Your attitude and enthusiasm is contagious. New to mushrooms, I was inspired by the profound works of Paul Stamets. Have only harvested turkey tail thus far. Fancy editing!
I'm not sure how this video went unnoticed for so long but so glad to see you at it again. Your enthusiasm is so contagious it's nighttime here and I'm now seriously considering grabbing my headlamp and heading out for a stroll lol. Looking forward to more great vids, keep it up you guys!!! Cheers from east coast Canada
WELCOME BACK!!!!!! I've missed your Wonderful videos terribly!!! Look forward to much more about Wild Mushrooms.. I currently. Pick about 35 species and am always seeking new info!!!! THANK YOU for sharing your VAST knowledge!!!!
Thank you for more videos. My wife and I love watching them. We live in SE Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. Lots of shrooms here. Love it..!! Just found the Shrimp mushroom...DELICIOUS..!!!
Wow I have good luck. Find your channel yesterday, watch all your older videos, get second from the top and realize I'm just coming into this channel 2 weeks after a 3-4 year hiatus. Very stoked to see where this channel goes. Mushroom hunting is a recent passion of mine and I find every one of these videos interesting, even if have the mushies aren't in the east coast like I am.
Welcome back! Just yesterday I was wishing you would be back and like magic here you are! Sometimes magical things do happen. Looking forward to wandering in the you Tube woods with you again. Thankyou. You represent a part of this world that hasn't taken a nosedive to hell. Thank You again.
Hello and thank you! Hmmm, the Bavarian Forest is only a 5 hour drive from the Black Forest, which is a bucket list location for me to visit for mushrooms...😊✌🏽
So happy you're are back. Your enthusiasm is contagious and hopefully your knowledge will be as well. I am down in Portland and I have been on the lookout for ways to learn this land, learn how to forage here, and find a great group of folks to help me on that voyage. it can be hard when you are not sure where to start. So again, Welcome back and I look forward to learning more from you.
Thank you! Connect with the Oregon Mycological Society! They've got a meeting this Monday, Oct 22nd at 7:00 at the World Forestry Center (free for the public to attend, don't have to be a member), Taylor Lockwood is this month's speaker and you'd love it I bet. Or hit up their amazing Fall Show which is on the 28th, same place, starts at noon, $5 entry 😊👍
Thank you! I agree! I remember trying to RUclips videos about mushroom ID when I got started, it was bad...but thankfully there are a few good sources out there now.
I`m just so happy to see you back. Your videos have so much beauty and joy in them. I like how that feels. Plus I really enjoy seeing the wonderful forests that you visit.
Yaaay! So glad you are back with more videos! You were a huge inspiration for me when I started learning to identify mushrooms on my own, I share your enthusiasm for all the beauty in the forest ;) Keep up the great work!
Yeah, I see Rachel using a brush all the time! But honestly, I can tell you more about the camera, editing and youtube side of things and will leave the fungi/mushroom stuff to her!
I've got a brush attached to the other end of my knife that I use out in the woods, and sometimes at home I use a soft toothbrush for those hard to reach areas for fine tuning. (Video of me using my brush just didn't make it into the video this time around). When I first got started in foraging I didn't carry a brush, but so thankful I eventually got one, makes a world of difference.
I figured you would be brushed up on that already. I wrote it for others (viewers) really. Sadly we haven't had the rain this fall, then I've been too busy to water our grounds where have a little morel patch and finally found the Giant King of gardens, stropharia, this year. Gardening is what I'm too busy doing. Night has fallen here, so this time is allowed. Thankful for your vids as I am for you imparting your knowledge here, so wittily and willingly. Keep on...
I know this was 3 years ago but I started watching you about a year ago and I absolutely love your channel! You got me into mushrooms and now I'm obsessed! Can't wait to get to tech my kid all about mushroom and learn more myself!!
I literally just found your videos this week and love them! I watched almost all of them and was so sad when I realized they were all 3 years old. I'm stoked that you're still doing it!
Thanks for recommending that people cover up their disturbance. Some recent days hiking in Indian Heaven the trail has been littered with dug up/cut mushrooms. Commercial pickers probably, but still detracts from the experience for those who follow.
I've only been into mikology for about 3 weeks. (I note how Mikology gets underlined for spelling). I've seen all of YE videos at least 2X , and love them all, but this is the one to show to people who don't get it; but might(?). Zach and Rachel you are a great team! Many thanks for the entertainment.
Yay! So stoked to see your vids popping up again! Looks like you’re having a bunch of fun with it, too. Would love to see some more info on IDing and uses of fungi. Welcome back! 🍄🌲🍄
Thank you so much! We are having fun with it! And absolutely we'll be doing more ID info...I've got a silly video in mind to kick us off with mushroom ID that I think people will appreciate 😀
I was finding you so helpful. Glad you're back. Had a crazy time in Killarney provincial park Ontario recently. Soooooo many mushrooms of different kinds including first black trumpets.
@@bradleykmdean I did no harvesting. Not even the trumpets. I'm conflicted about removing/shortening the time visible of these beautiful things in well-visited areas, even though I want them for my plate. The difference between Killarney and that park couldn't be starker in terms of which is more barren of specimens.
Elanor! I loved seeing this new vid on my RUclips subs! Finally tried fresh foraged mitsutakes & chanterelles from the market here in the South & I can't wait to get up NW next year and forage for them, and am sooooo glad you are back! Give us some tips on when & where as in what's growing nearby & the signs of the season!
I love your channel and I love the longer videos because I get all pumped up watching you run around the woods while I run on the treadmill. I use to get bored and want to jump off fast but your videos are really enjoyable ^_^ so my run is over before I realize it
Living on the east coast, I've never even heard of a white chanterelle! It's awesome to see you back, I was really bummed when I found your channel and saw that you weren't posting anymore. I just wish youtube told me you started posting again sooner!
Also, on the topic of it being somewhat hard for people to get started mushroom hunting - what I did at first was just google what it looked like. For example, "yellow/orange mushroom growing on tree." It's a pretty obvious thing to do, people still overlook it. After a while of doing that, I found some really good mushroom/mushroom ID groups on facebook, and they've really helped me
Fungi are fantastic, that's for sure! I've learned most of my mushrooms on my own, too -- and sure appreciate the folks that have made guidebooks and those all-essential identification keys. There's such tremendous diversity in the Pacific Northwest. It's hard not to be a fungus fanatic around here, lol. Happy mushroom hunting!
Glad to see you back on the RUclips. I enjoyed your videos immensely because they are educational, interesting, and well-edited! I can’t wait to see more! From a fellow myco enthusiast - happy hunting!
Welcome back! You have a wonderful verve. Oddly.... I got here viaTerrence McKenna. He also had wonderful mushroom stories... but I digress. Subscribed. Let's cook some.
I just discovered you and so glad I did. Your knowledge of the mushroom and the way you present it is awesome. I'm picking up what your putting down girl!! Keep the videos coming!
Hi! Greetings from guadalajara, mexico! In my nick of the woods we also have a lot of mushrooms, mostly in spring and winter... rainy season! Your channel is awesome, and I am honored to be able to watch your videos. OF course, up in the pacific northwest you have some different mushies, but strangely enough, I have found 2 or 3 morchellas grouwing next to the sidewalk under a little ficus tree... wow! We also have some delicious yellow boletes and a LOT of oysters growing in the woods around my city! hahaha even just regular champignons in the compost pile! one day I even found a hen of the woods growing right out there in the garden... Love this mushroom hunting! Happy foraging! Saludos amiga!
Fungus cam for the name of your camera. My wife and I love your show! Hello from 2 expats mushroom hunters living in the south of France. Have you ever thought of hunting truffles? We are currently training our dogs to find them. Keep up the great work both!
Haha, okay that's a good one! I have thought about hunting truffles, but I'm not going to do it until I go with someone who has a trained animal. How fun that you're training your dogs to find them! And in France, the truffle capital of the world, perfect.
Love the video and welcome back, happy to meet your brother (awesome content and editing). Your enthusiasm and personality is infectious, I looking forward to E2.
Yay for more fungi videos! You guys make a great team! Rachel's enthusiasm is contagious. :) And nice editing skills, Zach. Made me chuckle :) Looking forward to many more!!

Your attitude and enthusiasm is contagious. New to mushrooms, I was inspired by the profound works of Paul Stamets. Have only harvested turkey tail thus far. Fancy editing!

Welcome back! Your videos are great and I also enjoy the scenery of the PNW.
Got to love the scenery of the PNW!
Thank you! Yes, the PNW is not short on nice views and beautiful forests.
I hit up Olympic NP back in May and there wasn't a ton of mycological diversity evident, but everything else---just amazing.
I love hiking there, I never knew there was so much variety there
Oh yes, so much variety, especially when taking the time to slow down and notice all the little things.
Love your channel and I’m so glad to see you back on the Tube!
Thanks so much!
Welcome back!! I'm happy to see your video again! It's been a year for me. Look forward to seeing next video from Canada.

So happy this just popped up on my sub feed.
Awesome. I love the diversity of mushrooms as well.
Thanks, the diversity is one of the things that really hooked me when it comes to mushrooms.
I got into mushroom hunting as a small child. I still get totally excited.
Haha, it's easy to keep that child-like enthusiasm with mushrooms.
YASSSS GIRL. More more more, there is a huge void of info about mushrooms for beginners!
Thank you! I agree! I remember trying to RUclips videos about mushroom ID when I got started, it was bad...but thankfully there are a few good sources out there now.
wonderful, was hoping you may make more videos
Thank you 😊
I totally share your excitment when finding mushrooms!!
Hooray! I'm glad you do 😀
I`m just so happy to see you back. Your videos have so much beauty and joy in them. I like how that feels. Plus I really enjoy seeing the wonderful forests that you visit.
Thank you! I love being able to share the beauty of the forest with everyone. 😊
Welcome back!
Thank you!
That Techno-Beat section made me a subscriber! Enjoyed your videos before and enjoying them now.
Haha, I will be sure to let my brother know 😆
So excited to see what you have in store for us....I'm just getting into foraging🌞
Awesome! And thank you ☺️
Yaaay! So glad you are back with more videos! You were a huge inspiration for me when I started learning to identify mushrooms on my own, I share your enthusiasm for all the beauty in the forest ;) Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! I'm glad to have helped inspire you on your mushroom ID journey 😊
Trimming is good too, but a brush, a soft one like a paint brush is fine. Gets off the debris without bruising. Good Hunting, fun it is.

Yeah!! Hi Rachel!! I'm so happy to see a new video!
Thanks Paula! PS, got your email, will be responding to that after replying to comments here ☺️
Yay more fun guys !
(random tip: you could write the names mushrooms that you show in close up but not necessarily talk about, like at the very end:)
Yopopó Chemengaunakanewerenhā I like that idea!
Cool suggestion, thanks!
You are awesome! Its also great to see two siblings exploring together.

Thank you so much, glad to be back ☺️
Welcome back
Thank you ☺️
I enjoy your energy and little crasyness about fungies and your love of nature I'm not alone now with that passion…..Keep up the good work
Oh you are definitely not alone in that, glad you like the fungi as much as I do!
Surprised to see a new video. Glad you are back. I have learned a lot from you.
Woohoo been waiting for more videos! Makes me happy seeing someone else as exited to go mushroom hunting as I am. And what a beautiful location!
Thanks! There are so many of us excited mushroom nerds out there 😀
I literally just found your videos this week and love them! I watched almost all of them and was so sad when I realized they were all 3 years old. I'm stoked that you're still doing it!
Here's to many more episodes!
What good timing in finding the videos! I'm glad you're excited, me too ☺️
Awesome Earthy Lady! Thanks, I'm learning a lot.
Yay! I’m so glad you’re back! Your videos were definitely some of my favorite. Mushroom foragers unite!
Hooray! Thank you so much!
Thanks for recommending that people cover up their disturbance. Some recent days hiking in Indian Heaven the trail has been littered with dug up/cut mushrooms. Commercial pickers probably, but still detracts from the experience for those who follow.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching, and for also covering your mushroom tracks :)
very glad your back, I enjoyed all the videos you had before. cant wait to see more
Thanks so much!

I haven’t been picking mushrooms since you stopped posting :( welcome back
Oh no...well hopefully you can get back out there soon!
So glad you're posting new vids. Great photography and editing by the way! And, as always, an infectious enthusiasm. All the best from Hampshire, UK
