Karl Svennson - was 6 '2 tall, but when he jumped, he jumped 5'7 .
    Letizi - Couldn't catch the cold .
Sebo- became a cult hero, why, because he was that bad & that's the truth, we pitied him .
Jeremy Clement & Papac were the only shining lights in le Guens signings.
Paul le Guen- thought he would have skooshed Scottish Fitbit, Ignorant & arrogant regarding our game, he honestly thought he was bigger than our club, he wasn't & he had to go 🇬🇧

I remember going to Ibrox when we played FK Zeta and half time was comedy gold. Sebo came out to warm up and the crowd cheered his every move, mockingly whilst cheering Sebo over and over. Me and my mate I was at the game with were in stitches at some of the banter flying about. He was mince but he was a likeable lad. He started strutting with the ball a bit like he actually thought he was a superstar with the crowd and he was clapping back and taking the applause at the half time warm up. You could see he thought he was the dogs bollocks. Instead he was just bollocks, and became a fan favourite for the banter.

Spoke to Karl Svensson a few times when he had just retired. Injuries really killed his career and he said his mental health took a big hit when getting injured again back in France and from that on he never kicked on. He was continiously more afraid of getting injured and doubting himself.
On his time at the famous he said there was no harmony in the squad from the go aswell as he felt PLG never had the trust of the guy upstairs. Also he didn’t rate Walter as a manager regarding man managment. Then I told him to eff of

Bit harsh on Letizi (Let eats ay)
PSG weren’t the rich superpower back then like they are now so getting players from them wasn’t as big of a deal.
They were like the inter Milan of France, decent history, make a run every few years but not the best team in their league.
He was 2nd or 3rd choice French keeper behind Barthez so it was a reasonable coup to get him
He had a few blunders in him but the defence was fkn atrocious with Karl Svensson particularly being a bombscare. When Smith came in he immediately punted the CBs and brought in Weir and Ehiogu to shore up the back
Anyway IIRC Letizi got injured early in the season and McGregor came in and did well when it looked like he was going nowhere with us. Letizi got back to fitness and went back into the team but had a couple howlers, between that and fan pressure Le Guen put McGregor back in shortly before leaving.
Smith came in and kept McGregor as his number 1 punting Letizi immediately back to France
Overall don’t think he was that bad, had a shocker of a defence in front of him, got injured and lost his place to McGregor

Le Guen came with all this hype over his own fitness and standards because he did the Sahara foot race. I would rather have been sent to do the Sahara foot race than suffer watching a Le Guen Rangers team. Gavin Rae, was put in a tough spot, but man he was never a Rangers captain. That was just a move to put Barry in his place in Le Guens eyes. I think that move against Barry lost him the dressing room. As for Lovenkrands I loved the guy. Apparently he asked Le Guen if he was wanting him to stay and Le Guen told him he wasn't bothered. Which factored into Lovenkrands leaving. Which he later admitted to regretting. A total shame really. Le Guen was a giant A hole.

I honestly thought Libor Sionko was going to be our best signing that season. I also thought Paul Le Guen was going to be a massive manager for us. We actually waltzed through our uefa cup group with relative ease tbh (PLG being the first manager of a Scottish team to beat an Italian team in Italy, do we care that it was Livorno? Probably not!) but domestically we were an absolute basket case. PLG’s time before and after Ibrox was stark. I think we broke him. 🫣 as for Sasa Papac? Legend. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    • @stevensmith4896
      @stevensmith4896 Год назад

Just as an aside, Walter and Ally’s team faced Osasuna in the knockout stages. The result (along with the weather at Ibrox) wasn’t great. We did however manage to buy a guy from Osasuna that we had for, in my opinion not long enough. None other than Carlos Cuellar! Would we have got him through regular scouting? Not so sure.
