Here's what I think about these weapons (in no particular order)
Spirit sceptre: good damage, easy to use, versatile
Glacial scythe: good damage, harder to use, but very good for clear if you practice with it
Yeti sword: big rock smash = big damage (very fun to use)
Midas staff: great damage, but a little bit difficult to use and is very expensive
All these weapons are good in certain scenarios, but it's mostly about figuring out what works best for you.

You will only ever use multiple mage weapons at once (that is the point of a magic class). Yeti + sceptre works great, because you use sceptre for clear or long range and if there's a mini boss. Another amazing combo is Yeti + spoon. They each have a 1s cooldown, meaning you can cycle between them to do massive damage, while still using a sceptre for clearing mobs.
The glacial scythe is actually good 😮!!!
You have to aim at their feet, so the projectile AND explosion hit, doubling you damage. It is still not worth the 50m, but it is not as bad as you made it seem.
Midas staff is really good. Honestly it's probably a skill issue if you can't do master mode with it. I know its not for clearing, but THATS WHAT THE SPIRIT SCEPTRE IS FOR!!!!
You testing these weapons in F7 boss almost seems like you are purposely putting them into a bad environment to make the sceptre look like the only option.
One last thing. To me at least, it seems like you are so used to a wither blade that you either [1] don't know what each of the weapons you tested is used for, [2] are used to large aoe from a wither blade (bias towards the sceptre), or [3] are using the complexity of the F7 boss fight as an excuse to be biased toward the sceptre.
I usually agree with your videos and have an enjoyable time watching them, but this video is quite literally just you showing how biased you are towards a weapon. You focused way to much on clearing potential in this video, and because mage is meant to be played with a clear weapon AND a damage weapon, these tests were extremely skewed.
And you probably won't see this comment, but hopefully it gets enough likes to bring it to the top.

Going into F7 with just a Sceptre is not what I was suggesting, I was just comparing sole RCM damage against other sole RCM damage.
Ideally I would suggest using a Sceptre + an LCM weapon of your choice (Shadow Fury or Felthorn Reaper work really well) as this is miles better than any other mage options such as the Midas Staff or Yeti Sword. The LCM weapon is the boss destroyer and the SS is the clearing weapon.
As for reselling the Midas Staff, how does this change anything? There is no point in forking out 300M for an objectively underwhelming weapon when you can spend 70M of those coins on a SS + LCM Weapon and then the other 230M coins on talismans, armour, pets, etc. You're going to get better performance, it's going to be more reliable and you won't have any of the problems the Midas Staff has?
Mentioning the Midas Staff's potential in lower floors is quite literally insane, because if you're spending 300M+ to complete F6 and below, you're already doing something horribly wrong. You should be trying to complete the higher dungeon floors (M3+) spending that sort of money, and if you can't achieve that well with a Spoon, then it basically renders it as a useless upgrade

I feel like I should write an essay on this, but there's no point, since you covered most of the stuff that's important,
BUT, as you said at 27:16 you couldn't clear m3 at all, which was honestly expected. I personally wouldn't recommend mm mage before an edrag or a gdrag, and honestly, a good lcm set. Most boss mobs in mm have a RIDICOULUS amount of magic resistance, therefore rendering rcm weapons useless. (Also, let's not forget that it's archer's job to kill minis in mm clear 👀)
For F7, spirit sceptre would be enough since boss dps is USUALLY archer carried (Goldor 2 tap go brrrrrrr), but if you really want to, using a midas staff for clear IS an option but you shouldn't. There's no point in spending 300m on a mediocre weapon that can't hit mobs most of the time, the 300m can be used elsewhere, probably for a felthorn reaper or a GS and an lcm set that you can use for minis or boss.
Also a funny thing people don't realize is that spirit sceptre is just better at clear than hype for non mm floors, so keep that in mind aswell, hopefully party finder figures that one out...

    Ok so some important things
Yeti sword deals more damage when ever u are closer to the enemy
    Glacial scythe
It haves like 25% more dps then spirit scepter but You will need to aim for legs and It haves some benefits like it costs rly low amount of mana and the slowwness is rly helpful with mini bosses
And don't use midas staff for clearing
It's made for killing bosses/mini bosses
And spirit scepter for a lot of players will be just too weak for clearing f7 but it's still rly good weapon
And he was skill issuing a lot with close all of the weapons
Only weapon he was not skill issuing was with spirit scepter

    • @ModernSoldier
      @ModernSoldier  Год назад

In regards to me 'skill issuing with a lot of the weapons', this reinforces a lot of my points.
If there's a supposed learning curve (like you're implying by aiming at the feet), this makes the Glacial Scythe a much trickier weapon to use, so not only is it 3x more expensive, but it's also harder to use and basically the same in effectiveness? If this is the case, you're not really getting much of an upgrade here, but rather a more inconvenienced time in Dungeons.
What I know for certain is the Spirit Sceptre being so easy to use makes it MUCH more appealing as you don't have to try as hard, and the fact that its damage is basically on par with that of the Glacial Scythe makes it so there's no reason to upgrade at all. You're going to kill minibosses at almost the same speeds (maybe within a 1-3 second difference), your clearing will be the same and your boss damage will be unaffected since a full party will still output high enough dps numbers.
Midas Staff for only boss damage is CRAZY. If you're going to buy a weapons SPECIFICALLY for boss damage, you're better off with a Shadow Fury/Felthorn Reaper for LCM damage as they are 40M/80M and are significantly stronger boss killers. 300M for a Spoon is totally outrageous and not worth it at all.
Yeti sword being stronger the closer you are to a mob is also really bad, because what if you can't get close? What if the situation is Goldor's Tunnel where you have to keep your distance? Are you just going to run into him and get obliterated by Frenzy?
All in all you raise some valid points, but it doesn't really change the fact that the Spirit Sceptre remains consistent, reliable and easy to use. The other weapons just have too many downsides and raise too many complications when using them for F7

    • @Thanking_

      Glacial scythe 151459 damage (151,4k) +freeze +less mana cost by 300%
      Spirit scepter 96743 damage (96,7k)
And it's just rly high difference
But saying that after spirit scepter buy a 2B weapon is just rly dumb
As I said your cata level is too high
Is like testing your dread sword with cats level 40 and one shooting everything and saying every other upgrade is ussless
Let's say player with cats 25 will try f7 the spirit scepter will take like 2-3 shots to kill normal enemy's
And boss will take like 15-25s
With glacial scythe u can kill enemies with 1-2 shots and kill bosses 8-14s + making it was more easy bc they are slowed down
And 1 thing players are not buying
And saying u need to learn new strategy with Spirit scepter is rly stupid IT WILL JUST TAKE 1 RUB U just look at legs of the enemies THATS all

Couldn't disagree less. If you're having mana problems with a Spirit Sceptre then you're not optimising your mana efficiently enough (I have a whole separate video on this that covers it in extreme detail). The Glacial Scythe has a much trickier learning curve since it REQUIRES you to aim at the floor in order to double hit the mobs, which the Spirit Sceptre does not have. Both of them quite literally perform the same in the clear, but the SS is easier to use, and the same applies to minibosses and boss damage. In a full 5 man team you're not going to notice any major dps changes between the two weapons so you're quite literally forking out 50m coins for a slightly worse time in the clear and same miniboss/boss performance.

You were very unfair to glacial scythe here, the whole power of the item comes from the double damage, the projectile does damage once, then explodes on the ground/wall to do damage twice, so you have to aim at the mini bosses feet. Through all my personal testing, it has higher dps than spirit scepter with less strain on your mana, but probably is slightly worse at clearing. I personally used the scepter for clearing and scythe for bosses for a long time. The slow on scythe is incredibly useful for early players as well, lets you kite out shadow assassins

SS bat travels slowly than glacial scythe's ice projectile does, and ur aim is slightly locked till the bat reaches to an enemy or a block (unlike glacial scythe, u can just spam it everywhere without being aim-locked). Ofc u can tp with aote/aotv and look down to make bats explode instantly (which is kinda budget hyperion), but I think its actually the same 'skill requirement' like glacial scythe's leg/feet aiming thing.
SS is way more cost-effective tho, its just mage class' problem that u actually have to jump from like ~100M weapon to a 2B weapon which makes huge debate between these pre hyperion mage weapons 😅

If he aimed the Yeti Sword at Goldor and Necron so that the shots would hit it would have a similar or better performance than Spirit Sceptre.
