I’ve never heard of artist conks before! They turned out really nice with your artwork on them, what a cool idea to do.
I’m not sure where else they grow but we really had to hunt for them! And that is so kind thank you!

how long do they last?
Some we made when we were kids we have had for over a decade, so it really depends on how they are stored. Just can't let them get too damp or too dry 😬
