    I've had my S8+ for a year and its been amazing. It replaced two different Chrome OS devices, one tablet (2020 Lenovo Duet) and a convertible laptop (2019 HP x360) and I don't miss ChromeOS at all. My mom just got a Tab S8 Ultra for note taking and although its too big for me, she really likes it and its a huge upgrade over her Tab A7. Everything works really well especially with the rest of the Samsung ecosystem. My family is a bit weird in the US since we all use Samsung Notes/Ultra phones, watches, and ear buds but we've been using Samsung since the Note 3 and we have zero desire to switch because Samsung just gives you those little extras that make a huge difference.

    I chair a few boards of directors, and this device is awesome for making notes on board packet PDF files and for using need in meetings. And the notes are synced with my phone automatically. It's great for email, I almost never boot up my pc anymore. The Ultra is my daily go-to device. Great review!

      That's how I view things. I think it's important to find the OS you are comfortable with and then pick a tablet from there. In the Android ecosystem the Ultra and the S8 Plus are the best. The S8 Ultra can be too big for some, but perfect for many. The S8 Plus is a good buy too, just slightly smaller. And both go on sale pretty frequently, and are pretty cheap on the used market. I think you are making a good decision

    Its getting damn close to replacing a laptop for business work productivity especially if most of your work is chrome or chromium browser based apps. And the tab S8 can do things laptops can not do. Speakers are far far superior too.

      @Bilw i just checked right now. all they have was locked 5g versions with128gb. maybe thyre not expecting a lot of buyers from usa since usa has stronger wifi than other countries. i want 4g and 5g if im out on the field and theres no wifi. phones hotspot isnr enough. but they it strange

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      The only real difference is just that you would have to buy a cellular plan if you want to use the LTE or 5G and if you do end up using it on cellular data, it does drain more battery life than Wi-Fi. Outside of that, any cellular models will be exactly the same

    I can get one around $300, are the compromises worth it? The lack of range of motion on the back stand, the keyboard clicking on the edges. I'm only going to use the keyboard when I'm at a coffee shop, or for light web browsing. I love how the OS changes to very good laptop experience and I'm not worried about that aspect. Your thoughts?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      Personally, if you're talking about the keyboard itself, which it sounds like you are, I don't think it's worth $300. $300. I've had several issues with it. Honestly. It seems very flimsy. And I've had minor issues, like when I use the shift key and press space at the same time, nothing happens. It's supposed to bring up a language menu but that doesn't happen. And when I turn off bringing up the language menu, it still won't create a space. That means when I'm typing really quickly it's missing keystrokes, especially when I type a capital i because every time you do that you're holding the shift key and then you're pressing the space bar to type something else. So it's missing a keystroke almost every time I do that, especially since I type a little faster.
      Nowadays you could find that keyboard cover for like 150 or so on eBay in mint condition. I would look for something like that. it's a much better deal for that price and it's still a pretty good keyboard for those who type a little slower than me. Or you can just get something like the Samsung book cover and you can get a separate keyboard. You could still use a keyboard shortcut to open up dex anyway.
      Just my opinion. Hope it helps

    • @vadoiski

      @Android Digest is this just that unit or do you think the shift issue will be a problem on all units?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      I get it. But let's address this a different way. You can get one of these used for about $650. Even in mint condition. What laptop for $650 has an OLED screen with this good of a resolution at 120hz? It has some disadvantages for sure compared to laptops but it can do a lot of things a laptop can do with a much better screen. But it's definitely not for everyone. And at full retail price I definitely think it's too expensive

      Yeah the tablet is very very heavy so the keyboard cover struggles to hold it up if you push it down far enough. I covered that when I reviewed the keyboard cover, gave it a pretty negative review. Hoping they improve the keyboard cover

    Amazing video mann. Do you recommend this tablet for someone whose a student? I don't really use microsoft apps I use google docs and other stuff on my drive. I really like the big screen and great speaker for multimedia consumption. And btw one question: How is the battery after few months of usage? Thank you for the video.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      Got to watch the full video 🤣. I've even got time stamps and I talk about student life a little bit. But simply put, if you don't need Microsoft apps and your college doesn't have specific Windows applications you need to use then absolutely I would recommend it. This tablet would be tough to fit on a desk if you have the keyboard case because the kickstand will take up a lot of extra space... So you may just want to find a a case and a good Bluetooth keyboard that won't take up a lot of space. You could always get a Bluetooth keyboard like the MX keys mini if you want to really nice premium keyboard. But yeah, it's super nice and good for basic usage. Obviously you can use Google drive on Android and the multimedia experience will be far better than other devices. You won't get a full desktop browser, but this device makes up for it in a lot of other ways. I definitely recommend it

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      As far as battery life, that one's a little tougher. Yes, this has a good battery life in my opinion, but it's not the greatest. Depending on what you're doing. It could die quickly. If you're just doing Google docs and stuff, depending on your brightness you could get anywhere between 6 and 9 hours. But it can vary

    I have a Tab 7plus....is it worth the upgrade??

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      For me, yes. The tab s7 plus released one Android update behind. So even with the software support it received, it's not going to receive much more. But this tablet released with the newest OS and it's getting four years of software updates. To me. That's a massive deal. As far as the hardware, I don't think there's much of a difference between this and what you have now. I think the screen will look just as good. The ultra in particular is just much bigger. Which has a lot of pros and cons. The keyboard case has some issues for me, and it's too big to fit on a small desk. But the keyboard case is also backlit. On the other hand, the screen is incredible for videos and having a huge screen like this is amazing. It's less portable but it's also better for drawing and better for watching movies or entertaining yourself. In short, I would recommend upgrading. I can't guarantee you'll get a great trade-in deal, but if you buy this one really cheap or on the used market, I bet you could trade it in for most of what you paid for anyway if you wanted a tab. S9. But if you decide to keep this in the long haul, the 4 years of updates makes it a really appealing option to me, especially since you could find this on sale pretty regularly

    Buy laptop or this tab ?which is the best??

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +2

      Well you've got to watch the video in full 🤣. I do talk about a lot of the pros and cons there. Essentially though, if you are primarily doing productivity work, I would still buy a laptop first. Especially if you need windows programs for anything. But if you do a ton of entertainment on your device and you also want to do some productivity, a tablet can be a great option. As long as you don't need windows programs, you will get a better screen on a tablet, you will have better tools with a stylus, it will be a lot more portable, and for those people who watch a lot of videos for work or do video calls, tablets are great for that too.
      Laptops are going to have better keyboards, they are going to be better for people who spend most of their day doing productivity work. They will have access to more programs that you can't get on. Android. But their screens are normally worse than Android tablet screens. So I think a lot of it depends on what you need. If you do a lot of entertainment and productivity is something on the side then definitely I would get an Android tablet. But it does depend on who you are and what you need

  • @commissionchairman3435
    @commissionchairman3435 6 месяцев назад

    Tablet is just a toy. The phone can replace tablet. But tablet cannot replace a laptop. Tablet is useless. You only need a phone and a laptop. The phone can do anything tablet can do and much more. You do not need a tablet if you have a smartphone. If you feel phone screen size is small, the tablet screen size is not big enough either. For people want big screen size, use laptop, monitor, TV or projector. Tablet can connect to these, so can a smartphone or laptop

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 месяцев назад

      I get what you're saying. But some people don't do as much on a laptop, some people don't need laptops, and tablets like this have better screens, often they have better speakers, sometimes they have better battery life, there's a lot of perks to using a tablet. It can be a toy, but it can do more. Not as much as a laptop, but the things it does, it is often better at vs a laptop. Overall I just think it's complicated.
