  • In Vesterålen in Northern Norway we don't see the sun in a period of approximately 2 months during the winter season. Many are "scared" of this so-called Polar night, and I was too in the beginning but not anymore.
Each period of the year here in the north has its own charm. Despite that the sun is under the horizon at the moment, and the days with lights are at it shortest, we still get a few hours of "daylight".
This video is from yesterday, where Jens and I powerhiked up to Storbåtsegga 638 masl. and ran down with snowshoes on. We took full advantage of the few hours we had with daylight, and were blown away of the magical light and atmosphere we experienced during our hike in the mountains.
Polar night in Vesterålen with no filter. Enjoy!
