typical, a lot of high level players argue that the spirit sceptre is a better clearing weapon than the Hyperion. Personally, I prefer the Necron's Blade, but it's just personal preference
yeti sword is best for early game since most early game people dont have 10k mana in dungeons and CAN'T spam a scepter 500 times without draining all of their mana
#makeyetiandgoldspoonhavebiggerAOE,oratleastbeabletodamagefloatingwithers. Then you wouldn’t have to go (at least damaging the bosswise) from scepter to hype. Yeti and spoon might be goog for clearing though, and didn’t they patch the carpet bug? Same with the walls right? Idea for spoon; instead of a rectangular wave, make a circular amount of gold around you (so like a hype) go up in the air, and the fall back down. Anything it hits both ways takes damage. With yeti sword just make it able to hit enemies when falling down, not just on impact. Spoon basically becomes better yeti that centers around you instead of where your cursor is. Also, give you some absorption hearts bcs gold wave shield :)
It's sad that Midas Staff is simultaneously a good weapon, but has so much jank that it is also a bad weapon, you can hit Necron when he goes into the middle, but since the hitbox is way off to the left (the right gold blocks can pass straight through enemies) you have to aim to the right of him just to hit him reliably, and even then, you have to turn on Midas Staff messages on Skytils to make 100% sure the angle you're aiming at can hit him.
i used spirit spectre, then glacial scythe, then glacial schythe and yeti sword, then midas staff and spirit spechtre (glacial schythe does double damage and area damage if you aim at the toes)
one thing about the yeti sword and the midas staff because your so high cata you prbobobly dident notice but they cause a lot of brobloms with them taking to much mana
For the yeti's sword, u get more dmg when the mob is closer to the center of the chunk

I'm pretty sure the reason as to why the Yeti Sword is inconsistent in damage is because it deals more damage when closer to the target.
@@ModernSoldier Another top tier lcm weapon is the aspect of the dragons, a good aotd will do alotta damage in the early game and its extremely cheap.
@@thescoffeu shouldn’t lcm at that game point
@@Stvik1 you underestimate lcm, during boss (bonzo, scarf and professor) and min-boss (la, aa) aotd lcm will be way better than any rcm weapon you can get at that stage.
you shouldnt count that lmao just get abetter weapon and work your way to better talismans don't be like modern soldier comparing gs + wither skelly with aotd edrag and gloves 💀
For glacial scythe you need to aim at the feet. it does pierce dmg and explosion dmg on hitting a block
Which makes it harder to use, and thus a "worse spirit sceptre". The more complicated a weapon's mechanics and the more effort it takes to use, the less efficient it's going to be
@@ModernSoldieryou could just aim it like a spirit sceptre
@@ModernSoldier so you look down for yeti sword seems unfair
@@ModernSoldier If looking down at an enemies feet counts as that much more effort.. i wouldn't even know what to say to that.
The glacial does amazing damage and aiming it is absurdly easy given the projectile speed and its straight trajectory.
Feels like everybody just seems to either not know about the over double damage you'd do when shooting at an enemies feet compared to just using the beam or chooses to ignore it.
Couple of other things worth mentioning is that the yeti sword is great for its price but its damage drops off the further an enemy is from the chunk you throw at them!
@@ModernSoldierskill issue
Your still gonna get kicked from most f7 parties
@@PogFrogy1210 Although this could be correct if you are a high mage level have midas staff spirit scepter and really good all round equipment with good knowledge of secrets I don't think you would get kicked roo often from most parties :)
Yeah I had the same idea about the yeti sword, insane damage, would be an excellent f6 weapon for terracotta and giant phase. Good for almost every floor besides F7. I’m not saying the scepter isn’t goated but the Yeti sword is definitely a better boss weapon with its stronger single target damage.
also the yeti sword depends on how close and far you are from your target the closer you are the more damage it will deal
the clear issue you had with glacial scythe was a very clear skill issue, as well as the miniboss fight, if you aim at feet it does 2x damage due to the fact its hitting them twice, once with the explosion and once when it pierces through the target. in clear you completely ignored the explosion damage which would help a lot clearing
You have to aim at the feet which isnt as realable as the spirit septre
For the glacial scythe, I crafted it for some reason when I was basically a noob, that I had a lot of ice minions and 10M on ice collection, I didn't know it was this good.
Please do not go into f7 with just a l
spirit sceptre thinking it will make you deal enough dmg.
Just use yeti for clear, and lcm bcs ur not going to do any damage to the boss anyways.
@@dcincco well for its price, hyperion is also kinda underwhelming, so if you apply that logic you should just become a term mage
I might be wrong but doesnt int. scaling still exist, so the weapon with better scaling would benefit more from the later game profile with more int
100%, so even though I was heavily favouring the Midas Staff because I had no choice, it still isn't really that worth getting at such a crazy cost
@@ModernSoldierbut doesn’t stuff like the voodoo doll have insanely high int scaling?
Something I think should be mentioned is that the yeti sword is probably well paired with the baby yeti pet (legendary): It boosts the damage and intelligence of the yeti sword, providing more lcm and rcm damage and the pet also serves as a great solution for tankiness (also use dwarf turtle shelmet)
u dont get that much strength as a mage.. baby yeti is useful with arch/bers becuz they get tons of strength with blessings
anyone who thinks they can just skip hype is just wrong, IT IS VERY difficult to get into even an f7 party without one and the healing is necessary later in the game.
Dont forget that the midas staff can now get the gilded reforge. At mythic rarity it gives +90 dmg, +90 str and +400 int
This basically changes nothing. It hardly affects the LCM damage, which is the only valuable thing about the reforge, and every other stat I mentioned in the video stays the same
@@ModernSoldiermaybe he mentioned it for the mana idk cause heroic gives less then 400 and that 400 after all the boost from stars and cata lvl can give like 3k more mana which will increase dmg
doesnt matter doesnt fix the problem of its clunky and didnt work for boss could insta kill all it hits as well thats what it did in the vid and still wasnt worth using
I feel like I should write an essay on this, but there's no point, since you covered most of the stuff that's important,
BUT, as you said at 27:16 you couldn't clear m3 at all, which was honestly expected. I personally wouldn't recommend mm mage before an edrag or a gdrag, and honestly, a good lcm set. Most boss mobs in mm have a RIDICOULUS amount of magic resistance, therefore rendering rcm weapons useless. (Also, let's not forget that it's archer's job to kill minis in mm clear 👀)
For F7, spirit sceptre would be enough since boss dps is USUALLY archer carried (Goldor 2 tap go brrrrrrr), but if you really want to, using a midas staff for clear IS an option but you shouldn't.
11:00 I think the yeti sword ability damage is based on how close to the center of the chunk the mob is
For anyone thinking he clickbaited us, he meant upgrading to another mage weapon, not like enchanting or reforging it.

Might be because of the video age, but yeti sword and glacial scythe can be fragged with winter fragments
Edit: yup, looks like they were added a month and a half after this video, rip
Ok so some important things
Yeti sword deals more damage when ever u are closer to the enemy
Glacial scythe
It haves like 25% more dps then spirit scepter but You will need to aim for legs and It haves some benefits like it costs rly low amount of mana and the slowwness is rly helpful with mini bosses
And don't use midas staff for clearing
It's made for killing bosses/mini bosses
And spirit scepter for a lot of players will be just too weak for clearing f7 but it's still rly good weapon
And he was skill issuing a lot with close all of the weapons
Only weapon he was not skill issuing was with spirit scepter
Well there's the only issue your high cats combs level/ gear to everone haves that high stats YES the spirit scepter is good but for players with less mana are gonna drain it rly fast and then u cant use it
The spirit scepter is rly good weapon but the Glacial scythe is rly good upgrade
Glacial scythe 151459 damage (151,4k) +freeze +less mana cost by 300%
Spirit scepter 96743 damage (96,7k)
And it's just rly high difference
But saying that after spirit scepter buy a 2B weapon is just rly dumb
As I said your cata level is too high
Is like testing your dread sword with cats level 40 and one shooting everything and saying every other upgrade is ussless
Let's say player with cats 25 will try f7 the spirit scepter will take like 2-3 shots to kill normal enemy's
And boss will take like 15-25s
With glacial scythe u can kill enemies with 1-2 shots and kill bosses 8-14s + making it was more easy bc they are slowed down
And 1 thing players are not buying
And saying u need to learn new strategy with Spirit scepter is rly stupid IT WILL JUST TAKE 1 RUB U just look at legs of the enemies THATS all
And no one is only using midas staff or yeti sword alone they always atleast have a spirit scepter or glacial scythe for clearing
I think the yeti sword deals less damage the farther away you are from enemies, though i havent tested it too much.
as a midas staff mage one thing, when you jump and cast the ability during goldor phase it can comfortably hit goldor and jumping is the main thing you have to focus using a midas staff and during clear u also gta jump alot
It generally falls off after floor 2 though
if u hit the feet on the sythe it hit twice 1 for first hit and 1 for explotion
Been a d1 ss glazer since day 1 finally getting some attention
The yeti sword isnt bad at all, its just bad in the f7 boss fight, that's y archers exist. personally I just have a bonzo staff and use its ability mixed with lcm for ranged attacks and its not bad.
Dude the voodoo doll is one of the best boss damage weapons… it might not be a primary weapon, but it is an amazing side weapon.
thanks to help this community and make those interessting vids gab !
I think your ring of love scuffed the yeti swword test
love ur vids, always amazingly edited and informative
Much love
I think its not a problem that you test the items on your main becase we can still se itts better (yea it differs the number but its still very usefull)
That's what I figured. The only inaccuracies will be the fact that I was able to kill minibosses much easier than someone who is cata 24, and my solo boss dps is also way higher. EIther way, a cata 24 player isn't going to be entirely solo like I was, they will often always have a team with them supporting their damage, which is going to be significantly stronger than my cata 43 solo dps
@@ModernSoldier you forgot the mana
a eraly mid game player will get out of mana 2 times or 3 per run with a spirit, while with a glacial in can kill bosses much fasters and make more damage to bosses without running out of mana
I agree that the yeti sword is worse nowdays but im still fan of it, cause when i was starting playing dugeons there was no such thing as 100mil midas staff it was almost unobtainable and i used it in combo with spirit sceptre so i can kill mini bosses quickly and clear quickly.
Oh wow that storm armor is really cool!! I wonder how you got it!?
not only does it do double damage at feet (which people have already said) but it also can pierce really well and takes no mana like at all.
Scepter is a 6 block radius, glacial scythe is 3, glacial scythe is shit, your clearing a 3x3 area opposed to a 6x6 one
8:35 **caželly has 300m coins in purse** objectiv _craft a lapis pickaxe_
Yeti sword does more damage based on where the enemy is inside of the chunk middle does most 2nd layer does less and 3rd layer does even less
Another thing is dungeons isn't the only aspect of Skyblock, there are also Slayers, Crimson Isle, fishing and general mob grinding.
He explained in the video that he won’t be covering that because most people use melee setups for outside of dungeons
Good video tho
You were very unfair to glacial scythe here, the whole power of the item comes from the double damage, the projectile does damage once, then explodes on the ground/wall to do damage twice, so you have to aim at the mini bosses feet. Through all my personal testing, it has higher dps than spirit scepter with less strain on your mana, but probably is slightly worse at clearing. I personally used the scepter for clearing and scythe for bosses for a long time. The slow on scythe is incredibly useful for early players as well, lets you kite out shadow assassins
thats the best editing in the skyblock youtube damn
Also, what works for me as I’m saving for a Hyperion (about 300m away if you include the price of my current weapons) is clearing with a spirit sceptre and killing bosses/mini bosses with my Midas staff.
yeti swords damage is based on how close you are to the enemy so thats why its damage was fluctuating so much
Tbh a lot of the non-boss section of dungeons is an opinion.
The spoon might be to good in dungeons but is pretty good out side of it. The damage is really good and is pretty easy to clear mobs with it.
This week it took me a hour of good luck+farming the 2.5mill zealot eyes to get a sceptre
Frozen and Glacial Scythe also go through enemies if you line it up right and Glacial Scythe explodes if you hit the ground and wall
That doesnt make them good
That doesn't make them bad either and from my use of all but yeti sword It comes down to what the player likes and how well they use it and with the right equipment both SS and Glacial Scythe better@@mqvio_173
A very nice item to use with SS and GS is the Implosion Belt. With the 25% damage boost on the GS, it might be able to boost its damage over that of the yeti sword
A 25% damage boost isn't enough to take it from 800k to 7 mil, even with the double hit tech, it only applies to half of the theoretical 1.6m damage
And then the spirit sceptre's entire kit is already based on explosions, is already more reliable, plus if ur going to have an lcm weapon on the side, you won't need the impractically theoretically higher damage, so why bother with the glacial scythe at all if you're going to want the weapon that clears better?
edition perfect as always :)
i don't like that people underestimate glacial scythe so much, its a much better weapon than the spirit scepter because it has infinite pierce AND an explosion AND slows mobs, making it very good for clearing mobs and minis. having used all of these items quite a bit, i can comfortably say that glacial is much better than spirit scepter and is actually comparable to yeti in a lot of cases. overall decent guide, but very misleading when it comes to glacial
if a normal f7 player tried to play with a spirit sceptre he will insta die bc we cant clear. you can clear with a spirit scepter bc you are cata 43
you'll need practise for yeti sword and you have to know how does it works. your chunk will land on the block you aim therefore you cannot see yeti as bugde hype as its not insant explosion its smashing the ground so when golder and necron you'll need to aim at where the block block they are at to get max damage which takes a bit to learn.
14:00 its not coz the shot is slimmer is coz bats follow your cursor, and glacial does an explosion on impact with ground so u didnt get full potential
personally im biased towards the yeti sword cause i used to own one and i loved how it worked, I know that it isnt really that good but it did nice lcm and rcm dmg and f7 parties let me in with it but i did have spirit sceptre for clear cause i mean you cant compare it spirit is the chad for clear
After a while of using the yeti i bought a 100m midas and it was also pretty nice for me but it was a long time ago
I do agree that spirit sceptre is the most consistant for everything you tested cause its really really good for its price
I share your opinion, I have a yeti sword and scepter for clearing. I dont really lcm, but then i dont really do f7 either. im going to get more into it though. definitely love the yeti sword, absolute favorite weapon.

You forgot that you have to AIM at feet with the scythe so IT does Double the damage
Never underestimate the voodoo doll in early to mid game dungeon, they mainly slow the target and deals a decent amount of damage.
Also clear SA or Frozen Adventurer
I don't think that people are unhappy with your video due to your methods or choice of armor/weapons to compare but that [1] you chose a floor that had near to no on ground bosses (which severely disadvantages certain mage weapons) [2] did not give an accurate representation of the weapons and ALL the abilities and damaging options [3] you didn't say anything about preference and only that the spirit sceptre was good because it was easy to use and did enough dmg as a catacombs 43 player. In my opinion i do think spirit sceptre is best for the price but I'm upset that you didn't give the due credit to the other weapons and only picked a scenario that benefitted the spirit sceptre and didn't even try to use the weapons as intended or the best way possible
awesome video, can you do this for other classes too?
Berserker is next, seeing as it got tons of buffs. I'll see when I get around to it
i cant say much but for the lower master mode floors i feel that midas staff is literally the best option before hype
your content is the best skyblock content out there currently i really enjoy watching !!!
We need a video on the lcm potential of the Felthorn reaper then
I'm going to make another one of these but for berserker and berserker weapons, and in it I will likely have a small segment on LCM damages since they're somewhat relevant to that.
The spirit sceptre is 25 - 35 Mil currently btw
you forgot the ink wand as it's the best boss killer in mid game
yeti sword is very wierd. as a yeti sword main, it can be very confusing. however, it is fine if knowing the mechanics. it only does damage when it hits the floor, and also can’t hit midair enemies, so sadly i rely on archer when necron is in the air.
Yeti sword is stronger at the center of the projectile
no wayy omg guys Gabriel remembers his RUclips password!!!!
Fuck it, time to buy them all
the glacial scythe has double the dps if you target the mob's legs, since the projectile and the explosion from hitting the ground both deal damage to the same mob.
also the yeti sword deals more damage if it hits in the middle of the chunk.
also, midas spoon for f6 terracottas is just.. heaven. im working towards a golden drag rn, so i can get even more dps.
rn im using 3/4 YELLOW storm with 1/2 perfect saphires, cata 28, chimera 1 midas with minos relic sheep.
rn i can do 23-40m damage in clearing, wich will be like 80-90m with a 1b bank gdrag.
i know the chimera was a waste but i was curious and i like wasting money on a soulbound spoon.
so yes, embrace the spoon, embrace getting hated by archers, come to the yellow side.
pairing it with a fire veil + a fire fury , you can melt bosses easily.
also soul eater 5 spirit sceptre, its fun, trust me.
I know you probably won’t see this but you should make another crazy series like you did with chaos profile it was so good
I'm not touching series' ever again because they're not my strong suit.
@@ModernSoldier I think you're right about that, I've seen people use ss and yeti together, but to each their own on that one.
@@ModernSoldier and wow as good as yeti sword is, it's definitely not worth 70 mil, you can easily replicate that damage with any melee setup for like half the price!
yeah midas staff is not good for clear and f7 but you forgot one thing, I use lcm not Rcm for the clear and i mostly play f6 but other than that great vid :D
I out clear some of my friends ( they have hypes ) with the spirit septre so its insane
This is typical, a lot of high level players argue that the spirit sceptre is a better clearing weapon than the Hyperion. Personally, I prefer the Necron's Blade, but it's just personal preference
whenever i use spirit sceptre i just teleport back and forth while shooting the mini boss
yeti sword is best for early game since most early game people dont have 10k mana in dungeons and CAN'T spam a scepter 500 times without draining all of their mana
Just buy Weapons in this order:
1. Bonzo Staff
2. Spirit Sceptre
3. Glacial Scythe
4. Midas Staff
5. Hyperion
u can actually frag yeti sword with winter fragments
for the spirit septure and glacial scythe they both pair well with guntlet of contagion
Also, give you some absorption hearts bcs gold wave shield :)
the yeti sword damage depends on if you aim good or not
I know it ended but please continue the chaos profile as that will be pretty fun ( maybe u could do rift or crimson isle)
This guy has the hottest of hot takes. And for a reason
i used spirit spectre, then glacial scythe, then glacial schythe and yeti sword, then midas staff and spirit spechtre
(glacial schythe does double damage and area damage if you aim at the toes)
to be fair not even the hyp can clear the most master mode mini bosses
one thing about the yeti sword and the midas staff because your so high cata you prbobobly dident notice but they cause a lot of brobloms with them taking to much mana
If you manage your mana well it won’t be a problem I’m a cats 24 without storm armor and Midas has plenty of mana
the glacial scythe had literally half its possible dps :( it was done dirty
Also glacial scythe does WAY more dmg with gauntlet of contagion and implosion belt
I bought a Midas staff
perfect timing to see this just started with spectre
when saying how much a yeti sword is you said 65 billion
