I lucked out and caught these guys live in Detroit shortly after I got out of the military. The show was INCREDIBLE - I've never heard such a rapid-fire attack of double-kick bass drums in my life, sounded like the walls of the club were bowing outwards from the pressure! Bought everything I could find by them immediately afterwards - Chris Reed has been one of my favorite male vocalists ever since....

This is not mimed. You can hear the breathy inflections in chris reed' voice. Plus he is a damn good singer, you can see him sustaining his vocal as he attacks the mic. The drummer has triggers set on the edge of his analog drums and yes he is playing along to a syncopated digi beat but who cares, there alot of great synth utilized bands out there. It's an additional tool to create a wave of sounds. This is def live

knowing well Nothing Wrong (I bought the album 30 years ago) this is definitely mimed. It sounds exactly as the studio version. The rest, of course, is correct

the vocals may be live, but everything else is clearly mimed

Damn! That was great to see…can you imagine this on MTV today?! Still one of my favorites bands today-and saw them at St Andrews in Detroit I think in 1988. Thanks for sharing

I saw them sometime in '86, in Detroit as well. There's a listing on the web that they also played there on other dates. One of my all-time favorite concerts!

Shame, you were unlucky. Saw them a bunch of times in the mid to late eighties and never saw a bum show. Last time I saw them was at The Dome in Tuffnell Pk and the first time I saw them I met the love of my life. . . thunderbolt bumping and grinding to talk about the weather. . .how perfect was that?! Have been a huge RLYL fan ever since.

A lot of people who thought they knew me back then, who didn't have a frggn clue, had me down as a Sisters fan. . .don't know why as I was really disappointed with the release of First, Last and Always. I only ever listened to The Lorries over the Sisters and never wanted to see the Sisters live. Always thought RLYL were more honest. Passionate and just oozed raw talent by comparison. A few of the old Bauhaus crew adopted RLYL Never saw the Lorries sell out as Eldritch and Hussey did. I guess I would say that as a Crass and cold wave fan but as much as I love my goth, I just can't seem to be able to shake off the Post Punk. Lorries were just so perfect stomp. I will give credit to Sisters though as 'train' always and still makes me flirt with the dancefloor. Hey ho Jo shmo.

i am so glad that this great band remains pretty well hidden today. i like the sisters and the mission somewhat but those guys just dont have the continuity that rlyl had.

The performance the lorries had in 1985 was amazing. Maybe you were unable to get a clear view which is why you're whining...
