I don’t rate Dessers, Lammers or Danilo. I’d be quite happy to see the back of the three of these players. I just can’t see what Beale saw in these guys, especially Lammers. Incredible to think that Clemente managed to get us silverware, a last 16 Europa spot and clawed the points back in the league to haul us back into a race I thought we’d lost. So the best signing of the season is the big Belgian magician.
Danilo will come good when he's fully fit and has a run of games under his belt, saw enough to know the ability he's got, the other 2 are hopeless, can't believe we sold Colak and put Hagi and Lowry out on loan to accommodate them

I remember the rumours of Dessers and Lammers doing the rounds in late May/early June. Immediately, I went to check their playstyle and stats. The red flags were there from the start and we know why we were all sceptical back then.

sometimes we need to give player s time. its hard for some player to instantly make an impression like Raskin & Cantwell. just look at fans who thought McCoist, Moore, Rickson & Lunstram were duds. But Injuries and playing out of position can hamper a new signing. I doubt Dessers & Lammers will prove to be astute signings but i do know that constantly trashing them will not help. Look at wee Ridvan. until 2 weeks ago we all would have said he was not working out - but this is the first time he has played 4 games in a row - and he is starting to look like he could be a wee GEM. I would be gutted if we swap him for someone we dont know will fit in, jiust as he is starting to come really good. Ridvan could be our next Calvin Bassey given how they are so alike in build & looks! ALL I want is a couple of proven GOAL SCORERS. anything else can probably wait til the Summer window.
@@ZanderFoulner could see the player Ridvan was at the tail-end of last season when he started getting a game then folk started getting on his case due to a few defensive errors in pre-season friendlies then he got that unfortunate injury after scoring the screamer, anyone who can't see he's miles ahead of Barisic in almost every department doesn't know football, plus he's only 22 compared to 31 year old Barisic, last OF was the quietest I've ever seen Maeda, if not for that mix-up that resulted in Balogun's red you wouldn't even have known he was playing, where normally in OFs Barisic just ball watches until his man knocks one in at the back-post...

So Bayern now value Tilman as more than 15m as thats what psv were willing to pay. @@Buu... Yep those comments about the Old Firm games were a joke. He scored in goals in the Champions League qualifiers and even assisted the away goal for Colak that got us through. He would score/assist vs most of the league, which is just as important as OF matches cos you gotta win against the small teams too. I do agree that he didn't play to his full potential against Celtic, but it was his first full season as a pro footballer getting regular game time. Anyways, doesn't matter now though does it haha.
what we spent on Lammers & Cyril "goal disallowed" Dessers would maybe secure Sima as a permanent signing. But we still need a really good striker or even just a poacher who knows how to find the net. AND knows what the OFF-SIDE RULE IS.

I agree with the Sterling Bassey comparison. Big strong, fast, can tackle, can pass. Looks a complete player. We just need to get him a run of games and establish him as a first pick

Brilliant assessment on the players agree with you on sifu but think Danilo is a hit with me a very determined player to get the ball whereas dessers you have to look at his goals most scored through deflections and not including when he was in our own box caused two goals for the opposition him and lammers send shivers down my back.
Im still hoping for cifuentes to come good there's definitely a player in there. If dessers was our striker on the bench i wouldn't mind but not as our main striker. For me lammers is the one that is a disaster and we must get him out now hopefully someone in the Dutch league will want him
Agree with you on Lammers. But I'd also say Cyriel Dessers has been one of the worst players I've ever watched at Rangers. Not saying technically the worst, but in terms of watching as a fan, its brutal. One of the least exciting players I've ever seen play for us to be honest.
I feel I need to correct you CJ. Describing some of our summer signings as ‘miss’ is too kind. They are mince…. If we manage to get a 20+ goals a season striker signed (dare I say Shankland), Danilo and Dessers won’t get another game (hopefully). Lammers just simply embarrassing. Justin Bieber (Cantwell) also needs to start giving us more because if Silva is as good as we’re lead to believe, then Bieber could quite easily find himself out the team
Butland definitely our signing of the season. Balogun continuing where he left off however it does show us how underwhelming Davies and Souttar have been. Sterling has been great since he got his chance and long may that continue. still got hope that Cifu can turn it around. Dowell has been solid under clement just hope he can stay fit. Sima has been the best outfield player out of the lot. Danilo whenever he has played has been good he has been in our recent games as i feel we play better with him than with Dessers, as for Dessers I don't he has been as bad as people say but for that price tag and in certain games he is not good enough and finally Lammers to put it bluntly the worst summer signing Dessers has at least had came up with some impressive performances. I do actually feel sorry for him, it must not be easy failing again and again I do hope when he does leave he finds a club where he can finally settle and show what he can bring.
Sterling deserves his chance at right back, with Tav moving into right side midfield where his attacking prowess is best utilised. Hopefully, Fabio Silva will score a dozen or so goals in the second half of the season.
Think sterling likely dot around midfield and full back in this early stage of his career but for me has all attributes for a top centre half in time. Lightning quick, strong, reads the game well, can distribute the ball, good in the air, brave and shows leadership qualities on the pitch.

I want Shankland at the club, have done for 5 years but we seem to pass over him every transfer window. People saying they wouldnt pay Hearts more than £2m. We spent around £14m on Danilo, Lammers and Dessers and combined they dont have as many league goal as Shankland. Terrible Summer for us. What was Beale thinking?

The club have basically made a complete mess of the big money recruitment, not just this season, but the last few years. Money has been consistently wasted on gambles that haven't paid off. If you take the free agent signings we've made out of the equation, how many players have we actually gotten value for money out of that we've paid for? It's been flop after flop after flop, even going back to when Gerrard was there the warning signs were there when we wasted money on Jack Simpson and Juninho Bacuna. There has been something seriously, seriously wrong with Rangers' recruitment department for a number of years. It seems now that they have finally acknowledged it with Koppen coming in and seemingly changing things up with the scouting department. Simply put though, it's unsustainable to be bringing players in for big money and selling them for less money. If we're honest, Rangers got lucky with Bassey and Patterson as well. Lewis Mayo was allowed to leave on a free to Killie and has been a stand out. Doig, Ferguson and Shankland have all been available and affordable, and we've turned our nose up at them. Rangers need to start looking at players who are going to guarantee value for money.
Yet another late watch reply to this vid as well CJ, but i want to add one other important point to the 9 summer signings, and its about Raskin and Cantwell. We'll probably never really get to know the truth about both players, but given Beale's utter incompetence, I firmly believe that both players were probably first identified by Stevie G and not his useless sidekick. He was the manager and decicion maker on recruitment supported by Mark Allen and Ross Wilson, Beale would have had little or nae say at all on these decisions. I would even go as far as also crediting the decent signings to Gerrard, like Big Jack (former England number 2 after all), and also Sterling, and definitely with Balogan. Does any Rangers supporter really believe Beale would ever have the integrity to admit that Gerrard is the manager who should be given the credit for spotting top talent. Beale has made one huge clusterfcuk of every decision as manager, I believe even to the point of at the end deliberately trying to damage our great club once he knew he was found out as a complete fcukup and waste of time as a manager...Ridvan and Balogan not on europa list, Hagi loaned with no possibility of recall even though by then Beale knew he'd been found out as shite by the supporters. I think Sunderland fans are very quickly coming to these same realisations as he's been shite there too, ans still full of the same bullshit. Thats my honest opinion! Another one or two moves and he'll be down to non league and then kiddies fitbaw, where he truly belongs, though I'll feel very sorry for ANY kiddies with that clown as manager!!
Really hope that was the last disastrous transfer window we had with Beale in the summer for a long long time or hopefully forever. I agree with most of your ratings of the summer signings CJ, however when it comes to Dowel and Danilo i have to say that I'm sitting on the fence with both. As you say, under a better manager things might improve for both. Dowell is starting to look like a player BUT hopefully he has more to offer. The jury is out on Danilo. At the start we were all baffled that beale was playing Sima, Dessers and even Lammers in front of him but once he did get his chance he seemed to grab it with both hands and we all thought "now this guy is going to do great things for us" then he got his injury, then came back and started to miss absolute SITTERS. Having said that, due to his run of injuries*, i think we have to wait and judge him once he is back to full fitness and had s decent run of games. *what is it with our club and injuries??? Is it our style of training? Is it our medical staff? Or is it something else? Maybe we just go back to taking them down to Gullane sands and making them run up and down the dunes all day long..... who knows!!! Surely our horrendous run of injuries has to end at some point because it seems that the run of injuries has been going on for YEARS.

Rangers need to play with two up front bring back the old 442 or 352 as one striker is no good for a big club! We go to watch a team score goals not defend them! That’s why you pay big money on them. I’ve agreed with all you’ve said but some players need time not all can hit it off right away. If not but then you get decent money when you prove yourself!
I was desperate for big Sammie to succeed and turn it round. Its just not gony happen is it? Nae product at all on the ball. I've never seen a guy who runs about so much and does nothing. I think Danilo will eventually come good. Dessers has some ability but appears to be lacking composure, something missing with the mentality. Rest are now contributing, but Super Jack is hands down the best signing of the lot.

The way you feel about dessers is the way I feel about lammers and vise versa! dessers up front has made every single one if our midfielders look bang average because he is a total struggle to get anything out of. Absolutely no outball or help from up front and the pressure gets piled onto players like lammers. Will I be gutted to see him go? Probably not. But he can do so much better. I can see it in him.
this half season would have to go down as one of the worst weve had taking all into account. Europa league excepted we are very lucky the rest of the teams in the SPL are really crap otherwise we would be further behind celtic than we are now. Leaving aside Dessers going missing in big games and looking like an amateur footballer a lot of the time, a majority of his goals have either deflected in or have hit him on the arse and gone in.
It is about time some supporters stopped slagging off Rangers players. It is natural for players to lose form for whatever reason, I am sure it is not deliberate. The boss knows his players better than anyone else, & he will sort out the ones that don't fit in his plans. Not withstanding that, when you put dreadful posts about any player, you not only can unsettle players but you do a great disservice to the club, & the players future sell on price.
Mate people pay a lot of money to follow Rangers, home & away, or even armchair fans, buys merchandise, tops, pay per view, if players can't handle criticism, you can't play for Rangers FACT 🇬🇧

Buland, sima, and Sterling have been great signing. Danillo there is definitely a good player in there, just been really unlucky with injuries. Dessers, lammers and Cifentes are no good. Wasted about £8.5 mill.
Danilo needs to up it big time, before his injury, he was non existent for 3 games, hate to say it, but looks like a million pound player, rather than a 6 million pound player, really hope he's got more in his locker 🙏🇬🇧

Butland- Hit Sterling- Hit (at CM 🤣) Sima- Hit (after a very poor start and only on loan) Dowell- looks like a Hit but not seen enough of him yet Balogun- Hit, although poor in recent OF, know exactly what you'll get from him but is getting on a bit age-wise Cifuentes- 50/50 for me, looks very poor at times but also looks brilliant at other times, similar to Dowell, not seen enough Danilo- 50/50 again, bad misses at times and quite light-weight and injury prone but definitely has ability, needs a run of games to see the best of him Dessers- 100% Miss (unforgivable selling our joint top-scorer from last season in Colak and spending money on this fraud) Lammers- 100% Miss (unforgivable papping Hagi and Lowry on loan in favour of this fraud) More concerned that there are a few already in the squad who are big misses and have been for years, Barisic comes to mind straight away, Scott Wright too, Roofe and Jack also with their injury records, brilliant players but never available when we need them and on big wages.

Sam lammers sums up Mick Beale saw him as a boy. He should maybe have went and Watched him before he wasted Rangers money I really don't know when Beale actually saw dessers and lammers. But they must have been about 12 the way he sold them to us
Butland, Balogun and Sterling are the only ones for me. I think if Sima was played as a striker he would be on that list as the lad pops up in amazing positions and looks natural finishing, also a physical presence... however out wide i just dont think he has it

lammers has really let himself down and cost me a score as i bet that he would have at least 15 goals contributions this season and an auld firm goal. Absolutely convinced hed do the business. I still think thers a real player in ther but something has massively gone wrong for him over the last few years. He's had more than enough game time this season to show us what hes about and he hasnt come close to what we need from a player in his position. Very poor. A loan till end of season and then get rid unless he rips up trees which he wont.

Wasted so much that I'm not up for paying Hearts over 1 million for Shankland, he's 28 we'll never recoup the fee or wages, if we are gonna fork out millions I'd rather use that money on better quality players wages...
He might be 28 but he knows where the net is and I think we'd definitely win the league with his goals as he'd score a lot more for us given the fact he'd get more chances. Reaching the champions league would pay for itself so not a risk IMO

I remember the rumours of Dessers and Lammers doing the rounds in late May/early June. Immediately, I went to check their playstyle and stats. The red flags were there from the start and we know why we were all sceptical back then.

sometimes we need to give player s time. its hard for some player to instantly make an impression like Raskin & Cantwell. just look at fans who thought McCoist, Moore, Rickson & Lunstram were duds. But Injuries and playing out of position can hamper a new signing.
I doubt Dessers & Lammers will prove to be astute signings but i do know that constantly trashing them will not help. Look at wee Ridvan. until 2 weeks ago we all would have said he was not working out - but this is the first time he has played 4 games in a row - and he is starting to look like he could be a wee GEM. I would be gutted if we swap him for someone we dont know will fit in, jiust as he is starting to come really good. Ridvan could be our next Calvin Bassey given how they are so alike in build & looks!

@@ZanderFoulner could see the player Ridvan was at the tail-end of last season when he started getting a game then folk started getting on his case due to a few defensive errors in pre-season friendlies then he got that unfortunate injury after scoring the screamer, anyone who can't see he's miles ahead of Barisic in almost every department doesn't know football, plus he's only 22 compared to 31 year old Barisic, last OF was the quietest I've ever seen Maeda, if not for that mix-up that resulted in Balogun's red you wouldn't even have known he was playing, where normally in OFs Barisic just ball watches until his man knocks one in at the back-post...

He would score/assist vs most of the league, which is just as important as OF matches cos you gotta win against the small teams too.
I do agree that he didn't play to his full potential against Celtic, but it was his first full season as a pro footballer getting regular game time. Anyways, doesn't matter now though does it haha.

Brilliant assessment on the players agree with you on sifu but think Danilo is a hit with me a very determined player to get the ball whereas dessers you have to look at his goals most scored through deflections and not including when he was in our own box caused two goals for the opposition him and lammers send shivers down my back.
Im still hoping for cifuentes to come good there's definitely a player in there. If dessers was our striker on the bench i wouldn't mind but not as our main striker. For me lammers is the one that is a disaster and we must get him out now hopefully someone in the Dutch league will want him

Agree with you on Lammers. But I'd also say Cyriel Dessers has been one of the worst players I've ever watched at Rangers. Not saying technically the worst, but in terms of watching as a fan, its brutal. One of the least exciting players I've ever seen play for us to be honest.

I feel I need to correct you CJ. Describing some of our summer signings as ‘miss’ is too kind. They are mince…. If we manage to get a 20+ goals a season striker signed (dare I say Shankland), Danilo and Dessers won’t get another game (hopefully). Lammers just simply embarrassing. Justin Bieber (Cantwell) also needs to start giving us more because if Silva is as good as we’re lead to believe, then Bieber could quite easily find himself out the team

Butland definitely our signing of the season. Balogun continuing where he left off however it does show us how underwhelming Davies and Souttar have been. Sterling has been great since he got his chance and long may that continue. still got hope that Cifu can turn it around. Dowell has been solid under clement just hope he can stay fit. Sima has been the best outfield player out of the lot. Danilo whenever he has played has been good he has been in our recent games as i feel we play better with him than with Dessers, as for Dessers I don't he has been as bad as people say but for that price tag and in certain games he is not good enough and finally Lammers to put it bluntly the worst summer signing Dessers has at least had came up with some impressive performances. I do actually feel sorry for him, it must not be easy failing again and again I do hope when he does leave he finds a club where he can finally settle and show what he can bring.

Sterling deserves his chance at right back, with Tav moving into right side midfield where his attacking prowess is best utilised. Hopefully, Fabio Silva will score a dozen or so goals in the second half of the season.
Think sterling likely dot around midfield and full back in this early stage of his career but for me has all attributes for a top centre half in time. Lightning quick, strong, reads the game well, can distribute the ball, good in the air, brave and shows leadership qualities on the pitch.

The club have basically made a complete mess of the big money recruitment, not just this season, but the last few years. Money has been consistently wasted on gambles that haven't paid off. If you take the free agent signings we've made out of the equation, how many players have we actually gotten value for money out of that we've paid for? It's been flop after flop after flop, even going back to when Gerrard was there the warning signs were there when we wasted money on Jack Simpson and Juninho Bacuna. There has been something seriously, seriously wrong with Rangers' recruitment department for a number of years. It seems now that they have finally acknowledged it with Koppen coming in and seemingly changing things up with the scouting department. Simply put though, it's unsustainable to be bringing players in for big money and selling them for less money. If we're honest, Rangers got lucky with Bassey and Patterson as well. Lewis Mayo was allowed to leave on a free to Killie and has been a stand out. Doig, Ferguson and Shankland have all been available and affordable, and we've turned our nose up at them. Rangers need to start looking at players who are going to guarantee value for money.

Yet another late watch reply to this vid as well CJ, but i want to add one other important point to the 9 summer signings, and its about Raskin and Cantwell. We'll probably never really get to know the truth about both players, but given Beale's utter incompetence, I firmly believe that both players were probably first identified by Stevie G and not his useless sidekick. He was the manager and decicion maker on recruitment supported by Mark Allen and Ross Wilson, Beale would have had little or nae say at all on these decisions. I would even go as far as also crediting the decent signings to Gerrard, like Big Jack (former England number 2 after all), and also Sterling, and definitely with Balogan. Does any Rangers supporter really believe Beale would ever have the integrity to admit that Gerrard is the manager who should be given the credit for spotting top talent. Beale has made one huge clusterfcuk of every decision as manager, I believe even to the point of at the end deliberately trying to damage our great club once he knew he was found out as a complete fcukup and waste of time as a manager...Ridvan and Balogan not on europa list, Hagi loaned with no possibility of recall even though by then Beale knew he'd been found out as shite by the supporters. I think Sunderland fans are very quickly coming to these same realisations as he's been shite there too, ans still full of the same bullshit. Thats my honest opinion! Another one or two moves and he'll be down to non league and then kiddies fitbaw, where he truly belongs, though I'll feel very sorry for ANY kiddies with that clown as manager!!
Really hope that was the last disastrous transfer window we had with Beale in the summer for a long long time or hopefully forever. I agree with most of your ratings of the summer signings CJ, however when it comes to Dowel and Danilo i have to say that I'm sitting on the fence with both.
As you say, under a better manager things might improve for both. Dowell is starting to look like a player BUT hopefully he has more to offer.
The jury is out on Danilo. At the start we were all baffled that beale was playing Sima, Dessers and even Lammers in front of him but once he did get his chance he seemed to grab it with both hands and we all thought "now this guy is going to do great things for us" then he got his injury, then came back and started to miss absolute SITTERS.
Having said that, due to his run of injuries*, i think we have to wait and judge him once he is back to full fitness and had s decent run of games.

Rangers need to play with two up front bring back the old 442 or 352 as one striker is no good for a big club! We go to watch a team score goals not defend them! That’s why you pay big money on them. The way you feel about dessers is the way I feel about lammers and vise versa! dessers up front has made every single one if our midfielders look bang average because he is a total struggle to get anything out of. Absolutely no outball or help from up front and the pressure gets piled onto players like lammers. Will I be gutted to see him go? Probably not. But he can do so much better. I can see it in him.
this half season would have to go down as one of the worst weve had taking all into account. Europa league excepted we are very lucky the rest of the teams in the SPL are really crap otherwise we would be further behind celtic than we are now. Leaving aside Dessers going missing in big games and looking like an amateur footballer a lot of the time, a majority of his goals have either deflected in or have hit him on the arse and gone in.
It is about time some supporters stopped slagging off Rangers players. It is natural for players to lose form for whatever reason, I am sure it is not deliberate. The boss knows his players better than anyone else, & he will sort out the ones that don't fit in his plans. Not withstanding that, when you put dreadful posts about any player, you not only can unsettle players but you do a great disservice to the club, & the players future sell on price.

Butland, Balogun and Sterling are the only ones for me. I think if Sima was played as a striker he would be on that list as the lad pops up in amazing positions and looks natural finishing, also a physical presence... however out wide i just dont think he has it

He's had more than enough game time this season to show us what hes about and he hasnt come close to what we need from a player in his position. Very poor. A loan till end of season and then get rid unless he rips up trees which he wont.
Wasted so much that I'm not up for paying Hearts over 1 million for Shankland, he's 28 we'll never recoup the fee or wages, if we are gonna fork out millions I'd rather use that money on better quality players wages...
He might be 28 but he knows where the net is and I think we'd definitely win the league with his goals as he'd score a lot more for us given the fact he'd get more chances. Reaching the champions league would pay for itself so not a risk IMO
@grantwills6633 As you say it's your opinion, mine is he isn't up too snuff for us, and he is sure as 💩not a champions league player, he'll never get the same amount at Ibrox as he did at Hearts because of a thing called pressure, seen much better players come and shit it..
Dessers is too S L O W. Too slow in terms of pace and too slow in taking a shot. Don't know if he can turn it around and don't know if we've the time to wait to find out.
