"easy way to distract a baby, toddler or prechooler" watches at age 13 because glitter nah my mate suggested this for ADHD so I thought I'd give it a go. Great video btw!!
I'm getting ready to get my daycare certification and this videos have help me a ton knowing fun motor skills activities for my kids well not my kids lol
+Ashley Maree HAHA! That's fantastic. I'm so glad the videos are giving you inspiration. Good look on your certification.... thanks for leaving some comment love!
I practically live at the dollar tree because I'm there so often so I recognized those products right off! What a fun way to use them-love it! New subscriber!
i made one with a figi water bottle and corn syrup, beads and glitter. So first u fill up the figi bottle about 2/4 full with corn syup. then if u want food coloring in there u can put whatever color u like but just put 1 drop of food coloring. tHen after that i put different types of sequins, glitter, and beads.Next ihot glued the cap on so the cornsyrup mix wouldnt leak, then took of the label on the ater bottle. also dont forget to drink the water
What could be fun too is you could decorate the tops before gluing them onto the actual bottle to match what is inside, like coating the glitter one in the glitter, or painting them with different color spray paint so they are easy to tell apart when looking down at the nifty caddy. :)
I was like NO WAY when you held the magnet wand to the bottle! great tutorial thank you! btw, what is the glycerin water for? so the glitters etc wont stick together? thanks!
I will use tonic water so my bottles will glow and glow in the dark beedes and tonic water in all of them cause I just 💘 things that glow and ✨ sparkles
I don't think so.... oil is a bit different in density. I put a link to in in the description box if you'd like to buy it off amazon. If not, I'd check the baking sections of the grocery store. It's pretty common for baking.
Will the contents of the bottles mold over time? Or does the glycerin keep that from happening? You could also use wax in the bottle (GLASS) and put it on one of those low temp, USB powered cup warmers....voila, instant lava lamp! (Minus the lamp part)
I would LOVE to use the voss bottles! BUT! My kids chew/throw our bottles (we use Naked and the nesquick(?) bottles for our sensory) and I tested this one bottle that has the same top like the voss and it busted. But we like the bottles we use anyway.
Great vid and ideas. This may sound so dumb but im new to this, after searching for glycerine on ebay im getting results saying vegetable glycerine, is that right?
Another thing you can do is if you are not giving it to a toddler or child is to use jam jars and other jars. They are glass so you do have to be careful but that way you are reusing things. Or you could just use plastic bottles but I find those too crinkly.
I guess I was expecting them to be more like the ones that look like the ocean waves rolling and I don’t know if that’s oil in those or the glycerin there were too many things in the bottles to tell if they did that sea like thing
I want to make lamp bases out of these with the glitter for my living from. If I put a lot of glycerin in will that keep the glitter from settling? I want the glittery movemen in water effect, but I don't want to have to be shaking my lamps all the time...or ever actually! What is the glycerin to water ratio that I should use in order for no settling to occur?
Hmm, that would be a ton of hair gel, but I guess that's what the 99 cent store is for...lol! I will try a smaller version of that idea first (before I do a lamp base) and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
Where would one get distilled water from? Is it from a hardware store or something like that? I have no idea what distilled water is used for or what it even is! lol
I wish I could get Orbeez, here!! Those things are sooo cool!! Have you seen that video, a while ago, some guy filled his pool with them!! It looked AMAZING & so fun for his kids!! 💛
I thought you were going to put some of the things ON the bottles. Like a couple of strips of pipe cleaner, a couple of small beads, a couple of fish tank beads and glitter. I must not understand the concept. I thought a sensory jar was for a variety of sensation.

nah my mate suggested this for ADHD so I thought I'd give it a go.
Great video btw!!
Nina Noo I'm 13 too and imma try this for panic attacks
I'm 37 and watching it 😅
I’m 33. I’ve made one for myself and friends. We all love them.
I’m 35 and watching this video for my son
Me to! I am gonna makelen for my ADHD!
Great idea! I am a special education teacher and this works wonders.
So great that you add different materials to the bottles. These bottles look so great to explore and play with.
I have autism an love these going to try an make some as one of my sensory sticks broke this summer
Stefanie Sacks That's great. They are a lot of fun to make.
💜
"easy way to distract a baby, toddler or preschooler" nope, nope. i'm using this for myself hahahaha
+Aprille Therese LOL!
That's me . Literally what I said !!
Same thing I said
Aprille Therese same
Harper Burgess yep
This really helped my severely autistic son he is now a lot calmer and finds life a lot easier to handle

Lexy Berry Hi! Thanks for subscribing! Hope you find my channel inspirational for your house.
These are so cool! I’m going to make some for my daughter, she has ADHD and I think that she would love these! 💖
I like water and baby oil, no glitter or anything. The oil separates from the water and looks really nice 🙂
Oh that's a great combo! Awesome suggestion.
The Purple Alphabet thank you!
I use baby oil. Not water. I like a slower fall. Yes Giving to coworkers is a great idea😜
How much baby oil ? Do you also add water ?
Do you add any water to the baby oil? Or how do you make yours?

Your sensory bottles are great! Very colourful and fun!
Suzanne Schlechte Thank you so much! My little ones love them. I think I need to make a set for the preschool too.
We love sensory bottles! Thanks for the ideas!
If you want it to be thicker then clear glue can also be added. I’m thinking of trying out oorbees but I’m not sure if they’ll be visible enough.
"Empty the water out & rinse them & wash them, if you'd like..."
OR you could *drink the water* then wash them?
Just an idea.
Ok. I see now, you did drink it! lol
My apologies. ✌
I like the Stars & Glitter Alphabet ones 💛✨
Awesome 👏 Thank you. This is exactly what I need right now. Bless you
Great ideas. My favorite one is the star one.
Thank you! 😊
Great video!! Great explanations, well thought out. Linking to this in the description of my video on calming bottles!
+How to ADHD Thank you for stopping by to check it out!
No prob! Mine's up now too :)
Hey I came from your channel
@@ThePurpleAlphabet 9.
so fun! I love the idea of the pipe cleaners with the magnet!
That's my 4 year olds favorite!
i made one with a figi water bottle and corn syrup, beads and glitter. 2/4 full? Do you mean one half full?
I couldn't find a magnetic wand (for the pipe cleaner bottle), so I made one. I simply glued a magnet onto a popsicle stick, and it works pretty good
This is a great idea! And I like how neat they came out
Do it on a dime sent me 😄 great ideas! I have to say, the pipe cleaner one was my favorite too
Jen L Hi! Thank you for checking me out... I can't believe she gave me such a nice shout out. My kids love the pipe cleaner one too. :)
This is so awesome!!! Thank you!
What could be fun too is you could decorate the tops before gluing them onto the actual bottle to match what is inside, like coating the glitter one in the glitter, or painting them with different color spray paint so they are easy to tell apart when looking down at the nifty caddy. :)
That's a good idea, but only if the child no longer puts things in their mouths. Otherwise they might poison themselves eating up paint. :)
That would be fun for older kids!
Very good point.
oh my goodness these are adorable!! Great idea Can't wait to try
twenty2eight Have fun! There are so many variations you can do.
Love this for my 7 month old baby girl! I just subscribed to your channel ,Thank You for all the fun and creative activities 😊❤️👍💯
Awesome! Thank you!
@@ThePurpleAlphabet You're welcome 😊

Newatcrafts YAY!!!! So glad you dropped by. Thank you so, so, so much!
Hi! Do it on a Dime sent me to, so many great ideas! I wish you the best of luck and I will not miss another video from you!
Pia Karlson Aw, thank you so much! I'm so happy you have found me. I hope you like the videos.
My little one is into throwing things. I am worried he is going to smash a glass bottle. Do you ever worry about this?
I use plastic Voss bottles
I didn't even know where were plastic ones!
Yup! :) Found mine at Target.
we dont have a local target, hope I can find them at walmart.
Sending you good luck! I think there might be an amazon link in the description box too.
I use a bit of clear glue instead of glycerin... just mix it well with the water
Thanks for the tip!
So cute I found your channel from Katherine on do it on a dime!
Robin Cowan Hi there! Glad you find me. Isn't Katherine THE BEST EVER?!?!?
Thank you for sharing I will def use this with my students
Great!
Do you think baby oil would work instead of the glycerin? I haven't been able to find glycerin yet.
I don't think so.... oil is a bit different in density. I put a link to in in the description box if you'd like to buy it off amazon. If not, I'd check the baking sections of the grocery store. It's pretty common for baking.
Great idea I would love to make these.
Fun!
do you think adding baby oil instead of the glycerin would work????
Is there a substitute for the glycerin drops?
Would Karo Syrup be an okay substitute for Glycerin? Trying this with my students!
Will the contents of the bottles mold over time? Or does the glycerin keep that from happening? You could also use wax in the bottle (GLASS) and put it on one of those low temp, USB powered cup warmers....voila, instant lava lamp! (Minus the lamp part)
The glycerin is to help the glitter from sticking.
Hi I live in Adeliade I'm after the bottles were did you get yours from
This is amazing . I loved it . I just have a question , how long is it safe and we can keep these sensory bottles ?
If you use distilled water, they should last a while!
So cool
Hi there! What wonderful resources you have put together! Great channel. P.S. DoItOnADime sent me here :-)
fibromighty Yay! Glad you found me. DoItOnADime is amazing, don't you think?! Thank you for the comments, I love comments!!
I would LOVE to use the voss bottles! BUT! My kids chew/throw our bottles (we use Naked and the nesquick(?) bottles for our sensory) and I tested this one bottle that has the same top like the voss and it busted.
But we like the bottles we use anyway.
OH no! That stinks. Yeah, for sure use the ones that work for your family! Those are great options too!!
I added the glycerin as you said but most of the glitter settles at the top?
I just use water bottles because I’m broke-
And I’m defiantly using this for myself not a child or preschooler-
I love these.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
Great vid and ideas. This may sound so dumb but im new to this, after searching for glycerine on ebay im getting results saying vegetable glycerine, is that right?
666keller666 Thank you and good question. I bought this one amzn.to/1HtZRHd (not an affiliate link).
Yes! That's correct!
Another thing you can do is if you are not giving it to a toddler or child is to use jam jars and other jars. They are glass so you do have to be careful but that way you are reusing things. Or you could just use plastic bottles but I find those too crinkly.
What age would you say you can start these with?
+Lisa MarieTTC I started early, around six months.... They love watching them. Just make sure to supervise too and make sure the bottles are secure.
How do you get the stickiness off the Voss bottle after peeling off the label? My bottles are super sticky.
Try goo gone!
im so inlove with sensory bottles. but, idk if what is actual use of it. where or when do u use it?
kids. to calm then down.. or adults!
+Bebe Shybug oh.. thank you!!! maybe i need this to calm myself haha.
+Bluish Yellow Banana It is also great for developing sensory aspects... like seeing, hearing.... etc. Often used in therapy too. And they are fun!
+The Purple Alphabet yes!!
I think these also would be good for autistic ppl
Would acrylic glitter stars/hearts work in this?
Probably!
THANK YOU💜
I guess I was expecting them to be more like the ones that look like the ocean waves rolling
and I don’t know if that’s oil in those or the glycerin
there were too many things in the bottles to tell if they did that sea like thing
Those have oil.
I like to use light corn syrup. (Karo syrup)
Where can you find liquid glycerin? because I tried to look for it in target but I couldn’t find it
I think there is a link in the description.
+blackbeauty0912 No, I'm sorry... The glycerin is to help the glitter from sticking together. It will still settle at the bottom.
+The Purple Alphabet ...hmm that sucks. I wonder if it would work with glycerin and a little bit of unflavored gelatin...
+blackbeauty0912 what about clear hair gel?
Hmm, that would be a ton of hair gel, but I guess that's what the 99 cent store is for...lol! I will try a smaller version of that idea first (before I do a lamp base) and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
The red one is cool
Glycerin is like honey without the stickiness
I just have a question do you have to use distilled water???? or can you use any type of water?
Yes, because it last longer. :)
Where would one get distilled water from? Is it from a hardware store or something like that? I have no idea what distilled water is used for or what it even is! lol
Also what is glycerin and where do I get THAT from?? lol I'm in Melbourne Australia, by the way. :-) Hi !!
It is usually used in baking. You can find it at the grocery store or in the link in the description box.
Why does toddler love the sensory bottle and why they help the toddlers?
What would happened if you didn't use the glycerin
You can make dried pasta sensory bottles
do you think adding baby oil instead of the glycerin would work???? j
yes
tap water works fine too.
It does! And it is cheaper... depending on where you live, it might be cloudy. Some cities have different water sources.
Super
Can we honestly put water on there instead?
Yes. Depending on the type of water (hard or soft) yours might end up cloudy, but it works just the same.
The Purple Alphabet thx just wanted to know
i like to put orbeez in mine
That's a great idea!
Me too
Chloe The Dog Awesome!

Wear do you get the gliciline from
There is a link in the description box
Why use distilled water? What makes a difference?
It prevents yellowing and bacteria growth
how much £ is the all bottle pack
Cheaper version, use dollar tree clear hair gel.
Great thinking!
Michael's has bottles for $1.00 they are really nice :)
Yay! Thank you so much for the tip!
What is GLyscertin drops? Unless it's Eye- Drops.....???
Hi! There is a link to it in the description box... They aren't eye drops, it is used in baking.
can you use a jar

what about water beads?
FABULOUS idea!

Target

you could use glue and water too it's easier

metal one does not work
Hmm... I'm sorry it didn't work for you.

I would not put in glass only because my granddaughter that has autism will throw it so plastic is better
This is like fake witchcraft. Just do a spell jar.
