Afternoon Travis!! you can have all the equipment that your shop can hold, but if you don't know how to use it, it's useless, but Travis most definitely does know how to use it!!! This all adds up to experience!!!
Making the patterns is definitely the most difficult part for me. If one takes their time and plans ahead it can save a lot of time. Thanks for demonstrating what your thoughts process is in that area.
Nice work you have done a beautiful job on the patch panel you have your work cut out repairing previous repairs your not scared to take on a project as rough as this I understand this is a rare body style! If anyone will repair this you will buddy your workmanship is second to none ! Looking forward with your next video! Regards cs nsw Australia
Thanks for sharing, Travis! It is amazing, watching you fabricate whatever needs fabricating! That corner of the Vicky came out, beautifully! 'Looking forward to future progress and projects! Enjoy! Be safe! Bro Harry
This 36 seems to be a real mess. I am really impressed with what you've done so far, your thought process and evaluation as to how this car got into this state. I'm really looking forward to your next video.
Phenomenal job on that Vicky. A little different from one side to the other isn’t a big deal. I’ve seen several early cars that were like that. As long as it’s appealing to the eye, it’s all good! That ‘36 will be smooth sailing for a man with your skills! Good job friend, looking forwards to the next one.
Very Nice Travis....Never be discouraged after receiving parts from the Blaster. Now you have a Clear Mind of what's lying underneath & when you get it fixed you'll have the Peace of Mind... Travis did you notice my comment on the last Vicky video? I need to know the door skin width. Hoping it's 30" or wider.
I guess the easiest thing to do is buy a replacement floor for the 36 roadster? 40:45 All I can is WOW. It looks to me as the left part of the roof is pushed down compared to the right on the 32.
Travis it looks like the left side of he roof got pushed down over all??? Great panel it sorts out the rest of the Krazy Frankenstein stuff. I like the use of the gauges they do come in very handy
I love the shape templates you are using. I was thinking if you find the center line of the body. Then you can measure from the center line to the edge of the template on the passenger side. Then when you go to the driver side you will have the starting point. That should locate the new patch exactly mirrored from the passenger side.
The 36 had a lot of honest old patches, but that looks like a pretty darn good body to start a build with IMHO. And I agree. I think the Vicky had damage on that rear corner roof area before the chop and they went ahead and chopped it anyway. It looked like a tree fell on it to me.
I noticed when you step back and showed the car from behind , you can see the rag top cut out on the right hand side but not on the left-hand side , like the roof is twisted !!
Afternoon Travis...WOW, that 36 is a mess, I definitely will be watching, very interested in how you pull this one off!! You mentioned you were buying patches instead of making them, who would you recommend buying patches from? Brookville? I need the driver's door lower, right/left lower quarter...NICE JOB!!! Be safe!!! God Bless!!!
That 36 roadster makes me feel so much better about my sedan and the patch I made in the wheel well. What lower dies are you using on the English wheel? I have the same wheel and only got one die with it
Making these panels truly is "magic"!! I would offer one suggestion to enhance what comes through from your videos. As you, or anyone else, uses the wheel to shrink, stretch, shape these panels, the viewer cannot see how the panel is reacting to what you are doing with the wheel. It's all but impossible to get a feel for your goals/objectives as you go back and forth and turn the piece as you are using the wheel. Since we can't see how the panel is reacting, can you a few minutes in one video where you are forming one of these complex panels saying "this needs to come up along this line so I'm doing X with the wheel to try to make that happen". Turn the panel and offer a similar explanation of what you are trying to accomplish. It could/would add lots of understanding to "the magic" you are performing in your little "magic theater"!!
I wonder if that corner got hit with a forklift by an inexperienced operator or something. Patently unrelated: I learned how to drive a forklift when I was 11.
I like that corner is all one piece, it takes talent and knowledge to get a flat sheet into a shape like that, 👍 great job

Wow great work 👏👏
Art is making what's in the mind's eye and talent is duplicating what is already made. You have talent.

Them patches puts me in the mind of a bunch of grade school kids work.
Sorry for the spam reply. Yeah they were rough!
"Not going crazy on this car"... just hand forming metal that is better than factory stuff. Awesome.
Looking good
Great vid................. 👍👍👍👍
Nice clean work! Thanks for sharing!
I can't believe the curvature that you are able to put into a flat piece of sheetmetal! Fantastic job on the Vicky so far. You are on track.
that piece for the Vicky is sweet, great job
Thanks! Sorry for the spam reply
Love your channel, glad Carters Auto restyling recommend it.
Your videos are truly informative and enjoyable.
Great video! Really enjoyed seeing how you shaped that piece. Thanks for sharing that. ✌😁
good work kid and never cut corners. never met you but i love your work
Wonderful work
Top came out great.
Thank you!
If you have doming dies. You can use them as planishing tool and reduce the height of the corner . Looking at your gages , it looks like to much dome.
Its amazing watching you mold flat metal into the shape you want it
Sorry for that spam reply. It takes a lot of hard work but it is very rewarding
Excellent job Travis looks great
You’re an artist with metal my friend
I try my friend!
Awesome 😎 keep it coming !best channel on RUclips🤙🏽
And you did an amazing job fabricating that piece wow !!

You and Matt from Iron Trap Garage are awesome when it comes to fabrication. It would be awesome to see you guys on a show together.

Great job. Congrats
Sorry for the spam reply, thank you!
I had a Vicky! I loved that car!! TCI frame, 350/700r4 lots of goodies. Made the rear a hatch cause I had a back seat! Had more than 2 butts!!
Good job man...👍🏴
I really appreciate your commitment to perfection! Stick with it!👍
NICE JOB ON THAT PATCH PANEL , LOOKING FORWARD TO YOU WORKING ON THAT 36
I think that turned out pretty damn good. Looks like if you keep on with it well it's going to turn out very good.
Thanks!

Very nice work Mate!
You were wondering why they welded around the rear door maybe the moved the door post back to flush mount the doors

Sorry for the spam reply’s. Yes there are a lot of panels in this 36’ future!

Have you measured from the center of the window to each side? Are they the same distance from center to outside edge.
I love the shape templates you are using. I was thinking if you find the center line of the body. Then you can measure from the center line to the edge of the template on the passenger side. Awesome!!! 🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎

Yeah it’s not terrible I think the fact that there was an inch of bondo covering the patches and the floor skews my opinion on the whole thing.
Looks like the doors were maybe going for the flush fitting with a gap
I noticed when you step back and showed the car from behind , you can see the rag top cut out on the right hand side but not on the left-hand side , like the roof is twisted !!
👍🏻🍺
When you use a planishing hammer, or a English wheel, do they work harden the material?
Celebration 🍾
Just about every inch of that car needs to be done over , alot of hours . i wonder if they make replacement panels ?
👍

Looks really nice. Did you ever have to tune up or polish the wheels on your harbor freight wheel? I have the same one
Thanks! I haven’t tuned them up at all just they way they came. I just keep the panels clean for the most part
That ‘36 is ROUGH! Hopefully the available patches are usable.
That 36 roadster makes me feel so much better about my sedan and the patch I made in the wheel well. What lower dies are you using on the English wheel? I have the same wheel and only got one die with it
Jegs offers a set of lower anvils you can use with that english wheel.
Didn't you mention the owner of the Vicky wants it cleaned up to flip it? I got $5 that says once he sees the work he will keep it instead...
English wheel….Gloves Travis!

Nice job on the shaping but man that car is a mess
I sure hope nobody paid for the previous "work" done on this car!
Sorry for the spam reply! Yeah I hope not too
Man.you do great work but the music really sucks. Sorry .
Can’t please everyone sorry man
