As a Indian Caribbean I want to become a train conductor for the MTA in nyc but I’m going to college and going to learn about engineering which look pretty cool
Hope not that routine will burn you inside after sometime ... Your timing at work is very tiding and killing your whole day adventure ... By the way , why are you learning Dutch ?!... Are you planning to move later ?...
hi Anna I have a question, i am in Germany and I have an apportunity to work as chemical engineer, work with a mixer to do many Processes , is that improve my carrier as mechanical engineer? and thanks a lot
Hi! That depends on what goals you have for your career. The job sounds very interesting and like you will learn a lot, so if you're excited to learn more about chemical engineering, it could be a great way to build out your profile!
Its funny whem I see these videos about wakimg up at 7 or 6 am in the US as being terrible. Here in brazil the average worker in a big city wakes up at 5, 4 or even 3 am.
Your reality is not so different from mine. I live in Brazil. I am a mechanical engineer and I wake up ta 5:15 a.m., go out to my home at 5:45 am, and walk to a bus station. I travel to my work about 1 hour and start to work at 7:30 am. My lunch time is between 11:30 to 12:40 and I finish my work time at 17:30 pm. I catch a bus and arrive to my home at 18:45 pm.
Hi! Just discovered your channel and I think it's greaaaat! But on the side I see "Why you shouldn't become a Mechanical Engineer", kinda scary but I'm a graduating student already. Anyway, you got any tips for me as I am a mech engineer who aspires to work on airlines/aircrafts? I know I shoulda took aeronautical/aerospace engineering but I wanted to be in the Mech so I can be more versatile. Thank you in advance!
Haha no need to be scared of that video, you'll see :) My tip for breaking into a specialized industry with a general degree is to learn as much as you can about the industry and specifically the company you're applying to, to really show them that you're motivated and are willing to put in the work - and then mention it in your application. For example, read a few books (pick classics that everyone in the industry knows), watch a famous documentary or take a university class if you still can. And the other tip is to first of all apply to the kinds of companies you want to work at. Don't let it stop you from applying that your degree doesn't match 100%, they might not even care about it. Don't take the decision for them. If you don't try, your chances are zero. If you try, they're higher :)
I switched roles at my company which meant suddenly working at a different office. I love Stockholm, so I didn't want to move away from there. I also didn't want to move to a small town since I prefer the city 😅 But indeed, something had to change after a while (and it did as I shared in my recent life update)
Yes, Sweden is definitely colder and much darker in the winter. However, there is also a huge difference between the Southern and Northern parts of Sweden. Stockholm which is in the Southern part has a couple months of snow that comes and goes where temperatures move around the freezing point, some days are above and some are below. The Northern part (where I was working a lot) stays faaar below freezing for months and has probably 2-4 hours of sunlight less per day compared to the South.
Depression life in my opinion.
Are you working on solid state batteries?
I like that you show a realistic side of the job !
It's like a prison documentary wtf
😅
I think she could sleep at 10-11, and with that she will sleep 7-8hours. She get back at around
Bold of you to assume
Mechanical engineers get better treatment than prisoners
"never before scene footage" hahahah
what can I say, I like to keep things fresh :D
I have been a Mechanical Engineer Manager and enjoyed my job in Industry for 30+years😊

@@theannareich that's my goal and I hope it'll work! thank you so much engineer! 💯
Just out of curiosity, why do you live in a location where you have to commute 2 hrs a day? Are there no apartments closer to where you work?

Sounds stressful 🥲
@@theannareich Yes. But I love it 😀

Yeah I was taking the subway in winter 😅 although real Swedes do bike! I just can't do it when it's cold, slippery AND dark
