49:03 Harry repeating what Ron saw in the Mirror of Erised because he has no idea whats normal for a kid his age to desire is such a heatbreaking but overlooked detail
I feel like it's more likely that it was just the first thing he thought of because he knew he had to come up with a lie, fast. So he used a fresh memory as reference, as most people would. That's how most brains are wired. I mean, it could be both, but i don't really feel like there was an intentionally deep meaning there.
I think that's something of a stretch. Under pressure and panic, the mind finds a recent experience that will fit the parameters of the response required. Under less pressure and more time, the mind has an opportunity to invent something more original but not in the situation Harry was in at that moment.
Some facts out of many, many, many: 1) The movie events take place in 1991 (it is not directly stated in the books, but can be calculated). 2) While designing the Dursleys' house, the creators intentionally selected the ugliest furniture they could find - to increase the impression, so to say. 3) Pay attention to the street view before Uncle Vernon warns Harry about the "funny business". All the houses and cars look the same, because here, nothing weird is tolerated. 4) When Harry's scar hurts before the Sorting Ceremony, it's because Quirrell is standing with his back to him (and, correspondingly, Voldemort facing him despite being hidden). Also, when Hermione sets Snape's cloak on fire, it is clearly shown that Quirrell trips and falls, breaking the eye contact and therefore releasing Harry's broom. Ravenclaw here, by the way
Bit of trivia from the books that was not included in the movie. Professor Quirrell was not well respected, and the students were known to throw snowballs at the back of his head, meaning that Voldemort was constantly being pelted in the face.
That’s awesome. I have yet to read the books, though I kinda want to eventually. I love the thought of Lord Moldybutt getting pelted like that. Quirrell seems like a perfect fit for Voldemort, so I’m mildly pleased to hear nobody liked the little wretch.
She is like my favorite teachers: high expectations of all students but very fair and understanding of differences. The kind of teacher who pushes her students to be the best they can be, rather than trying to fit them in a mold. There is always kindness and respect behind the sternness.
I like her, but I think the point with the troll, were very little, a 50 point for the night stroll, are too much, in the books all Gryffindor is mad about them, and she didnt take serious to the trio in the first book, but she is a very strict but fair teacher most of the times, she care about the students,
I’m sure even more baffling for Harry is that everyone is treating him kindly/with respect. He’s so used to the Dursleys, that’s a huge change. The books add so much to the movies. Hermione, for example: she comes from a nonmagic family, and she was so excited to find out that she was a witch that she read all of her school books before going to Hogwarts. That’s why she knows all the answers to the questions.
It does take preferences into account which is why it frequently puts siblings in the same house but someone who does not want to be in that house will be put into another. Best example (besides Harry) is Sirius who was a Gryffindor even though his whole family were Slytherins. He already was not like his family and wanted to distance himself. The hat knew both.
@@hectorsmommy1717 especially if it is a hatstall (the hat not being able to form a decision on it's own for a period of time) it will factor in your decision more
They've talked about possibly casting Adam Driver in the series they're supposed to be making. I think he'd be very authentic to Rickman's portrayal so 🤞🏻😊
He's reacted to this before, possibly with his ex IIRC. I've noticed some reactors doing this now, pretending like they haven't already reacted to it (deleting the old videos, changing channel names etc.) just so they can loop back through all the "hit" movies that get good views.
I knew he's kinda familiar! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the brother of James in White Noise Reacts? I saw him when they all reacted to the Fantastic Beasts and it was mentioned that he already reacted to the HP series.
@@_Professor_Oak I remembererd this too! That's why I was really confused when he acted like he didn't know some major story plots?! I thought it was only his gf first time watching, not that he would act like he didn't watch it at all. Basically he deleted all his old HP reactions and he's pretending this is his first time watching, even if he didn't actually say that it's his first time...but he's surely *acting* like it is.😂 Pretty smart way to avoid backlash because he can simply say "I've never said it was MY first time". Pretty unecessary tbh because he's a good reactor and people would've loved these videos even if it was ONLY his gf first time watching.🤷♀ A bit disappointing... too bad.
At the end of this series, I can guarentee you will be officially a potterhead. At 72 I have watched these movies over & over again. And now I'm tackeling the books.
You have a great journey ahead. You'll find the books so much more detailed that you can understand better this fantastic, magical world. Good read. (I'm a little bit envyous of every first time reader)
You are going to LOVE the books! The movies are fantastic, I watched them long before reading the books as well. But the books bring a new magic to them! It’s such a satisfying deep dive into the Wizarding World we’ve come to love.
19:33 The book describes this in even MORE detail! The books are so fun to read *because* all the details of the magical world the author created. Based on mythology, Latin, legends... much easier to pick up with the written word. The films are good, but (necessarily) leave a lot out. If you enjoy reading, I highly recommend. I read them as they came out when my kids were growing up. Entertaining for all ages.
@@wandelndeslexikon1614 Ich hoffe es auch. Wir fliegen am Montag nach Schottland und das war eigentlich ein Geschenk aber die haben grad Probleme mit einer Erlaubnis die sie zum fahren brauchen. With the sorting hat, in the book it indicates that all that talking while it is deciding things is only heard in the mind of the person who it is being sorted. That is also how it sorts people - the hat is telepathic so it looks at the mind to see what sort of person they are and chooses a house that is best suited.
Just squealed “it’s here, it’s here, its here” I can’t believe I noticed this just as I was about to cook the kids their dinner! Coming straight up back after I’ve put them to bed to watch this! Can’t wait! Thank you!
@@usagi3093 I wouldn't say bad but definitely more aimed for teens/adults. Then again when they first appeared on an annual base their theme changed together with their audience so I guess it is understandable. Personally I prefer the books over the movies a lot too, but I can't read as fast as I can watch :D and the music theme used is beautiful
I can't recommend enough reading the books too. There's much more detail there and much more is happening. I've seen so many reactors often confused why or how some things happened in the movies..😅
Talk about confused!! LOL I didn't catch that you'd made a simple typo the first 4 times I read your comment! 😂 I was trying to figure out why the *rectors* (like vicars!) were confused about things in the movie. I'm still laughing at myself for taking so long to realize you meant *reactors* 😉😂
@@leslieoneal4464 😂😂🤭 I didn't even realize there's a letter missing. Fixed it. Thanks 😁 Edit:I had a good belly laugh reading your comment. Thanks for that too 😂
When I first heard of these books, they were just called “The Harry Potter books.” They were called that so often and predominantly that I assumed they were written by a man named Harry Potter.😊
My favourite piece of trivia about this movie is that for the Chess scene, they asked IM Jeremy Silman to construct a puzzle where Ron's move sequence genuinely led to checkmate, and he did. But more than that. He made a puzzle where there were 2 forces checkmate sequences. Ron didn't have to sacrifice himself. But the only other way to win would have sacrificed Harry. Ron not only chose to sacrifice himself so they could win the game, but he chose to sacrifice himself knowing that there was another way to win Unfortunately, the movie never gives you enough of a wide shot of the board for you to see any of this. But the puzzle is easy to find online. There are even youtube videos about it from chess channels
in case someone hasn't already told you this. David Bradley the actor portraying Argus Filch also plays Walder Frey in Game of Thrones. Richard Harris who plays Albus Dumbledore is the father of Jared Harris who plays Legasov in the Chernobyl series. So great acting runs in the family.
It’s somewhat funny and coincidental that I got notifications of Nick Reacts and Movie Munchies reacting to _Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone_ and a minute apart from each other.
@@nickreacts6394 Very interesting and that’s cool that you are acquainted with and good friends with Chi and Hella from Movie Munchies.😃 Personally I find it surprising and coincidental to see reactors upload reactions of the same movie either minutes to several hours apart from each other or a day later much like how Vkunia and REACT 2.0 released reactions of _The Lion King_ several hours apart.
The movie skips a bit about how the Hat chooses. In the book, there's a song it sings that explains the houses. Gryffindor prizes courage, Ravenclaw prizes intelligence, Hufflepuff prizes hard work and fairness, and Slytherin values ambition and cunning. Some kids are apparently easy to sort, others, it has to deliberate on. It was Gryffindor's hat to begin with.
Most of the shots of the scenic countryside in the Harry Potter movies is actually the Scottish Highlands. Scotland’s landscapes are glorious. The Harry Potter series is filmed almost entirely in the UK with the exception of a scene which was filmed in Ireland.
I love Harry Potter as it's the first book series I managed to read by myself after I learned how to read properly. It's always nice to watch people's reactions as they experience the movies for the first time ❤ so excited to watch you guys going through this series lol

Movies left out a big side story about Herminones teeth, she had huge teeth but since her dad's a dentist he didn't want her to fix it with magic, but malfoys cursed her and made her teeth way bigger, the school nurse fixed it and herminone told her just fix em all together

We bought our kids Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans when they came out with the film. These are the potential flavors in each box: banana, black pepper, blueberry, bogey, candy floss, cherry, cinnamon, dirt, earthworm, earwax (alas!), grass, green apple, marshmallow, rotten egg, sausage, lemon, soap, tutti-frutti, vomit and watermelon. Contents are randomly assorted and may not contain every flavor. We read all of the books as a family. Best memories for all of us. Now my eldest son is reading the series with our grandkids. I'm reliving it again through them.
No way!!! This is one of the most fun series to watch reactions of. As someone who grew up with the books AND movies, I’m so excited to go on this journey with you :D
I think the reason Hermione knows so much is because both of her parents are Muggles, or non magical people, so she feels like she has to work harder to prove herself. There are some at Hogwarts who believe that only those who come from purely magical parents should be allowed to practice magic or attend Hogwarts. Like Voldemort, or anybody in Slytherin.
Some truth, although being intelligent and well-researched, even a know-it-all, was her personality even before knowing about magic. In the movies she also was given a number of Ron’s lines, I’m not sure why. There’s a lot he knew simply by growing up in that world that she couldn’t have, and it made him look like an idiot, which he wasn’t, and her like she was a superhero, which she wasn’t. She often panicked under pressure and did things wrong, for example.
Hogwarts is the British school for wizards and witches and is located somewhere in Scotland. There’s also a French school called Beauxbatons and a North European school called Durmstrang. Their students visit in the 4th movie. Most other schools are only mentioned in background materials. Ilvermorny is the North American school that’s loosely modeled on Hogwarts in structure. It’s mentioned by name in the Fantastic Beasts prequels. Koldovstorets is the Russian school. Castelobruxo is the South American school located in Brazil (mentioned in one of the books but not in movies). Uagadou is the African school located in Uganda. And Mahoutokoro is the Japanese school
Apparently some of this was filmed in Oxford. I heard the dining room was based on Christ Church college's dining room, and some parts of the college outside architecture were based on Magdalen college's quads
Welcome to the HP experience guys, I hope you'll enjoy it, I'll be following you through this journey! A few points you should be aware of: 1. This is easily the most children's story-like, the most lighthearted. Firstly because it's meant to be our introduction to this world through Harry's eyes. Just like him, we arrive into the magical world as outsiders and we discover it at the same time with him. Also, because the main characters are 11. But as they grow, the story becomes much, much more serious and dark. It will deal with the most essential questions of life, death, love and power in an almost brutally honest way. 2. The movies never make it clear, but there's a lot more to magic than just a wand and a spell and having magical abilities. The character, intentions and mental focus of the witch or wizard matters a lot. 3. Yes, Voldemort can "read minds" - or at least that would be our muggle's way to put it. 4. Yes, this school is dangerous and it's supposed to be dangerous. Being magical means extra power, which means extra responsibilities. It's a whole different world with very different rules and norms. And when it comes to Harry himself - let's just say for now that there is a very good reason for everything. He should face some dangers and adversities. You'll understand why at some point. 5. There are rues to magic. It's not like anything is possible, that wouldn't yield a good story. Think of magic as an alternative physics with it's own laws and rules, possibilities and impossibilities. 6. You know that they built a great world when you watch it and you wish it really existed, even if you, as a muggle could never be part of it!
21:50 it finds what connects to you the most, weather you se it or not and fun fact is in the books it took the hat like 5 minutes to decide where Hermione should go(Gryffindor or Ravenclaw)
For the castle, the silhouette actually changed several times over the movies as they kept trying to make it more iconic. But they did take pieces of real architecture and piece them together to make it. And they actually used real historical sites to film the scenes in the classrooms and hallways!
You two are so great, i can see the excitement and enjoyment on your faces! It’s my fave movie franchise and book series, so happy to have found another reactor couple watching the series 😁 im subbed and looking forward to venture on this journey with you!!
How wonderful! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! Remember too that the amazing Alan Rickman was also in 'The January Man' (1989) with Kevin Kline and 'Sense and Sensibility' (1995) with Kate Winslet - greetings from Australia! Karen 🌷
Non-spoiler answers to your questions/comments made in the video: - I won't go into details because spoilers, you'll learn about it in a future movie, but Professor McGonagall's human form is her true form. - The majority of the events in the books and movies take place between 1991 and 1998. This movie specifically: the opening scene is 1st November 1981, and the rest of the movie takes place from June 1991 (Dudley's birthday is 23rd June) to June 1992. - "He can talk to animals?!" Just snakes, but yep! - Harry was born with his magic, like all magical children. That's why Uncle Vernon warned about there being no "funny business"; Harry has performed accidental magic all through his childhood, although he doesn't know it since the Dursleys never told him he was a wizard. He just thinks weird things keep happening around him, and that the Dursleys then blame him for it because they hate him. - The actor who played Uncle Vernon was Richard Griffiths. He was, indeed, a great actor. Sadly, he passed away back in 2013. - Ollivander was played by John Hurt, another great actor who sadly passed away a few years ago. There are actually quite a few actors from Harry Potter who have passed away - Richard Harris (Dumbledore in the first 2 movies), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Alan Rickman (Snape), and several others. - It's funny how Hagrid initially addresses Dudley as Harry, and Dudley replies "I- I'm not Harry," because Dudley's actor's name is Harry Melling. - Vernon is wrong, he won't have to pay for Harry to go to Hogwarts. Tuition is free and, even if it wasn't, Harry's name has been down since he was born and his parents would have either paid when he was still a baby or set the money aside for when it was time. - The movie doesn't touch on it, but in the book Dudley's tail was permanent and he had to have it surgically removed. - Lol, Ollivander doesn't mind that Harry's wrecking his shop. He'll probably just use magic to put everything right again. - Yes, lol, "codswallop" basically means bs, or nonsense. - There are no good or bad houses. Slytherin gets a bad rap because more Dark wizards have come out of that house than other houses, but that doesn't make them all bad/evil. Ron was relieved to go into Gryffindor because all of his brothers and his parents are/were in that house, and he didn't want to be the odd one out. But if you want to know the best house, it's Hufflepuff- no, I'm not biased because that's my house, why would you think that?! lol - Children are split into their houses based on what they value most. Gryffindors tend to be brave, chivalrous, and determined; Slytherins value cunning, resourcefulness, and ambition; Ravenclaws are usually intelligent, creative, and witty; and Hufflepuffs value hard work, loyalty, and fairness. - Malfoy knows how to fly because he was raised in a wizarding household. And, with a family as well-known and respected as the Malfoys, his parents would have taught him to fly at a young age so that he would already be proficient when he got to Hogwarts. As for Harry, his skill was just pure instinct. - Unlike Fluffy, the troll isn't meant to be in the school. Quirrell let it in to distract everyone while he went to try and get past Fluffy but, as he says at the end of the movie, Snape saw through the ruse and went there first to confront him. - Hagrid and Fang are respected by the creatures in the Forest, so students SHOULD be safe from anything in there as long as they're with them. But they didn't account for a) Fang running away, or b) the being they came across not being native to the Forest, and therefore not caring that Hagrid or Fang is present (especially since it was Voldemort who, even in his weakened and parasitic state, likely could have overpowered Hagrid if he wanted to by siccing Quirrell on him) - If Ron jumped off the horse, it would have been seen as them forfeiting the game and they would have lost. - The Stone really was destroyed. Flamel acknowledged that it was too dangerous to keep it in existence any longer. As Dumbledore said, the Flamels have enough of the Elixir of Life to sustain them until they get their affairs in order, but they will die eventually. - Noooo, Dumbledore didn't rig the House points, whatever do you mean? 😂 - Magical children under 17 have a spell on them known as the Trace. It allows the Ministry to sense if magic is being performed around them. As far as I know, it can't really be enforced if they live in a magical household since magic is always being performed; it must not be able to detect WHO is performing the magic, otherwise (I see you've watched Chamber of Secrets, so I know this won't be a spoiler for you) the Ministry wouldn't have mistaken Dobby's magic for Harry's.
Additionally, fan theories: - There's a theory that Dumbledore deliberately let Harry find the Mirror of Erised, so that Dumbledore could find out what kind of person Harry truly is. He gave him the cloak, knowing he'd probably use it to sneak around despite the "Use it well" note; he put the Mirror in a room Harry could get to, instead of keeping it in the place where the rest of the traps protecting the Stone were, despite the Stone already being in the Mirror; and he watched, invisible, while Harry visited the Mirror several times, observing him and not stopping him from using it until that final time. - Another fan theory is that Dumbledore wanted to test Harry (and, by extension, Ron and Hermione) on how well they can overcome obstacles, which he does with the obstacles under the trapdoor. If you think about it, NONE of the obstacles besides the Mirror were necessary. The Mirror makes it so that only someone with good intentions could get the Stone; if anyone with bad intentions tried another method like breaking the Mirror or using a spell on it, they still wouldn't get it. The theory goes that Dumbledore assumed Neville would also be part of their little group. First, Fluffy: Dumbledore knew Hagrid would let slip about things and they would figure out to use music to get past him. Neville is amazing with plants and Herbology, so he would have been perfect to help them face the Devil's Snare - thankfully, they figured it out themselves. Next, the key room: how convenient that there's an obstacle that Harry would be perfect to solve since he's a Seeker, so he could use his keen eyesight and broom skills to find and catch the correct key. Then, the chess board: Ron is well known as a great chess player, and here we have an obstacle perfect for him. There are two other obstacles we don't get to see in the movie. First, there is a room with a troll - huh, just like the troll the Trio faced that brought them together as friends; this is something they have experience fighting, making them perfect to face it. The troll is already out cold when they come across it, but they would have had no problems if they did have to fight it. And finally, the obstacle before the Mirror room - a room with some potions and a riddle. The riddle hints at which potion will allow you to continue through to the Mirror room, which ones will do nothing, which ones will poison you, and which ones will allow you to leave and go back the way you came. A riddle, perfect for Hermione's intelligence.
This series is a lot of fun with some great special effects. Since you liked this one I think you will like the rest. I think this couple is one of the best reactors, they are so cool together and always have great commentary.
Something you’d best be aware of. Catching the snitch is in fact NOT automatically an instant win for whichever team does such. It MERELY ends the game. While rare, it is ENTIRELY possible for a team to catch the snitch and still lose.
Hermione was the one who panicked in the devil’s snare plant, Ron literally had to remind her that she was a witch and could conjure light/warmth (her signature flames) whenever she wanted. It’s so frustrating how they gave a lot of Ron’s lines and information to Hermione, it really changed both characters somewhat. She wasn’t perfect and invincible, and he was way more knowledgeable than the movies make it seem.
As much as the author has fallen into controversy over recent years, these stories are still an absolute treasure to many of us. For children living in neglect and abuse, it made them feel seen and gave them hope. I hope you enjoy this series! It’s a wonder from beginning to end!
Yessss you're finally onboard this train. Gotta turn on notifications and all now to stay updated whenever you upload. It's gonna be hell of a ride. Also remember there are 8 movies and 1 reunion at the end of it. The reunion is the cherry on the top. P.S Thoroughly enjoying the reactions. Can't wait for the next.
25:32 If you pay attention to the scene you can see what Neville forgot. He’s the only kid at the table not wearing a robe. And watch Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s school tie. Hermione’s is always perfect, Ron’s is always loose, and Harry’s is somewhere in between.
The actor who is the wand maker is John Hurt, he was in the movie Alien and had the Alien come out his chest and repeated that scene in the parody film Spaceballs. He was also in the film 1984 where he was the one to fight big brother and then in the movie V for vergence where he was big brother.
I've liked Alan Rickman ever since I watched Die Hard and he was great in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner). He was also in Galaxy Quest and many other movies that I can't recall at the moment! I also loved his voicing of the robot in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!
Herminones parents are both dentist and both muggles so when her Hogwarts letter showed up its not mentioned but im willing to bet Dumbledore had to make a house call to deliver it just a random owl showing up probly wouldn't go over easy
The hat was from the founder of Harry's House: Godric Gryffindor. All House founders gave it part of their personality, so it could do the sorting in the Future, since they wouldn't live forever
It's also said in the books, that the hat takes your choice. Harry for example shows certain qualities of Slytherin, especially explained in later books, but He chose Gryffindor. Hermione had to chose between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw as well

So about the houses, each house represents a different virtue or trait. Gryffindor is bravery, Slytherin is ambition, Ravenclaw is intellect and creativity, Hufflepuff is kindness and compassion. And yes, they do have ways of enforcing the no magic outside of school rule, they have magic haha! It becomes relevant later on a few times.
Only the first 4 books were published when production started so Alan Rickman spoke with jkr on how to play him so she told him the ending and until the final book was published only alen and jkr the only people on the planet that knew the ending, and then when the books finally came out the entire world in unison said WTH no no no why no your lieing. 14:00 : "I think that actor looks familiar." Jphn Hurt, most known for being the guy that the little alien pops out of the chest from, in the 1979 classic 'Alien', starring Sigourney Weaver.
My theory on what would happen if the person looking into the mirror of erised wanted to see the future more than anything else: They would not see the future. They would see something that would indicate that they could see the future. Like them getting a divination award or something.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this movie. Your enjoyment of it was very refreshing. Can’t wait to see all the rest of your reactions to the series.
The reason most muggles don't see magic happening around them is sometimes attributed to protective spells having been places on objects or places so that regular none magical folks (muggles) can't see or notice them. For example, Hogwarts is a massive castle located in the highlands of Scotland. But when muggles come across it they only see old ancient empty castle ruins. If muggles find themselves getting too close to it then suddenly the muggles will start to think they have someplace important they have to go to that they previously forgotten about. In rare other cases when a muggle happens to witness magic by mistake, the local wizarding government called The Ministry of Magic will come and magically erase that particular memory from the muggle's mind. Certain cases are allowed only to a certain extent, like in the case of a wizard or witch having been born from a muggle family or is being raised by a muggle family like Harry and the Dursleys for example. But even then the wizarding child is not allowed to perform magic even in front of their muggle family even though their muggle family members know about their relative being born a witch or wizard and that they attend Hogwarts. The Wizarding communities consider it vital that their existence remain a secret for their protection incase for example muggles decide to bring back the witch trials and start burning wizards at the stake again among many other reasons as well. 🏰🪄
51:33 ... Actually throughout books , Snape keeps taking away points from Gryffindor for silly reasons and giving extra points to Slytherin! Thats the reason they are on Top. So Dumbledore gave last minute points to gryffindor

I think that's something of a stretch.
Under pressure and panic, the mind finds a recent experience that will fit the parameters of the response required. Under less pressure and more time, the mind has an opportunity to invent something more original but not in the situation Harry was in at that moment.
@@chris...9497 I agree, I just think he had to come up with a lie quickly and that was a believable thing to say.
@@j.woodbury412 More than that, Erised is desire as seen in a mirror.
Some facts out of many, many, many:
1) The movie events take place in 1991 (it is not directly stated in the books, but can be calculated).
Ravenclaw here, by the way
Yup, you’re soooo Ravenclaw 😅💙🤍
ur not a ravenclaw just because i re said a fact thqts been dtated a million times
@@user-jl9zx4cj6v I didn't say it was because of the facts. I said it just so
Bit of trivia from the books that was not included in the movie.
41:31 Professor Mcgonagal is the best adult in the series and no one can convince me otherwise.
She is like my favorite teachers: high expectations of all students but very fair and understanding of differences. The kind of teacher who pushes her students to be the best they can be, rather than trying to fit them in a mold. There is always kindness and respect behind the sternness.
I like her, but I think the point with the troll, were very little, a 50 point for the night stroll, are too much, in the books all Gryffindor is mad about them, and she didnt take serious to the trio in the first book, but she is a very strict but fair teacher most of the times, she care about the students,
thats not how you spell Hagrid
@MrWillsonx Hagrids 2nd for me, he puts the children in danger too often
@@Giveuponyourdreamsanddie2 i dont think the kids need Hagrid to put themselves in danger :D
The sorting hat looks into your thoughts and ambitions and talents to put you in the house closest to aligning with yourself.
@@hectorsmommy1717 especially if it is a hatstall (the hat not being able to form a decision on it's own for a period of time) it will factor in your decision more
Snape was acted by the be and only Alan Rickman. No one could play Snape better than him. RIP
They've talked about possibly casting Adam Driver in the series they're supposed to be making. I think he'd be very authentic to Rickman's portrayal so 🤞🏻😊
Fun fact, in the finale movie when vold confronts snape in the docks. Vold actor actually always felt intimidated by Alan rickman
Can't believe neither of you have watched this, thought it was a first time only for her. This is too good! So excited for the journey!
He's reacted to this before, possibly with his ex IIRC. I've noticed some reactors doing this now, pretending like they haven't already reacted to it (deleting the old videos, changing channel names etc.) just so they can loop back through all the "hit" movies that get good views.
@@_Professor_Oakno way i thought i was going crazy
Pretty unecessary tbh because he's a good reactor and people would've loved these videos even if it was ONLY his gf first time watching.🤷♀ A bit disappointing... too bad.
@@gaiasem5340I’m only halfway through so trying to give benefit of the doubt but maybe he just doesn’t want to give away anything to her ?
You described McGonagall perfectly strict but fair
At the end of this series, I can guarentee you will be officially a potterhead. At 72 I have watched these movies over & over again. And now I'm tackeling the books.
You have a great journey ahead.
You'll find the books so much more detailed that you can understand better this fantastic, magical world.
Good read.
(I'm a little bit envyous of every first time reader)
Oh that’s wonderful, the books are SO much better!!!
This, this is the best thing they can be told.
Your lives will never be the same again after finishing this movie series. I guarantee it.😍🤩

Filmed in Scotland. You can actually ride the same train there, it's quite nice and they announce during the ride all the Potter filming locations.
Parts of Hogwarts outside, like the flying lesson, was filmed at Alnwick Castle in Northumbria, England.
Some scenes in the first movie was also filmed in Oxford. In later movies they built the sets from scratch

With the sorting hat, in the book it indicates that all that talking while it is deciding things is only heard in the mind of the person who it is being sorted. That is also how it sorts people - the hat is telepathic so it looks at the mind to see what sort of person they are and chooses a house that is best suited.

Yes, yes, yesssssss! Such a stellar cast, too!
Ron not only chose to sacrifice himself so they could win the game, but he chose to sacrifice himself knowing that there was another way to win
Unfortunately, the movie never gives you enough of a wide shot of the board for you to see any of this.

A few points you should be aware of:
The actor who played Dudley Dursley - Harry Melling - is a very good actor now. I loved him as Edgar Allen Poe in The Pale Blue Eye.
The worst thing about the Potter universe is the depression you feel knowing that it's not real 😭
This was such a good reaction.
You two are a particularly good fit for these films.
See you for the next one 😁

Non-spoiler answers to your questions/comments made in the video:
- I won't go into details because spoilers, you'll learn about it in a future movie, but Professor McGonagall's human form is her true form.
But if you want to know the best house, it's Hufflepuff- no, I'm not biased because that's my house, why would you think that?! lol
- Children are split into their houses based on what they value most.
But they didn't account for a) Fang running away, or b) the being they came across not being native to the Forest, and therefore not caring that Hagrid or Fang is present (especially since it was Voldemort who, even in his weakened and parasitic state, likely could have overpowered Hagrid if he wanted to by siccing Quirrell on him)
- If Ron jumped off the horse, it would have been seen as them forfeiting the game and they would have lost.
- Magical children under 17 have a spell on them known as the Trace.
Additionally, fan theories:
- There's a theory that Dumbledore deliberately let Harry find the Mirror of Erised, so that Dumbledore could find out what kind of person Harry truly is.
Oh wow I didn't think there was anyone left that hasn't seen this, this is gonna be fun!

You guys will FALL IN LOVE with these movies! They’re all amazing! They only get better!❤❤❤❤

Yes, they talk about this in the books. Anytime there is a muggleborn they have to go in person and explain everything.
Hermione had to chose between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw as well
Welcome to the harry potter fandom nick!
Thank you!
@@nickreacts6394 hey Nick, I don't know if you've read in some of the other comments or not. But some of them are saying you reacted to Harry Potter already before you changed your channels name.
I also assumed you had seen this before. But it's been so long, I forgot.
But I was actually under the impression that you had seen it and your girlfriend was the one watching it for the first time.
I just thought you should know. And perhaps address this before it escalates and people lose trust in you telling the truth that you have not seen something before.
As for me, your one of my favorite reactors and I didn't mind if you've seen this before. I would of still enjoyed watching it with you and your girlfriend for her first time.
But I hope that the titles are clear and if you react to a movie you e already seen before and your girlfriend has not yet seen it before. Then I hope you will say it's your girlfriend's first reaction. And that you've seen this before and any future movies you watch.
That being said I enjoyed y'all's reaction and I think your girlfriend is adorable and I'm so happy she had an instant love for Harry's friends.
I only wanted two make sure you were aware of some of these comments so you could address them before they continue and get worse.
Since I can't say 100% that I remember you watching it before you changed the name of your channel, I'm staying out of it and won't say either way. But I just wanted to let you know cuz I don't want you to lose any followers.
Anyway, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll be tuning in to watch your other Harry Potter reactions. Especially friends. This has been a wonderful journey seeing you react to older shows and movies that came out when I was a kidnor teenager.
Gassspppp! The journey you are about to go on is a very special one! I loom forward to witnessing it!
I’m like two minutes in on the video but I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Y’all are just so cute to watch.
Shout out to voldermort nose it won't be returning but voldermort will
Great reaction! The train was filmed in Scotland, whilst the castle scenes were filmed in various places such as Alnwick castle and Durham Cathedral
Then they said unison OMG the whole time!

"I think that actor looks familiar."
Jphn Hurt, most known for being the guy that the little alien pops out of the chest from, in the 1979 classic 'Alien', starring Sigourney Weaver.
Welcome to an amazing ride. You're in for a vast array of emotion. Laughter, tears, panic, rage...
17:43 That’s the Jacobite Steam Train in Scotland. When it’s running you can take a 3 hour round trip. It’s a beautiful ride.
🏰🪄
They actually took lines that Ron said in the books and gave them Hermione. Ron isn’t as goofy in the books as they have him in the movies
51:33 ... Actually throughout books , Snape keeps taking away points from Gryffindor for silly reasons and giving extra points to Slytherin! Thats the reason they are on Top. So Dumbledore gave last minute points to gryffindor
"I shouldn't have told you that.".
So long ago I watched your brother fall in love with Harry Potter for the first time, and now you! Excited for this.
