Enjoying the ambient, instrumental duet that starts this, with drifting quotes of some of her songs' motifs, and an expansive, trance-like embrace... as if she is setting the listener up for deeper opening of the mind before the 'more animated' part of the show. They are always in control of the sound, the sound is music, the music calms your mind and slows your heart rate... And then she's singing, endearingly to her fans. I'm enjoying Courtney on YT today more than ever -- videos since 2019.
Courtney's instrumental work very much seems inspired by Australian guitarist Mick Turner ( of Dirty Three) who has become a naturalist in the field of instrumental music and alchemy. All his albums are self portraits.I think Courtney's dive into instrumrntal works maybe her self portraits too.
@@hipstervideoI actually really like this stuff she’s doing. Those last few vids she uploaded of her walking around in that sortof dreamscape. She must be going through some … inner … something. She just happens to be cool sharing it. I like it a lot. Maybe she just went to India ? Takes some courage to change things up in front of an audience that’s used to a modicum of raucousness .
I was going & ended up not being able to, after seeing this, glad to know I didn’t miss much. Seen her a few times, once solo, each time amazing. Thank God for RUclips 🙏🏾
"The King has no clothe on". Female "Dylan" wanna be? Rolling Stones "top greatest guitarists of all time"? Give me a break. In what universe? Rolling Stones is about as valid as the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
I agree that rolling stone and the rock and roll hall of fame suck but you're dead wrong about Courtney. She may not be your thing but she's fucking great on guitar
@@hipstervideo With all due respect. Are you a guitar player? She plays guitar, yes. But she is NOT a great guitar player. She's not even a good guitar player. She may play good enough to deliver her songs, and that's fine, but she is NOT....NOT a good technical player. I have beginning students that play better. The fact that she's in this (bogus) list is laughable. (As are so many others listed here that shouldn't be). That doesn't mean that we shouldn't like her songs. But on a list of "Greatest guitar players"......NO! HELL NO! Peace!
Yes, I do play guitar. She's more innovative than most. I get that her stuff might not be your cup of tea but you sound like an incel vomiting in the comment section. You should really check into your own anger issues. Like for real, take a step back and ask yourself why you're THIS upset on some random cell footage of a woman playing guitar. It's not a good look for you
@@hipstervideo There's more to music than technical playing. I haven't played in a couple years and don't have a guitar yet after emigrating. But coming across Courtney's first album made me want to prioritise getting a guitar again.

I hope that crowd was high enough for that first 17 minutes ;)
It was cool being in the room
I'm not sure if it would have been as interesting with a bad stage view

Imagine paying $17 to see this
That would be a bargain as tickets were like fifty after fees
