Hi
I'm not going to lie, I thought I was clicking on a GMM video haha
I thought I was clicking on a food theory video
Soooooo did i
True
@@Ari-tt2wd I also at first glance thought it was a Food Theory video.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one🤣 this was solid content though!
If moisture loss is recorded in percentage, was there a need to equalize the weight? Cutting the patties would introduce a lot of variables I think.
ZOMG! maths....maths is hard!
Cutting off the edges to adjust the starting weight definitely skewed the results. Wouldn't it have been easier to just record all the starting weights and end weights and then just do the math?
That is what I was expecting them to do ...... they let me down.
agreed, no way to know how much 'juice' was lost while cutting and handling.
Yeah , I was surprised as well. Also they should have had more examples of each.
McDonald’s would have still one one the big one, idk if you’ve had a quarter pounder recently but that thing is juicy
Actually they should have put them in a hydraulic press and squeezed all the juice out with 1500 tons of force. Then they could have calculated actual juiciness not water loss.
Juicy is just what a marketing genius came up with to replace greasy.
Wouldn't it have been easier to have ordered a plain or without sauce burger. He managed to ask for no cheese????
Not the Wendy's burger though with the cheese???
@@mrbear1302 nate might not have got that one?
I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s confused as to why they cut down the patty when they could’ve just calculated the percentages and gotten much more precise results.
Why didn't you you just order plain burgers on the first set to avoid having to scrape off all the fixings lol
Lol
And to make it have less variables, due to not being able to get all of the condiments off.
They put different size pattys on some burgers and they wanted to get biggest meat patties possible to test on and then the smallest
And they can only be ordered on certain sandwiches
You have a point
That just tells me McDonald's patties are mostly water.
😜
used to work at a fast food restaurant and now work at a family restaurant. sometimes people ask for plain burgers or even extra patties on the side for their dogs/pets (commonly dogs though) so, though it sounds weird to ask for a plain burger or even just the patty, it isn't all that uncommon
Weird idea, see how strong different hair gels hold.

It’s not about being juicy, Wendy’s uses a higher quality meat than the other guys, if you can deal with the square burgers. 😂
Yup, they just taste better and is juicier, not more watery.
Fresh never frozen beef.
Square burger patties...and this is why White Castle is a superior burger as well.
All hail the king of burgers: The Baconator! Salute his captain of the guard: The Monster!
@@Matthew-uc7heThe USDA will shut down any business that deals with "fresh never frozen" meat. Because of the realities of the logistics chain, frozen meat is basically mandated by the USDA due to the sheer volumes involved.
After you guys said. Burgerjuice in the first minute, I already wanted to type "Freezedry it!"
try filling up a deep fryer with random liquids
Fill it with molten crayons

And then do what with it?

@@juggernautAA12 they'd have a big pot of parafin wax
Juiciness is the amount of fatty content. Water isn't juice. It's like water-chill chicken having no taste vs. air-chilled being quite juicy.
I came to say this lol
You can order a patty by itself. The bread soaks a lot of everything up.
Hey guys, I subscribed to you guys a couple days ago and started binge watching your RUclips videos! I love your video, they are so amazing and interesting ❤️❤️😂 love you all
*Fun Fact: Fun facts aren’t fun and usually aren’t even facts, including this one*
Fun fact: that's funny
"Hi, welcome to Wendy's how can I mess up your order today?"
Can you please do some life hacks please like the old time’s
I'm not sure what the mean by "with science" because this test has sooooo many confounding variables that you really can't draw any conclusions whatsoever from this. Don't get me wrong, love the video idea but just a couple problems with the scientific method
Test the packaging compared to the 'food' to see which has the most nutritional content.
thats mat work
I never thought I’d need to know this but once I think about it makes sense.
Thanks TKOR!
Most carnists aren't capable of THINKING. Besides, YOU didn't "THINK about it", all you did was parrot what THEY told you to "think". HA!
I thought it strange that you trimmed them. You could have calculated initial weight / freeze dried weight.
I dont know why i was expecting you to more or less juice the burgers lol
You have to bare in mind, flame broiling meat causes it to already lose moisture during the cooking process. So that explains why Burger King "lost" this contest.
Cali looks like her mind is somewhere else. You ok?
Hamburgers. But no ham, only beef.
You trimmed some of them, why didn"t you cut each in half before drying them?
why would he have?
@@rbad6215 He is saying, the edges are releasing moisture faster. Also if he doesn"t trim all of them, some have the caramelisation on the side, which chefs say is keeping the juices inside.
I work at one of the 3. You could have easily just asked for Just a pattie and also made fresh. In a FF kitchen, the meat has a possibility of sitting for a time period, in which they do loose moisture. Not to mention they are all cooked differently. BK is flame broiled, McD is frozen and cooked on a flat top, and Wendys is fresh patties cooked on a flat top with a flat lid top.
Independent variable: The brand of burger
Dependent variable: How it tastes
Controlled variable: The packaging
Fun fact Wendy’s uses a higher quality meat than the others , and they get fresh meat like every couple days it’s never frozen. The others come as frozen bricks 🧱!
You know you can always order burgers plain, without any sauce and other ingredients. Just the burger and the bread.
the bun soaks up the juice though
@@InitialPC Trust me, there is not a lot of juice left after they leave the grill/broiler.
Those things are pretty dry.
Facts .
1. McDonald's freezes their meat frys then puts meat in a warm tub of water.
2. Burger King freezes their meat cooks over propane flames then into a tub of water.
3. Wendy's never freezes their meat (ordered or stored) frys meat . Cooked to order. Excess meat is made into chili meat . Usually they have to deliberately cook chili meat due to their efficiency.
Now if you like your burger soaking up tap water then McDonald's and Burger King is for you.
I'm going with Wendy's fresh never frozen or bathed burger.
P.S. you really should see those bins they use for the burger water. Nasty, bacteria, particles....gross.
I have seen those tubs, I believe they are (supposed to be) changed daily or even multiple times a day.
@@Jdbye those tubs should be but ....my point is "Tap water" is not meat juice . You set a dry hamburger in a bowl of water it will soak it up. How many times have you ever done that when BBQ'ing burgers ? To achieve "juiceiness" one cooks it at different degrees like "rare, med rare, med" etc. Not well done then put into tub of water to be able to swallow it.
Wendy's is the juiciest hands down
Oh and how about the fries from every restaurants curly fries McDonald’s fries Arby’s fries will try lose moisture or some like that?
Watching this on a night shift and now I'm hungry for burgers. Thanks for that..
Wendy's is superior! I knew Calli was my soulmate! Time to go get a Baconator.
Mmmmmmm, bacon

I always wanted to know which restaurant would give me a heart attack the fastest
😂
That would be heart attack
I wonder what grabt thinks of this as he looks down from heaven... he will forever be missed :(
Love Cali when said tastes like a burger and Nate said hey that's what we are going for... Hilarious.... Love y'all!
Juicyness of a burger is caused by the grease content, not the water content. All you're testing here is how wet and soggy a burger is, not how much grease is in it
You guys should go to the chains and ask for the pre cooked meats so you all can Cook it the same so it will restrain the moistures since it's juices could have been unintentionally removed due to Nate trying to removing the sauces from top of it with the tissue.
Should have also had Dairy Queen's burgers on here
they probably didn't want to choke to death
No
VIDEO IDEA: put those animals(that grow in water)/orbeez in different liquids like, thick water, tipes of sauces, soda, petrol, oil, acid, honey, anti freeze, mud and some of your own ideas😃
It would be really cool to see how and if they grow
1:10 Calli looking awfully hungry...
I knew at this moment that not all of the hamburgers would make it to the freeze-dryer.
You guys should do a blind taste test to see which fast food restaurant has the best fries, burgers, and chicken nuggets in your opinion.
You can also do other food but I thought that those things are going to be the most common things you would find in a fast food restaurant.
I feel like the more important question is whether it's beef juice or water that provide the moisture. @TheWolfePit talks about the scam of frozen "waterburgers" a lot.
To be fair, beef juices are mostly water.
Love the vid and the big burger 🍔
“Taste like like hamburger” Cali 2021 and who likes the video before watching it
the more water content In the meat doesn't mean it's less juicy, it means it's less meat with more water. so the ones that lost the least should be the best.
I have a couple ideas for you guys, based on how McDonald's burgers don't rot, so my ideas are,
what does it take to make McDonald's rot/get moldy?
and is it possible to make other fast food burgers not rot as well?
Wendy's for lunch/dinner sometimes but if it's breakfast time I'm going for Hardees!!! lol
I know it isn't related to fast food but can you guys do an experiment with lemon juice and baking soda
Thanks for making this video that we all wanted this question answered but didn’t know yet until now. This video just answered America’s biggest question.
Fun fact everyone watching now hasn’t even watched 2 minutes of the vid
Yep

FYI a regular hamburger patty from McDonald's is a 1/10 pound patty. At least it was when I worked there like 18 years ago.
Hey guys!
I like the layout of this new video! The way you guys did the scale and the info was super cool!
Can't wait to see new videos! 😊
You should do another with In-N-Out, 5 Guys and someone else's
06:45 nice cookies
The employees at mcdonalds really does put their blood, sweat and tears into their burgers.
Carl's Jr!!!... Wish I had one near me but they all left. 😭
For those travelling East and looking for familiar fast food, Carl's Jr. is called Hardee's. They still use the star and same style of branding.
@@VoltisArt oh yeah. Used to go to them a long time ago in Road trips out east. I'm in Dallas and there's not too many Carl's Jr's here.
This video is the most practical for me trying to decide where to get my burgers from from this point on! Everything is hanging in the balance of this video. 😂
You should freeze dry play dough
Yes that would be cool!
No In n Out?, no Five Guys?, no Jack in the Box? ( I know there are more but thats all I have ever had plus the others they showed)
Watching when I haven’t eaten lunch. It’s 1:18PM. Now I really want burgers
I know, right? I want burgers so bad...
You should have actually "juiced" the patties warm to get the fats so you have the "juiciness" factor. Also should have taken off a percentage based on cooked weight of each patty.
Confirmed Summer 2021: TKOR's Meat Crackers™.
Cali looks so different from videos she did in like late 2019 to early 2020 i haven't noticed it was here in last few videos
Basically the overall consensus I'm getting is that, Burger King is the best. In terms of size, price, flavor and juiciness combined. I kinda already knew that though.
Orange juice with pulp. Technically food and very juicy. Found at fast food establishments.
I’ve always felt like McDonald’s burgers are wet… not juicy but like watery. But I could be crazy
I think it will probably be Wendy's
I have an idea, put dry ice in caramel
This would have been a much better representation of a true experiment if you cut them into the same dimensions, then weighed them, then dehydrated them, then reweighed them.
Test frozen vs fresh at home. Wendy's claims that their burgers are "better" because the patties are fresh. Put that to the test in a "home kitchen"
Sounds like Nate inhaled helium. Lol I could go for a Dave’s triple right about now!
Test how long it takes for the burgers to mold!
McDonalds already won that one. Their burgers don't mold.
Ngl at McDonald's at least the patties lose a lot of moisture in the heated cabinet and HLZ you need to get a cook to order one when they're not busy. Also you can order a pattie alone for both the regular meat and quarter pounder meat. Idk how it is for the other places since the only fast food job for me thus far has been McDonald's
What happens when you freeze dry wet cement
It gets dry
On the paper and silk grinder video you did what if you put silk in the middle with paper on the outside with a couple layers of silk and paper
which one goes bad first
Not McDonalds it never gets old :\
Try freeze drying the meat and turning it into cotton candy
Now this is what the people need.
the only problem with getting a lot of fast food the juice's evaporate after only 10 minutes and depending on if you ordered fresh food the products have been sitting in a holding cabnet so that they dont have to cook every single burger fresh
Meat can have water added to it to boost the weight. The fact that the McDs burger lost the most is more suspicious than a sign of it being the 'juiciest'. Combined with the fact that the patty was already suspiciously underweight from the start...
Lol
The Dave looks like an actual hamburger
Honestly, in the UK they all taste like cardboard, and when served with "fries" cardboard and cardboard rolls. AND, you are hungry again 20 minutes after eating one.
Coming for Food Theory over here, huh guys? lol
I kind of want to go to a fast food place and ask for just the burger now :).
We don't get as many choices in the UK, but between Mc Donald burgers and Burger King's, Burger King wins hands down, but should do considering the price difference between them.
The cutting was completely unnecessary. Just divide the after weight by the before weight and you get the percent of the patty that isn't water.
yes, thought the same, but keeping it simple for the ones not understanding
@@sneez9461 gotta agree with ya there
I am a proud Burger King manager.
I’m happy you like our burger
Giant jelly bean plzzz 😄
For Wendy's you literally have to say No Cheese or you will get cheese. You can actually get just the patties for 1 to 3$ depending on whether you get the junior (small) or the single (big)
now I need to try freeze dried burger patties
FYI From a McDonald’s worker you could just order the meat
