@@samnicole9803 Ironically, this is the best he has been in years despite his nose. He said that he won't fix his nose because of the drugs needed for surgery and that he isn't strong enough in his sobriety. The prison sentence looming over his head must have scared him straight.

Artie revealing his relapse had the potential to be radio gold. A good broadcaster would have nurtured this bit and it could have gotten opie a lot of views. Instead Opie almost brushed it off and didn't even pay close attention.

Imo, he lost his soul in 2006 after his long-time girlfriend left him and he started doing heroin every single day and gained 120 pounds in less than a year. He became a mean, angry, lying guy and you could see it in his eyes and his overall attitude. Something changed within him. Up until 2005 he would smile and laugh and had that sparkle in his eye and he spoke clearly and was lighthearted. That all changed starting in 2006 and it culminated in 2009 and then he tried to kill himself in 2010 and aged about 40 years and caused serious neurological damage to himself. He's been a walking zombie who can barely get through a sentence without stuttering, rubbing his skin and nodding off ever since he re-emerged in 2011.
Hes an asshole. Read Crash and Burn. Everybody wants to coddle him like hes some great guy who messed up. He seems like a dick to me.

After his Joe Rogan interview a few weeks ago I have so much respect for him. Hes been thru hell and back a couple hundred times and now he really wants to get his life together.
Helped me start to forgive my mom for her addiction and pain and stress shes caused me. After listening to Artie Lang be straight up about recovery and how he doesn't blame people like Howard Stern or myself...
I love this guy and want nothing but the best for him. Keep up the recovery Art!

Artie Lange is always off the wagon. Nobody will get him sober. I say this with sadness, but honestly surprised he's not dead. I glorified drugs and drug use in my youth, but as you get older and you see people in bad shape. It becomes much more of a sad thing more than a fun thing.
I say this as a former addict, nothing will get you to stop taking drugs till you are fed up. The cliche of "Sick and tired of being sick and tired" or "rock bottom" are real. Some people find it easier than others. Mine was like a light bulb, I got anxiety just thinking of what a loser I looked like and didn't want to be that guy anymore. Always look at yourself from an outside perspective. If you saw someone else doing it, what would you do, or say to them?

Be nice eileen. Its sad and know what you mean, but words hurt people. Try to be more understanding and friendly. Not to mention hes still alive and hes clean which is an amazing accomplishment after what hes been through.

Hope Artie can hold it together now that he’s been clean for a few months. It was painful to watch him tell these stories every few months and end them with “and I’ve been clean ever since” or “and * blank * saved my life” while clearly under the influence.

Heroin can do that. It can take someones abilities and potential and leave them with nothing, and usually lead them to death if it gets bad enough. Artie has been lucky. The real thing about Artie is that if you really paid attention to his life the women in his family love him unconditionally and he would do anything for them in spite of his flaws he wants a woman to be flawed but smart talented hardworking and understanding like his mother was to his father.His mother undying love and dedication for his father is what he wants but she is an amazing exception of what women are.He is never going to get it and if one of these therapists had the balls to be honest with him it might hurt for awhile but eventually he would get that the women he is killing himself over doesn’t exist
