Is there a significance of the mirrored, carpeted, corridor like runway in the history of Gucci? Ive noticed it alot in the 2000's shows in both womens and mens collections.
I think is something that Tom Ford started it when he designed for gucci, because if you see the shows of his brand( Tom Ford) you will the mirrors too
Ford started it and Facchinetti continued it. Which I think made her two season stint at Gucci very brief. She didn't "change" enough to make the brand her own. In many ways, this looks like a Ford collection (many beautiful pieces though).
Daria may have not the best (the most interesting) walk from the technical point of view, but it’s still elegant and somewhat sophisticated. What is the best thing about her is her attitude, it’s like she’s cool without even trying.
They never really gave Alessandra a fair chance. In all honestly what she was doing was exactly right for Gucci; they had a good formula set up but press criticized her so heavily for essentially following in the house codes made ultra relevant by Ford, they barely gave her two seasons to explore a new direction. Even so she was already changing fords aesthetic to something much ‘cooler’ and if she stayed longer there could have been greatness. There was such potential for this type of woman; the rock chic era of Gucci that I always feel Frida did horribly. Miss this era.
